start yr car and see if the red circle and REC appears on the status bar of the dashcam. If so, walk to the front of the car and do a dance, then walk to the back of the car and do another dance. shut off the car. review the dashcam video and u will have your answer.

Just today my trusty DDPai Z40 (already provided 3x videos for accidents/incidents in the past few years) suddenly told me 'Please remove SD card'. Saw that the rubber covering for SD card had fallen down on the dashboard, and the SD Card was sticking out of the slot. Pushing it back in, it won't stay/click, the spring just pushes it back out.

Is this physical damage? Possible to be repaired, or is it time for a replacement?

This weekend decided to dismantle it and find out. This is what I saw. Nothing that I can get to to repair unfortunately. Looks like have to replace.

Anyone know if I buy just the front camera for Z50/Z60 whether I can reuse the rear camera from my Z40 (which is already installed with nice wiring all the way)?

EDIT: Realised I could also upload the video showing the clicking doesn't work anymore... https://imgur.com/a/uKAUhfi

3rd-last resort:
replacing the faulty microSD card slot requires specialist tools and serious soldering skillz. If you know a capable cellphone/dashcam repairer, maybe he can do it.

2nd-last resort:
Get a microSD to microSD extension cable, superglue/epoxy the male end to the dashcam's female slot taking care not to cover the contact points with the glue.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/micro-sd..._gmc=1&fl_tag=1

and the last resort is to get a new dashcam.

Eh I can solder decently but not at this size....

Very much appreciate the suggestions though! The second one especially looks possible but I think not practical for vehicle with constant bumps.

Let me go ask dashcam seller whether Z40 rear cam can be reused....

Hi
Would like to ask if 128GB memory card is sufficient?
For car with front & rear camera. Front is 4k recording. Not using parking mode

Technically minimum. Note that the more memory storage you have, the more days it can retained the recording before overwriting. If you suddenly wanted to refer back to certain incidents days ago with lots of driving, you might have your days old data overwritten if memory is insufficient. So if 128GB say enuf, yes, but if you want days of recordings, even weeks, the more storage, the safer it is. Just like cctv, you can get a 500gb storage or 2 TB storage. Both can do the job and overwrite data when full BUT if you suddenly want to refer to recording months ago, you might not get it in 500GB but more chances the recording are still retained in 2TB storage. Your choice.

For 4K, I would suggest 256GB at moderate recording period at least if you want to keep days or week old recording.
Optionally, you can also switch to 2K recording to lessen the recording size (I feel already good enuf unless you want to do tik tok) to increase number of days it can retain data for reference if needed.

before buying larger memory cards, always check whether the dashcam can support the larger capacity you wanted
