QUOTE(li_hat @ Mar 12 2019, 10:35 AM) For information, for those who live high rise building with only vdsl connection, and you are not able to subscribe more then 30mbps package. You may walk in to TM Point asking for Unifi Package for non Fiber. 30mbps + UnifiTV aneka = RM 119 or 30mbps + unifiTV free = RM89 This is for my case living in high rise with only vdsl available since i not able to choose 100mbps package. Already done that few month ago 30mbps, ruby pack, stb 20, rm119

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Mar 12 2019, 12:52 PM) Recent would be ax or WiFi 6, but you will need a device that can support it. No point having an AX router, if you don’t have the right devices to utilize it. What is your budget and your current Internet speed? AFAIK, no laptops/phones/tablets support AX Wifi yet. The closest is Intel 9260 AC Wifi card which supports AX's 160 MHz channel width, reaching 800++ mbps. Try turning off your Wi-Fi Assist... I have never seen my 6S, 8, XS exceed 400Mbps when testing with a 2x2 antenna WiFi Router/AP.

QUOTE(mois @ Mar 13 2019, 08:26 PM) This week my neigbbor install 100mbps and given tplink ac1200. I read first page it stated a lot issue with the router version 1. Is there version 2 now? The technician said it was hardware version 3.01. However when i opened it, it's actually hardware version 1.0 but with some minor changes such as the network switch chip. Their firmware is the latest TP-LINK Malaysia Unifi firmware. I also changed it from the D-Link DIR-842 hardware version C2. I prefer that one and has bigger wifi coverage. I been using it for a week and no reboot issue compared to the first version TP-LINK from TM. Overall, this new one is already stable so yeah it's good. QUOTE(soonwai @ Mar 9 2019, 11:53 PM) Just tested 5 public torrents at 11:35pm. On 800Mbps. Seems OK. Can try around 8pm+? Maybe it's my area congestion at that timing?

Hi guys,
not sure here the right place to ask
okay, previously when i was still in college i applied for UNIFI and been using till i move out back to my home. I've terminate my UNIFI and able to keep the modem, router and all
at my house, we already have a unifi and it using fibre optic cable...so i was wondering is it possible to convert the optic cable to gigabit ethernet cable since the i still have the my previous DLink DIR850L router
thank you.

I have experienced significant throttling a few times as well but it wasn't prolonged. I'm pretty sure I got faster speeds last year than what I'm getting now...

Possible but expensive. You can use an optical-ethernet media converter to bridge the optical fibre cable and your Cat5e cable. Another option is to get a router that accepts optical, usually via an SFP module. or if desktop PC, a PCIe card that accepts optical. This post has been edited by soonwai: Mar 14 2019, 12:46 AM
