checked but the joint soldering seems fine, still shiny and even, didn't notice any oxidation/rust as well, just some smudges around the joints(seems like intended)

i did test in my room with router power adaptor but the lines were not there, weird

directly from batt you mean the fuse box is it?
*
yes,just to rule out variables.

once inside the cabin, any 12v may come from various modules/relays/etc.

if from batt results in exact same condition, then the device is faulty. Halfway plugged in may intro other long term affects which i am not educated on, maybe can also explore what effects & causes of this.

As for ferrite beads, over a decade ago i played with this, i didnt find any difference in my use case.

i have a device which can supports 4 cams to be connected to a dashcam and controlled by a remote switcher

user posted image

the device works flawlessly capturing videos and switching between all cams but just one thing odd is the white banding lines it produced

user posted image

some suggested me that to use something like picture below to eliminate interference but still no cure

user posted image

just right before i'm giving up, i noticed something when i pulled out the power cable from the device just leaving some portion of it slightly inside the device, the white bandings vanished miraclely all of a sudden

user posted image
user posted image

but this didn't last long once i reinserted the cable deeper to fully into the device, the white bandings reappeared again.......

what could be possibly wrong happened here? or any solutions that you guys can be suggested for me to solve it? thx

I'm not well-versed in electrics, but maybe the 12V power supply's barrel connector may have a flaw internally causing EMF which results in the banding on the monitor?

i don't want to touch the fuse box as i'm not familiar with it
i tried with a power bank just now, surprisingly the lines are gone, but once i plug it back to my car usb port, appear again...
is this means that my car voltage got problem?

Both RC11 and RC12 are:

Compatible with the 70mai Dash Cam A810/A800S/A500S/A400 for rear or interior recording, providing you with a comprehensive view of your surroundings.
With a wide viewing angle of 130°, you can capture more detail in your recordings.
High quality recordings at 1920 x 1080 resolution ensure that you can clearly see what's happening on the road.
The 5.5-meter-long cable and minimalistic design make for easy self-installation.

RC12:
The R12 Rear Camera also supports HDR rear cam recording or interior recording for enhanced clarity and detail.

Does anyone have a solution for this issue? Can’t calibrate, can’t connect to app (wifi is off), can’t hard reset, can’t access settings.

It’s a 70mai A500S. From googling, I’ve tried downloading different firmware, put it into the SD card but still the same. Formatting the SD card also no change.

Any help would be much appreciated.

using 70mai A800s, after couple months had this problem found the solution. update to the RIGHT firmware. not the latest firmware

Any link to the right firmware?

I actually contacted 70mai directly and they gave me a firmware to update manually based on my serial number or whatever. Still didn’t work, just stayed the same. They just suggested me to go back to where I purchased it to try to fix, useless customer service this 70mai.

Mine is actually A800s too, wrongly typed A500s in the post.

I know Sandisk Ultra is a big nono when used in a dashcam laugh.gif

If not wrong, the Samsung Pro read/speed is faster than the Sandisk Extreme.

Hi sifus. Have done a search but the replies are from 2020 and 2022 and only mentions Sicurez so thought I'd ask for more updated information.

Can anyone recommend a good and not atas price installer for dashcam in PJ please? Recently bought 70Mai A800 and A500 and need to install front and rear cams. Thanks in advance.

Hi sifus, sorry for repeating the same questions as others since kind of confused.
I never installed dashcam in my cars before. This is the first time I want to pasang.
My car already have those ADAS thingies, so I just want a reliable brand/model that have good after sale support as well and clear recording that can show the plate number for both front and rear camera during day time or night time.
I'm not planning to do the hard wire setup as well.
I have done some own research and only can shortlist 70mai A810 and DDPAI Z50. As of now my budget for dashcam is around RM1K+-.
It would be really helpful if sifus here that have experience with any good dashcam with little flaws to give some advice.

I also never install one especially when all my cars are over 10 to 18 years old. Just recently installed one on my old City (very nicely maintained one lar and driven by wife coz got experience accident, no proof).

At that that time, I also consider A810 and Z50 GPS with rear cam. A810 is really more expensive (coz the latest and highest range) while Z50 is out for sometime.

Although I have no experience on A810, I installed Z50 GPS with rear cam and OBD hard fuse. If you car is after warranty, can try OBD hardfuse. It's plug and play unlike fuse hardwire. It can read you car battery strength, so that if you set parking mode and the battery level felt below 12.5V or something, it will stop the parking mode battery drain. OBD also allow you to HARD switch (there is also software setting to do that but OBD has the switch directly there), to either ACC mode (engine off, dashcam off) or 24 hours mode (parking mode). After setting to 24 hours, I just set if battery falls below 12.5V (you need 12V to start car) stop the parking mode (I set on collision or massive vibration, record only, not 24 hours recording to reduce battery drain yet maintain collision recording).

Once you go cig lighter power source tho, parking mode advantage and battery drain monitoring above is a mute point.

There is lead car departure notification if you ADAS does not have it. Mine no ADAS, so this is a useful added feature for my older car. The fact that it uses supercapacitor instead of lithium battery (A810), for me is a safer option and can withstand heat (my 2 cents only, lithium battery for other dashcam all no problem also but batteries life will be shorten drastically for hot weather like ours).

It is quite cheaper than A810 although A810 is really the top range in video quality etc but Z50 high resolution is very good liao unless you taking dashcam video for tik tok, youtube, etc, so want maximum quality..hehe.

any one with honda civic with 70mai dashcam (hardwire).. it kinda messes up the car battery (draining).

Honda Service Centre complain that its caused by 70mai and proceed to remove the hardwire .. anyone with same issue and i suspect the hardwire was done wrongly)
*
I have Civic FC installed with 70mai hardwire kit. My car accessories shop at Taman Melawati, KL is good at choosing the correct fuse where the time lapse only starts when I stop the engine and open the car door. The recording would cut off after 3 days idle and go into standby mode (tested during MCO period) and would not leave me with a dead car battery.

However, I did face once where my car alarm went haywire and could not start the car. Only solution was to remove the car battery and after leaving it for half a day, the car went back to normal after reinstalling the same battery. Problem did not come back ever since but touch wood! (this was during MCO also)

Another incident where I installed DDPAI hardwire kit on my City hatchback V sensing. One month after installation, the car dash warning lights came on like christmas tree. Had to tow the car back to Honda SC. The SC warned me and removed all hardwiring to the fuse box. Car was ok after that incident but only can connect the dash to the USB port. Wasted my hardwire kit.

My conclusion would be selecting the correct fuse to hardwire to and look for a skilled technician at the accessories shop if you can.

I see. Im not planning for any social media sharing, just want a clear picture when things go wrong only. Thanks a lot for your infos. Will do hardwire things if the car warranty is end.
