Hasn’t happened to me before in the 10 or so years I’ve been on Time Fibre.

I also work till late in the night and I’ve got a backup connection if needed. My work cell plan has a lot of data for hotspot usage. Never had to fallback to plan B yet.

Ubiquiti's stuff supports multi WAN now, if you live in a high rise, why not consider a cheap 4G/5G modem with like U Home 5G or the sorts and use it as a backup connection if your TIME goes down
*
Yeah, if this happens too often to me or if I don't get the admin password, I'll consider hotspot or 4G/5G modem for multi-WAN.

Fingers crossed I don't have to deal with this issue tho! Appreciate the feedback.

I've asked my TIME salesperson for ONU instead but they said must get the ONR.

Do you know what's the process to obtain the admin password? Or can I ask the installer to provide this?
*
It is a quite closely guarded secret
I don't think they can give you

(Though, it exists out there on the internet)

But, you can ask the installer to bridge mode it for you

Thanks for the input. I'll try to ask the installer to assist with this. Otherwise, will need to deal with calling TIME after the install is done, before I can set up my Ubiquiti gear...

It is given based on the type of building record in the system. Customer is not allowed to simply request for the equipment change.

Installer is strictly Not allowed to provide this info to customer.
Anyway, you my check back previous post, I did highlight some ways to prevent that...

From experience, so far after few years of using, happened once only a few weeks ago.
Hotspot 5G using mobile is a good backup plan.

Slower speed, High Ping, Jitter to Singtel Speedtest.
Looks like got worse compared to last year 50ms.

NTT having issue on their submarine cable faulty between HKG to SG.

But not sure why NTT route is so weird for Singtel > Time fiber have to bypass HKG

I gotta come here from Unifi thread to laugh at your diagnostic.
Your own MTR screenshot clearly shows there is no problem within NTT network from HK to MY.
Submarine cable broken 404.

The ping spike between NTT and Time is mostly due to congestion of the PNI.
Someone on Time need to host a smokeping server and see the trend clearly.

Example from some great citizen on TM:
https://smokeping.mywebping.com

Now the actual problem is Singtel.
BGP Output:

You can clearly see there is only 2 egress path:
xn-hkgeq2-bo102.ix.singtel.com (Tung Chung, HK)
xn-paoeq1-bo102.ix.singtel.com (San Jose, USA)

Conclusion:
Singtel do not peer directly with Time, and their egress is sub-optimal as a result
Time has a congestion issue on their upstream with NTT (or maybe a temporary technical issue)

Oh really? NTT should layoff the staff who give misinformation on their submarine 404 faulty and give you credit on your so called diagnostic.

TIME residential no longer peers with Singtel since many years ago

That's partly why I no longer use TIME as well

Don't sikit-sikit salah orang lain. You did not even understand your own MTR screenshot.
Even the not so smart can see all the hop with "ntt" in them go from HK to MY with 17ms round trip.
Sounds like submarine cable problem??? Only to you.
I don't need anyone to thank me. Just here to laugh at you. Charlatan

My contract just ended and I checked with Time through their self care chat. I was told there is no ongoing promo for recontract. When I requested for termination info, they sent me the link to termination FAQ. Is it true that there is no promo at the time?

Recently can never hit the full speed of 600Mbps plan.

Even use the router to directly do speedtest to internet also can confirm this.

So it is certainly not due to wifi issue.

Is it becos the apartment I stay has too many users so the speed is shared until I cannot get full speed?

called call centre and ask about any promotion for renewing contact for my 600mbps which is due on Sept 25 and they call back and offer this.

you need to ask them to submit the request to the retention or cancellation team because if it's the call centre team, they offer other discount. This is because after my own account, i wanted to downgrade my parents plan to 200mbps

I made a new call and the call centre team only offer RM 10 and RM 50 rebate for 6 months instead so i downgrade the plan to 200mbps and no contract.

Good luck

I can always hit 600Mbps download, but upload has started to come down to around 300Mbps only.

Logged a case and was eventually told there is no issue.

Congestion issue too?
