Ah... i see

sorry for my first post wrongly ask question
I'm not familiar with the unit/terminology

Free if I take up the 2yrs contract  laugh.gif
I probably choose to buy owned router. I will continue my survey for router.
quite sad that my house had to pay higher for 30mbps (because it was paid upgrade), i ask to contract for the 30mbps package but they can't do it since my housing area already full. So paid upgrade is the only choice
10mbps RM149 top up RM50 for 30mbps

now paying RM210 (incl tax) sad.gif

yup. Currently wait for their feedback after my email regarding the upgrade status.

Thanks for clearing that up.

side note: about the picture (google image picture,my bad)
for my current house unit is the RGX4400 router and the Huawei GPON Terminal
for my previous unit is the ZTE VDSL2 and DIR850L router

Dahell?!
RM 199 for 300 mbps?
I would "upgrade" to 100 mbps for RM 129 anytime of the day!
I suggest you to do it as soon as possible.
savings of RM 74.20 every month.
Get "free" router every 6 months laugh.gif

hahaha

actually I'm in dilemma

because I'm also a maxis user

if i downgrade to RM129 (100mbps Unifi) I only save cost

but if with maxis, i can get unlimited data for my phone also biggrin.gif

if by end of march, UNIFI still no upgrade my package, i might port-out and go for Maxis
as for now, still reading Maxis fibre thread smile.gif

faster way to know is asking a agent, they Usually handle Time, maxis and unifi registration.

Hi, would like to ask concerning a HyppTV/router problem.

I bought my own router a few days ago (D-Link DIR-878), internet/wifi is working fine.

HyppTV is troublesome as whenever the Set Top Box is put in "Standby mode", and then switched on again later, I lose Multicast Connectivity (Network Test using STB) and get a black screen showing a satellite dish with X.

I have to switch off the STB and reboot it every time to get Multicast Connectivity/HyppTV working again.
The old router didn't have this problem.

I have tried setting high Priority ID for the IPTV VLAN, turning off Priority ID but no luck.
IPV6 settings have no bearing on IPTV VLAN? I have IPV6 off for my router.

My parents are using HyppTV and they find it troublesome having to reboot the STB every time now.

I looked through all the router settings but the IGMP setting is not available.
I am using the latest firmware.

I did a google search on D-Link DIR-878 IGMP, dlink.ru returned a manual for the DIR-878 that shows it has the IGMP setting, but the router interface in the pictures is totally different. I'm guessing the one for sale in Russia/other regions has different firmware.

Is it charge to the bill or your brother pay the technician? You can call TM also to clarify.

Check the Acceptance form. It should be recorded in the form. variation order is chargable if beyond standard scope of supply.

Found a solution to my problem after tinkering with the router settings, would like to share.

Router: D-Link DIR-878

Issue: HyppTV loses Multicast Connectivity (Network Test using STB)
HyppTV shows black screen with X satellite dish whenever the Set Top Box (STB) is brought out of Standby mode.
Rebooting the STB can fix it, but put it in Standby mode again and the same problem occurs

Solution: Go to the router page in your web browser, under Settings->Network, disable DNS Relay
It is enabled by default.
*Edit* Also click Advanced Settings, then disable IPV4 Multicast Streams

A note so that other users who face the same issue will find this solution.
Other routers might have the same problem if they have DNS Relay.

*Update* Forget what I said above....it doesn't work, the problem came back

It seems other users are also suffering from the same problem looking at BlackTubi's review page comments of the D-link DIR-878

No problem streaming TV box everyday using my unifi 800 mbps.
However my TV box lan port max only 100 mbps, still stream smoonthly.
Sometimes it is very depend on streaming site server. if their server smooth, even 30 mbps can stream with no lag.

Ònline streaming with box doesnt need high speed.

Netflix 4k ask for 25mbps only.

Your concern should not be about high sped but the box and app itself.

Good box, good apps, good connection, there is no problem.

Bad box, bad apps, bad connection... yes, will see disconnection, this down, that lag, this cant get, that hang.

Box n apps discussions.... plenty in other threads.

This been around for 8 years at least, plenty of experienced users now.
