You'll need to hardwire it to your car battery for the parking mode.

If one buys the B1W from a China seller, will that wifi-enabled dashcam need SIRIM certification before being released by Kastam?

Yes, any wireless devices including dash cam will need SIRIM AP. Be sure to use the 'correct' shipper to avoid that. No big company DHL for sure.
*
Thanks for the confirmation. That's what my initial research online showed. All the same I'll pop into wisma Kastam after raya and ask again to see if there's any recent changes to the rules. I've never imported any wireless-capable device b4 and I really need replacements to the 3 SJcam 4000's (all locally-purchased) I been using...they're 4 & 5 yrs old and I'm tired of replacing swollen batteries.

Don't think will need to ship B1W via DHL. As mostly all China dashcam sellers use other shippers that can go around this. All my dashcams arrived without the hassle. Mobile phones kena a few times d.
*
I believe Jayce meant to NOT use any big-name shipper like DHL. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Ya am combing youtube for all the reviews i can find.

thinking of 1 unit with rear cam disabled so it can record at 4K at the front, then one more unit at the rear recording at 1080P with the secondary camera mounted on the B pillar recording the interior (esp the dashboard and driver seat belt)

Stick with 1080p dual cam or 1440p front cam only.

It's not true 4K camera sensor but a 4MP sensor. It's an interpolated resolution.
*

Yup that's right. Got the manual etc..will go thru them tonight...busy multitasking now

Reviewing it now...

So you're Damian Lim laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Whoa camel! rm4-5k is mucho dinero. Maybe TS could make a list of decent dashcams with dual cameras between rm500-700 to help out those of us who have lesser budgets?

1st Page. Budget dashcam section.

500 to 700 could get single or dual. Depending on your needs.

Viofo A129 duo fits the pricing range.

Will look at page 1 Thanks! Yes i'm quite interested in the Viofo A129

Is is worthwhile/necessary to pay extra for a "High Endurance" micro SD card? Seen some in that category by Sandisk and Kingston. I've been using ordinary Kingstons and Samsung Evo Plus cards for my dash and action cams with no problems to-date.

Well, they are more durable than the cards you and me are using laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif and also have a warranty if used in dashcams...

But the price is a bit higher... Anyway, as long use good cards is fine...

OK thanks....it's nice to be able to save some money when possible.

Nice. Finally the up the write/read speed of the previous version.

But write speed still slower than Evo Plus though. Seems all high endurance have a slow write speed of 45mb/s.

Fastest high endurance is Kingston

Yup! Kingston has the fastest write speed. Out of curiosity, I looked up Samsung PRO Endurance cards on shopee...30mbps write and rather steep prices sweat.gif

Haven't open. Will try in my Q800 Pro first.
I bought 128GB Samsung Pro Endurance from US for less than USD40 if not mistaken. Waiting for my sis to bring back next month.

Anyway, heard the Pro Endurance is not going to launch in Malaysia. Maybe new version coming? Samsung Pro Endurance Plus maybe laugh.gif

Ooh nice smile.gif Let's see what the near future brings...and hopefully the price is not Plus too biggrin.gif

Or you can wait a bit as A129 Pro 4K is releasing soon in a few weeks. The front is 4K resolution and rear is 1080p resolution (can use either Duo rear cam or IR rear cam).

Will wait to see how's the Pro 4K smile.gif

You know you're thread is a good and solid one when manufacturers keep an eye on it and chime in too! thumbup.gif

Am still patiently waiting for the 4K version of the A129 to be reviewed before making a decision. No rush smile.gif
