Thinking of downgrading from 500mb plan to 100mb plan. Talked to customer service over the phone and she told me that internet will be down to 3 days if downgrade. Got such thing or scare tactics?

I think mine is standard Ruby package.  I din make any changes from my previous Turbo 800mbps standard package.  I am not using the service at all.

That day the TM customer service told me that if i change to the RM129 100mbps plan, there will be no Unifi TV service, where I can only watch the channels using Unifi TV app, and cant access them using the TV box. Is that true?

Those who have the ultimate TV pack and use it, you can also download the BBC player app and watch selected BBC TV series and boy, for me it's great!
Got the latest season of Luther and the new Brexit drama starring Cumberbatch.

Nope, your equipment need to be replaced.

Get a Wireless AC router. Expect maximum of around 60% of claimed speed even with good signal.

QUOTE(System Error Message @ Jan 28 2019, 03:36 AM)
Actually its not as the others  say. You do  need a new router and  your adapter sucks.

Wireless N practical speeds are 30% on a good day, wireless AC practical speeds are 50% on  a good day.
So at 30% on wifi your current router will do 100Mb/s on 2.4Ghz, 150Mb/s on 5Ghz. If you want 500Mb/s you'll need a 3 channel wireless AC router to max it out but your adapter is 2 channel wifi AC and crap, so i'd expect  around  400Mb/s from it. All you need is a 2 channel wifi AC router, and if you are on a budget, tplink is decent, infact  call TM to let them know you arent enjoying their new speeds, still at 100Mb/s, get them to come and have them replace your equipment. The tp link AC1200 that tm gives out may only have a wifi 5Ghz practical speed of 433Mb/s but thats at least close to your subscribed speed if you get it free.

Recently got upgraded to 800mbps but even with gigabit router unable to reach even 500mbps. Complained to TM but they only said will send someone over to check after CNY.

Anyone got any ideas or similar issue?

Tried two Routers:
Asus RT-AC55UHP
Unifi TP-LINK Archer C1200

C1200 no problem with 800Mbps on GbE lan. The Asus probably also. How you testing? PC fast enough? Make sure the other end also fast enough.

Direct lan from PC to router, not using any splitter. By PC fast enough I would assume you mean motherboard ethernet supports gigabit? If so yes.

I also tried with different Lan Cable still unable to achieve 800mbps, getting maximum around 350~

I mean your processor and if you have Meltdown and Spectre patches installed. Look at your cpu cores usage during the test and see if one or more cores maxes out. I don’t use Windows so will have to page johnlai for this.

Meltdown and Spectre aside, he is using Asus RT-AC55UHP. rclxub.gif
Didn't there was ASUS beta firmware to enable NAT Acceleration (Cut through forwarding) when VLAN tagging is active?

Aik? Seem like the beta firmware link had been deleted by ASUS? doh.gif

Luckily I got save the beta firmware for AC55UHP.......

I tried installing the firmware and it seems to help and I did not touch any settings. Do let me know if I need to configure anything but managed to get constant 550mbps now, although package is 800mbps.

Also tried checking router cpu core, it hits about 75-80% when I am running the speed test.

Oh? Good, seem like your NAT Acceleration is finally working if you can get 550Mbps now.

As for getting 800Mbps.......tell me your windows 10 version (1709, 1803 or 1809?) and CPU model.......as well as your antivirus+firewall.....
