Just next door?
Pull a nice LAN cable and setup another AP there.
During my uni days, used to pull LAN cable across the back alley into another uni mate house so we can have LAN party all the time tongue.gif

Everyday, my house will get disconnected without fail, range from 11.15-11.30pm.. really daily without fail as i have tested this out with ps4.. everyday 11.15-11.30 will dc 1 time (game and party) i have tried both wifi and LAN but still DC...

If anyone have solution or troubleshoot suggestion.. please let me know šŸ™
*

you should have added the RM 10 to get Ultimate pack then.
then they will realize you have2 packs and remove 1 automatically.
So nett gain, RM 20 laugh.gif

Yay, finally after 3 months of asking Unifi to change my modem, they finally came to change.
hooray for speedy service.
On cable managed to get 518/102.
On my lousy phone only managed to get 306/101.
On iPhone7 surprisingly can get 519/102.

Not bad at all.

that's very very odd...i assume you are on 500Mbps ?

my router is a new asus ac86u, i tested 5Ghz wifi with my iphone 7+ literally next to the router, but only managed to get 300+ / 100 no matter how many times i tried (telekom malaysia or time dotcom as server)
*
Why is it odd?
yes i am on 500.

I am using Archer C5 as Access Point. managed to reach that speed with iPhone 7.
Same speed with wired.

Try turning off your Wi-Fi Assist...
[attachmentid=10203060]

I have never seen my 6S, 8, XS exceed 400Mbps when testing with a 2x2 antenna WiFi Router/AP.
*
My place has almost zero or 1 bar LTE.
So i really doubt it's using cellular.
i tried speed testing my cellular, think my speed was around 20 mbps.
So that really is wireless AC and iphone 7

Oh yeah, forgot to mention it was charging at that time.
So that might affect the power mode of the phone.

Hi guys,

not sure here the right place to ask

okay, previously when i was still in college i applied for UNIFI and been using till i move out back to my home. I've terminate my UNIFI and able to keep the modem, router and all

at my house, we already have a unifi and it using fibre optic cable...so i was wondering is it possible to convert the optic cable to gigabit ethernet cable since the i still have the my previous DLink DIR850L router

thank you.
*
Can you tell what are you trying to achieve?
because the 850L is a gigabit router using LAN.
Not sure where you want to connect the optical cable.

current package is 30Mbps (paid upgrade from 10mbps)
speed tested avg (Iphone and macbook are connected to 5.0ghz while PC connect to 2.4Ghz): 24-29mbps

I've already sent an email to UNIFI why my package havent upgraded to 300Mbps  smile.gif

hope its help.
*
Why dont you chase TM to get it upgraded to 300 mbps before you worry about can support new speed or not.

Basically once you get upgraded to 300, the limitation is your router
The RGX-4400.

So you can use your DIR-850L as replacement. (no need worry of optical to ethernet etc etc)
But it wont be much help as probably wifi you can get around 100 odd.
That device is quite old. Hardware not that capable.
TM will offer to you to buy from them DIR-842
Or if they are generous...give you for free.

Side note:
You mentioned the black box that the optical comes into.
But you give picture of silver box Alcatel Lucent I240G?

Ah... i see

sorry for my first post wrongly ask question
I'm not familiar with the unit/terminology

Free if I take up the 2yrs contract  laugh.gif
I probably choose to buy owned router. I will continue my survey for router.
quite sad that my house had to pay higher for 30mbps (because it was paid upgrade), i ask to contract for the 30mbps package but they can't do it since my housing area already full. So paid upgrade is the only choice
10mbps RM149 top up RM50 for 30mbps

now paying RM210 (incl tax) sad.gif

yup. Currently wait for their feedback after my email regarding the upgrade status.

Thanks for clearing that up.

side note: about the picture (google image picture,my bad)
for my current house unit is the RGX4400 router and the Huawei GPON Terminal
for my previous unit is the ZTE VDSL2 and DIR850L router
*
Dahell?!
RM 199 for 300 mbps?
I would "upgrade" to 100 mbps for RM 129 anytime of the day!
I suggest you to do it as soon as possible.
savings of RM 74.20 every month.
Get "free" router every 6 months laugh.gif

That router can't support 500Mbps over wifi. It can only support it via wired connection, with RJ45 Cat 5e and above. I suggest referring to 1st page, 1st post, green text, for a quick lesson in home networking, and recommendations for a good router for your speed.
*
Why not able to support 500?
My Archer C5 can get 519 down, 103 up.

I meant it cant support the speed over WiFi. It will be able to if it is wired connection. I am assuming you are connected to the router directly via RJ45 Cat 5e or above?
*
Nope...via Wifi AC

I calculated mine . feel been cheated. pull across ceiling (just lay down cable only)less than 4m and straight down through existing(phone line) conceal pipe at wall (roughly 6m +-) .Been charges RM120. No complication or whatsoever. I asked them how they charge and why so expensive compare to others. They give me all sort of reason. The charges doesn't seem comply with whatever TM mention in their website
*
Bro, they have to climb the ceiling to pull the wire.
There are some risk involved.
They help you pull nicely into conceal pipe, considered cheap to pay RM 120 lo.
Treat like buying them a few teh tarik
