I disabled the 2.4GHz band on my router and left only the 5GHz active but this is a major mistake because there is major channel congestion—my Wi-Fi kept dropping. After making the change, I tried logging back into the router's control panel but couldn’t—looks like I made an amateur mistake and forgot the password.

No problem, I thought—I’ll just reset it. But after the reset, while I can now access the admin panel, there’s no option anywhere to enter my PPPoE credentials. No button, no field, nothing. Is there a special way to enter pppoe credentials on time new router? HG8145B7N
Am I stuck?

I think you may need the telecomadmin details to access that

But, I think it should be able to automatically get their configuration from the server

So, just leave it plugged in and see if it will eventually get it's config back

Seeing you have messed up the settings, I presume you are not familiar with time's router settings.
Please give a call to CS & they will push over the Internet profile.

Just buy your own router and buy something high end that's at least RM400 or more

Cheap routers cant handle busy network conditions at high density condo

Yesterday around 10:30AM, suddently my Asus TUF Gaming router stop receiving WAN IP from TIME Wifi Modem Router (Bridge Mode).

Perform troubleshoot option (Factory reset Asus Router, restore backup config, disable DNS-over-TLS in WAN) still failed getting WAN IP.

Then I found the problem.

WAN Connection Type: PPPOE option in WAN setting with User & Password no more supported cause stop receiving WAN IP.

Switch connection type to 'Automatic IP', then start receiving IP from Time modem & can access to internet.

Also for IPV6, Native IPV6 also not working & only works when switch to 'Passthrough' option and getting IPV6 address.

So my question, what the hell Time is doing messup with the Time Modem config cause this issue?

It means they reset your system and your combo modem is no longer operating in bridge mode

Give them a call again and ask them to change it to bridge mode

Same problem with me on Wednesday morning. The TIME technicians that called me still have the gall to say that the modem were never put in bridge mode, as though that's my fault not setting it properly. I have set up this 2 years ago (and ask the CS to put it in bridge mode, that's not even by me) and never touch it.....

Anyway, good to have confirmation somewhere TIME internet messed up and reset the modem to not be in bridge mode and it's not only happening to me.

huhu.. why not delete the backdoor access (remote) to prevent time from accessing the time modem and mess with the setting inside.

Happened to me before. I set the bridge mode myself instead of contacting CS. They upgraded equipment at 12am. A new config pushed to my ONT, which changed it back to route mode. Was wondering why it’s still down and noticed the ONT wifi is enabled again. Checked it, fibre reading improved.

TR-069 is not used for configuring ONT as far as I know. All ONT connected can receive config directly from OLT.

certainly not, my equipment can hit 600Mbps no issue for sure. It is the inconsistent speed by time at my apartment.

No certainly not, you are still using Wireless AC and any Wireless AC system is not consistent at hitting 600Mbps laugh.gif

Try testing over LAN cable instead

Using WiFi to test is always bad, especially in a noisy environment.

i suggest u download wifiman (assuming u use android) onto smartphone. then check ur wifi signal dbm. just because ur speed is good in one area, doesnt mean its the same in another. so try walk around and see ur results (both signal and the local speed test)

then also run openspeedtest self hosted
https://github.com/openspeedtest/Speed-Test

this can check whether ur wifi has any issues or not.

u say inconsistent. i would first suspect wifi signal not good, too much interference? or simply ur wifi thoroughput using that wifi ap is bad but u did not realize. Check that first.

Once u rule that out, then ok then check other things hmm.gif

or u can skip all that and go straight to wired and see its improved or not. id still want to check wifi is not the issue if i were u since its something i actually use smile.gif
