I came from Unifi previously.

I am forced to use time bb due to no Unifi at the apartment I stay.

My experience can confirm that time bb has no significant benefits over Unifi expect that for lower speed plan e.g. 500Mbps plan and below, it has higher upload speed but to most users this is not something crucial since most do not need that kind of upload speed unless one is content creator.

And in terms of speed and latency, time bb to me has no advantage also.

In fact during peak hours, I cannot attain full speed of my 600Mbps at all, I believe it is due to shared bandwidth for all users staying in the same apartment. But Unifi I have no issue, I can attain full speed with low latency all the time.

And now Unifi has retention plan for users who have no contract which they can get 500Mbps at rm99 price per month which is absolutely better deal than time bb now.

So conclusion, time bb really has no advantage over other isps now.

Just switched to U Home Fibre (April 2024), is it really this bad? On 100mbps plan but even YouTube at 720p sometime buffer. Is it just me? (I think rarely had this issue with TIME's 100Mbps plan before)

Smaller ISPs are usually like that.

That's why I usually recommend to stick with Unifi, Maxis, TIME even though you can get a cheaper price from those smaller providers.

More and more condo are offering small in-house ISPs.

Now Penang have ifiber, stability not sure yet, but routing to China is a lot better than TIME. I think is partnership with MAXIS
One way to find out is go to https://myip.expert/ to get the ASN number then use that ASN number at https://bgpview.io to see its upstream providers.

TIME's China routing is just horrible, even Unifi is much better than TIME on China routing

That's why I terminated my TIME too, most of my smart home devices from Taobao are not working properly

similar situation here. but i have zero experience with time so your feedback is pretty useful.

i went with unifi since thats what i used before. i just assumed the tmnut unifi would be more stable. no issues for me. but i have no idea if time would be better or not, its not that more expensive, but it has 300 mbps vs unifi 100 mbps. i dont download much so that doesnt matter too much to me, i just want a stable low latency internet at cheapest laugh.gif

but this retention plan does not apply to new subscribers or does it? when i subscribe they only offered the standard 100 mbps sad.gif i guess the stay with unifi doesnt work until ur 2 year lapses first before u can try that trick?

even blacktubi doesnt seem to like time, so even more of a reason for me to sus sweat.gif

anyway for unifi tmnut 100 mbps, dont notice any particular issues, just works. of course i dont use isp dns rolleyes.gif

If you are consuming mainstream content with good CDN like Netflix, Youtube, TikTok and etc then TIME is perfectly fine

In fact, TIME is great for that use case as their 600Mbps plan is really good value for $$, I recommend many of my friends to choose TIME purely for this

But when it comes to China routing, I think other ISP is currently better.

Wow. Only one upstream provider. That means if got routing issue, then there is nothing much your ISP can do.

Do check your selfcare portal for any offer.
If no, then call the CS to 'request' for it.

I disabled the 2.4GHz band on my router and left only the 5GHz active but this is a major mistake because there is major channel congestion—my Wi-Fi kept dropping. After making the change, I tried logging back into the router's control panel but couldn’t—looks like I made an amateur mistake and forgot the password.

No problem, I thought—I’ll just reset it. But after the reset, while I can now access the admin panel, there’s no option anywhere to enter my PPPoE credentials. No button, no field, nothing. Is there a special way to enter pppoe credentials on time new router? HG8145B7N

Am I stuck?
