Hey bro, do you have a workaround yet on this issue?

I'm having this issue particularly when connecting to Oceanic servers i.e. Australia (Gaming to Australia server).

TIME keeps rerouting my connection from MY - SG - Somewhere Taiwan/Hong Kong/Netherlands - then back to Oceanic.

Which by right should be MY - SG - Direct to Oceanic.

I've sent a CHAIN OF EMAILS & TICKETS to TIME CS, but they haven't solved it, I've been chasing since September 2021.

Until now, never being solved, email not replied.

Shit CS. Feel like reporting this to MCMC and changing back to other ISP. Paid so much but having shit routing service.

If anyone here can help me to escalate this issue, please do tell.

I have a plethora of emails, traceroutes and tickets/replies from the game developer I can attach here for reference.
*
just report to MCMC about the routing issue you had and TIME will get back to you wink.gif

Previously they have asked WINMTR from my PC to the IP address im having trouble routing with which I have provided them.

So now they want something called "reverse traceroute"

Do you/ any TIME internet experts have any idea what it means?

Here's the original email:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TIME CS via freshdesk.com
2:36 PM (17 minutes ago)
to me

Hi XXXXX,

Thanks for the trace route WinMTR from TIME (My home internet) to Blizzard's oceanic server (IP : 103.4.115.248)

As per update from our upstream partner, please provide the reverse trace route for further investigation to isolate if routing in symmetrically routed.

Thank you.

reverse traceroute meaning destination to source route

previously you provide traceroute to TIME is source to destination route

The ultimate solution : report to MCMC
I already give up to tell them reroute China Telecom route (you want see how bad TIME to China Telecom? Well
MY - JP - US - CN , 200+ms , 400+ms for peak and 10%+ packet loss,  China Telecom uses NTT Japan from CN - JP - MY , so the problem either is TIME side or China Telecom side , but they should communicate and solve this issue)
And last time every night 100ms+ from TIME KUL to TM KUL with 10%+ packet loss
*
Singtel no longer have peering with CT anymore this is why TIME using AS6453 or NTT

nowadays Singtel to CM or CU no longer in the good as before.

Yeah... routing is messed up.
Since this morning it is again better, but I guess that is most likely just because of the public holiday here...?  sad.gif
*
the best way look on MTR for both side source and destination to identify the issue.

NTT having cable issue from HKG towards JP. that why the ping and speed is abnormal not sure when will be recover.

Btw why time don't change current NTT routing to TATA or He.net routing as they dont have issue towards US.

Seems like TIME is now actively adjusting routing to some China ISP
China Unicom [Not AS4837] :

China Mobile [Reduced Packet Loss & Latency during Peak Time] :
user posted image

China Telecom :
Same , but according to my friend tested he found out that CT peak speed could achieve 100Mbps+ compared to last time <5Mbps
user posted image

Seems like making complaint to TIME for routing issue does work, me and my friend made complaint few days ago regarding this issue.
My IP Range : 202.184.XXX.XXX
*
As for now the Ingress for China Unicom now using Singtel , China mobile now using telia US via Singtel , CT still maintain using NTT

TIME to Singtel is rather congested now

Either that or there's traffic engineering going in

Hi,

My Time 600M contract will be end on 7 July. What option should i use?

1. Renew Time with free router.
2. Terminate time and subscribe maxis 1gb.

Is possible to get Time 600M with RM 99 for first 6 month?
*
I got offer from Time fiber for renew contract with free 6 month bill waiver. You may try ask about this when your contract end.

AFAIK, In the past month until to date, NTT often having congestion during night time especially towards HK,JP,USA (ping above 300-400ms)

But AFAIK there is no submarine network cable broken in between HK and JP

Don't blame NTT, blame the Telco.

I am using another ISP that's using NTT, heck, even my transit provider in SG that's using NTT is not affected.

Wonder why? NTT is charging based on traffic and the ISP is not willing to pay for more hence, more traffic shaping.
*
Is NTT problem, yes but not all affecting on this depend which NTT core router the ISP or provider that linked, i tested my own HK and SGP server both having issue on NTT (ingress and egress using NTT) during night time.

Slower speed, High Ping, Jitter to Singtel Speedtest.
Looks like got worse compared to last year 50ms.
*
NTT having issue on their submarine cable faulty between HKG to SG.

But not sure why NTT route is so weird for Singtel > Time fiber have to bypass HKG

I gotta come here from Unifi thread to laugh at your diagnostic.
Your own MTR screenshot clearly shows there is no problem within NTT network from HK to MY.
Submarine cable broken 404.

The ping spike between NTT and Time is mostly due to congestion of the PNI.
Someone on Time need to host a smokeping server and see the trend clearly.

Example from some great citizen on TM:
https://smokeping.mywebping.com

Now the actual problem is Singtel.
BGP Output:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

You can clearly see there is only 2 egress path:
xn-hkgeq2-bo102.ix.singtel.com (Tung Chung, HK)
xn-paoeq1-bo102.ix.singtel.com (San Jose, USA)

Conclusion:
Singtel do not peer directly with Time, and their egress is sub-optimal as a result
Time has a congestion issue on their upstream with NTT (or maybe a temporary technical issue)
*
Oh really? NTT should layoff the staff who give misinformation on their submarine 404 faulty and give you credit on your so called diagnostic.
