Add RM 10 can get 100Mbps for TIME.
But normally, the coverage for UniFi/Maxis and TIME doesn't really collide each other.
*
ya. indeed good price. somemore it is symmetric speed.

but too bad, very limited coverage. almost no chance to even sign at all.

Hi, I just received my first bill after relocation. But find out that the total bill is RM230.03.

This means Time charges me 6% SST for the package and relocation fee as well. Is this the correct bill or there is an issue with the bill?

wow.. luckily unifi never charge rellocation fee.. tongue.gif

Time should do something already.
Other provider now keep doing a lot of offer and cut price.
Now Astro Fibre even offer 500Mbps for RM90 per month and it is fixed price for 24 months.
*
i am planning to sign up time fibre.

is this astro fibre using time's infrastructure or?

Does CelcomDigi Fibre use Time infra now?

Am really thinking to jump ship to their 300mbps plan and get some rebates since I’m a celcomdigi postpaid customer.
*
impossible. Time never shares infra with other telcos so far.

Call customer service to change the TIME provided modem router into Bridge mode, then you dail PPPOE on your own router

I need to sign up a new time fibre also.

So they provide a 1 x modem + router device and 1 x mesh node?

Just had my time broadband installed. I can only say it is totally disappointed. The ONU Huawei wifi router + modem and mesh are simply trash.

Even the room next to living room that has the ONU connected also could not get more than 200Mbps of speed.

Anyway I can change the stoopig ONU to bridge mode so I can use my own wifi mesh?

Condo WiFi is tough.

RC slab walls blocking signal + high desity of AP from neighbors.
*
yes, absolutely tough, it is even harder to get good coverage and system with the wifi mesh at my double storey landed house previously.

damn..

besides, are these settings even correct in the first place? why mesh wifi is using AP mode?

500Mbps

QUOTE(ChenKaiWen @ Dec 17 2023, 11:58 AM)
Yes that is how it looks. Link speed between AP looks good. I live in landed and had the main unit floor above mesh. I could get 200mbps with around 400 link speed. I think it's something else that's affecting your wifi speed.
*
link speed between the nodes is good but i could not get good speed. sad.gif

That's the performance of AX3000 system  tongue.gif

You need AX6600 and above to get 500Mbps
*
Like that it is even worst than my wifi 5 Linksys mesh. It can at least attain 300Mbps++ of speed at the child node…

QUOTE(eauyong @ Dec 17 2023, 01:36 PM)
500Mbps is rather good wifi speed.
My laptop  get about 425 - 426 Mbps through an aimesh wifi (not wired) node at a distance of 4m from the main router.
*
500Mbps is only attainable within the line of sight and near to the main node. If away also cannot hit full speed.

It is thick and strong obviously to drop the speed that much.

Suffering….

Although latency is still low…

Almost RM4K for a pair, I think.
*
wow... then i just swallow the slow speed then... sweat.gif

i think i will try to do this.

1) change the huawei stoopig ONT to bridge. does time even use PPPoE?
2) use my existing linksys tri-band mesh to see if i can hit above the speed i can get now.. the speed sucks now...
in my previous landed house, i can get 300Mbps++ at least at the child node... but with the thick walls between room, i will see whether can beat the limit. i have 3 x units of the linksys MR8300 mesh wifi router that i can mesh them together...
one connects to the huawei ONT at living room, one places inside study room, one places inside master bed room. and i have one more linksys dual band velop node can place in other blind spot.

is this the part to change to bridge mode? or it just to make a wifi router a child node for mesh?

I don't believe you can change the ONT to bridge mode by yourself,, that GPON/AP setting is unrelated, you gotta ask time to do it for you
(Unless you get your hands on the elusive "telecomadmin" account password)
They'll do it remotely, free

I believe yes, PPPoE is used, VLAN 499, PPPoE credentials can be obtained from account page
*
I did not see the account info.

if i sign up today, how long does it take for the installer to come to my house to install?
*
as long as the date is available, once u chose it, they will come on the date and time selected. it can be even tomorrow (earliest) if there is available slot.

Riding on TIME infra and offering lower price than TIME's own plan.
*
they come out this just 4 days after i installed my time 500Mbps. damn.. else maybe can consider. but the termination clause that one needs to pay all the remaining months of the fees of the contract which is a turn-off.
i prefer time one that anytime terminate only pay rm500. so technically i am given first month free of rm139 now, i terminate now i just pay rm361 by giving them one month notice?
