I manage to get my location tested eventhough i was out of coverage.

Surprisingly, it was full bar 4g, fast.com shows 50++ Mbps

Thanks to the chap who came to my house with his modem. It wasnt free service.

make sure u get green-green-green is the best.. ignore the value.. or at least 2 greens.. lpda can help u if your area signal is not strong.. better signal reception, better data packets travelling through wavelength radio frequency, better speed..

it is not always like that, I manage to get green green yellow but speed is 2mbps only. but after midnight to morning can get up to 140mbps. then I realized my area is congested. (umobile)

then I try unifi air, yellow yellow red only but manage to get 50mbps .

both using B618. umobile with pair of LPDA, but unifi did not since I feel contented with the speed already.

FAST.com Now Measures Latency and Upload Speed
A little over two years ago, we launched FAST.com – a free, fast, and simple way for people to check the speeds they’re getting from their internet service provider. Since then, the site has experienced incredibly strong organic growth. In fact, usage of FAST.com has doubled over the past seven months, * and the site has now generated more than half a billion speed tests from around the world.

We’ve heard from some FAST.com users that they crave more information about their internet connection. That’s why today, we’re adding the ability to measure connection latency and upload speed. Upload speed measures the speed of the connection for uploading data from a user’s device to the internet. Latency – which refers to the time it takes for data to travel from a user’s device to the server and back – will be measured on both unloaded and loaded connections. Unloaded latency measures the round-trip time of a request when there is no other traffic present on a user’s network, while loaded latency measures the round-trip time when data-heavy applications are being used on the network.

For example, let's say you’re playing a game online on your computer. If you’re the only user on the network, then the time between your gaming action (like moving a mouse or clicking it) and the response from the gaming server will approximately match the unloaded latency measurement. However, if someone else is streaming a movie, backing up photos or performing other data-intensive tasks on the same network at the same time, your gaming response time would correspond to the loaded latency measurement. Ideally, those two values for unloaded and loaded latency should be close to each other. If not, that might explain your poor experience with latency sensitive applications (like gaming, video calls or web surfing) under heavy network usage, and you may want to check your home network setup (bufferbloat.net has useful recommendations) or consult with your ISP.

We all want a faster, better internet, yet internet speeds vary greatly and can be affected by other users on your network, or congestion with your internet service provider. We’re adding these new measurements to FAST.com so that consumers will have a more comprehensive view of their internet connection speed at any given time.

As FAST.com grows, we’ll continue to listen to feedback from our users to ensure that the tool is useful and valuable. And no matter what, we’ll always keep the design of FAST.com clean and ad-free.

You can check your upload speed and latency at FAST.com now, and feel free to share the results on Facebook or Twitter.

36ms for unloaded not bad for streaming.. this is same latency that u will get if you are using speedtest algorithm by ookla..

In app netflix speed test show speed around 40-80mbps, which for me is enough..

36ms to SG is at least twice that of a good fibre corporate line.
So wireless is always behind wired fibre even your closest 5G access point requires fibre to be hooked up to give you such incredible speeds.

yeahh.. fiber is always faster.. but i tot this thread is talking about unifi air.. and not every1 is lucky to get fiber at their place.. i live with 8mbps streamyx for 8 years. so for me paying less 10 ringgit than people paying over 30mbps fiber but better speed is definitely a win for me.. i dont give a damn about any latency as long as my netflix streaming just fine.. kah kah kah..

Yesterday go and purchased unifi air without contract, sim only.. i subscribed sim only before, but unfortunately tested it on wrong type of modem.. before this i use Huawei B715, which does not have band 40 for unifi air.. after testing it for a while and only connected at band 5, i terminate the package as it is very damn slow.. not even 8mbps.. yesterday, i called 3rd party person who is doing service to check unifi air coverage in penang.. he brought his tm b618-65d, and we tested with LPDA (Log Periodic Antenna) and the result was excellent.. i got around 70-80mbps via fast.com

before I purchased another huawei router b525s-65a to use with yes ku99.. yes ku99 in my area average around 20-30mbps during day, but at night starting from 7pm-12am the speed dropped tremendously.. i only get around 3-6mbps at night with yes.. so then i insert the unifi air sim to b525, connect the lpda.. the lpda is face towards the tm tower nearby and voila.. i managed to get speed around 50-70mbps during day, and around 30-40mbps at night.. definitely 100 time better than my unifi lite 8mbps.. time to say goodbye to yes

To those planning to subscribe to unifi air, make sure ur modem supported BAND 40 TDD 2300 MHz. I got 4G+ with this band. If people say just go and buy unifi mobile prepaid to test coverage in ur area, please take note that unifi mobile is running on different band altogether with unifi air. Unifi mobile is on band 5, 10Mhz, while band 40 is 20 Mhz. yes you can run unifi air on band 5, but the speed is damn slow. My house is not within the blue coverage area. But if you know the location of the transmitting tower, and u purchased LPDA with your modem, you can definitely improve your wireless broadband signal. Strong signal equals to consistent speed.

where's the tower location?

how u point the antenna?

the most correct way for you to test out is by adjusting the antenna and look at the hmanager at the same time.. once u get the most green, then it is correct already.. for me, it is 10 storey telco tower, next to tm hq building.. another way is to look at unifi air map, and point to the coverage area.. either north, south, west.. be creative..
