QUOTE(phantasm0110 @ Oct 8 2018, 12:53 PM) im on the new 500mbps plan, on lan can get full speed, but on wifi only ~200mbps. Is there a solution to the wifi speed? Need to get a new router? any recommendation for router? Cheap cheap one is preferable.

Downgraded my plan to rm139 500/500 from my previous rm189 300/300. More than enough for me since I could only get 850/500 anyway on wired connection with the 1gbps package after the upgrade. My ac68u Wi-Fi maxes out about 350mbps. Time to think about tri-band mesh for better speed with wider range

QUOTE(bpay14 @ Oct 8 2018, 05:12 PM) RM139 vs RM99 is less? meh.. now reset contract, what if i move house and the new place doesn't have TIME coverage? am i getting penalty for terminating the so call new contract? You are on RM149 100mbps 2 year contract now? And Time has revised to RM139 500mbps till the end of your 2 year contract? Stick with the RM10 reduced plan until your current contract ends, if you're not certain about moving house in the next 24 months then. About the termination penalty, I am not sure. QUOTE(idoblu @ Oct 10 2018, 01:41 PM) Isn’t 999 the original price? Pineapple selling at 969 I recall seeing it going for lower price previously. No worries below 1k for tri band mesh is a fairly good deal.

QUOTE(warrior @ Oct 10 2018, 04:40 PM) 5Ghz 1x1 MIMO on 802.11ac up to 200+Mbps and what's the greatest powerline maximum bandwidth? Hint: Check smallnetbuilder for powerline test result. I have a pair of AV1200 powerline nodes at home. My PC in the study room can only get about 150-200mbps on speedtest. The TP-Link utility claims that both my nodes are connected at 850mbps ha ha.

QUOTE(baliwesti @ Oct 11 2018, 12:21 PM) Forgot to mention my setup is something like: Router -- cat6 cable -- powerline ----> powerline -- cat 6 cable --- desktop Same for me, but I use av1200 tp-link powerline plugs. Planning to retire the powerline setup and move to mesh wifi soon. Probably TP-Link Deco m9 plus.

QUOTE(brandonkl @ Oct 11 2018, 04:54 PM) Speedtests in the afternoon from 1 to 7 pm is generally the slowest as I only get max 500 Mbps. I guess this is the peak hours. Is that so? Good thing I downgraded to 500/500 then. Getting my full package speed now.
Even over AV1200 powerline (so called 900+ Mbps link), I can still get 200Mbps from my PC.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Oct 12 2018, 07:40 PM) Why is it that I can get around 400-500Mbps only in the early mornings? At night around 250-350Mbps only But if test using my router’s internal Speedtest, I can get 500Mbps. This buildin Speedtest should be using Lan correct? So it’s not because night time more ppl are using and congested as I’m still getting that speed to my router via Lan just cannot get via Wifi Wifi congestion since more people are back home and using the internet?

QUOTE(idoblu @ Oct 12 2018, 10:19 PM) I’m just wondering if I stand really close to the router, does other lesser strength signals can interfere with mine? I dunno but if your speedtest via LAN gives same results during both day and night, the problem may be something in your environment itself.

QUOTE(outlife11 @ Oct 16 2018, 05:35 PM) any 1 using powerline adapter? what the speed like? I have a pair of tp-link av1200 plugs. Router in the living room and PC in the study room (1 wall in between, 8m away). TP-Link utility claims a 900mbps connection between the plugs. PC connected directly to router in the living room gets 500/500. PC in the study room gets 130-190mbps up and down. Moving to mesh Wi-Fi soon in November.

QUOTE(freechuan @ Oct 27 2018, 07:26 PM) Guys, I just install Time Fibre 100mbps today. I am using home plug to connect to my pc in my room, I only can get 33.4mbps download speed and 45.9mbps upload speed. Any idea what is the problem not getting upto 100mbps speed? Home plug problem? Home plug cable problem ? The home plug stated can reach upto 500mbps. Could be home plug technology limitation. I’m using AV2 1200mbps plugs and I can only get around 150-200mbps internet at the study room.

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 27 2018, 11:13 PM) Wow! How much you bought? You ordered the normal or the 2 pack type? Powerline not so good. Due to electronic interference. Do share out the speed near the main and the second router. Hope can get above 250Mbps using Mesh Wi-Fi. Do let me know what's the maximum speed you can get around the house. Hope is better than using only one router. Thanks. The standard price. Ordered the 2 pack bundle from @yeapch. Will probably get it sometime in Nov. Firstly, I will need to capture the internet speeds around the home with my current AC68U
