I use DS3 rev 1.0 mobo, should be fine I guess, I can see Dattebayo's point about it touching the SATA port, looking at it seems spacy enough to accomodate lah but if it does touch my SATA cable connector head then might have to switch them to use different ports.

Gosh, how lucky you guys can target those high end cards (GTX,GTS)...I am just sitting there hoping the price will drop but there aint any movement of the price at all for now..Not sure when will they start to drop...

Do you guys think 8600GT SLI will outperform a Single 8600GTS?And by how much?
*
oh man... now u re thinking SLI 8600gt pulak... sweat.gif

although it can outperform 8600gts, but the cost u spent will exceed one single 8800gts doh.gif

even SLI'ed 8600gts it wont touch 8800gts lar...

hey... guys.. what is the difference between ForceWare 158.24 Vista 32-bit WHQL and NVIDIA ForceWare 158.45 Vista 32-bit?

it's here,

158.45 is more for the 8800 series with more SLi optimisations n also better performance in Company Of Heroes DX10 version.

Single card users shud stick with 158.24 as recommended by Nvidia.

No No No..Dont misunderstand me. Its just my curiosity on how it will perform..LOL..I am still torn between both ways which is spend more (eat ALOT of bread for the coming week) on the 8800GTS or save more on the 8600GTS. Considering the price between the 2, there is still a considerable RM400 difference which makes me ponder my necessity...

My cousin had personally tested COH on 22" native resolution on High Setting and its still playable. Only slight lag when there are many units around. Therefore, i do feel 8600GTS will surely be able to handle that without any problem..

The problem is, it is down to impossible to find it over here in Malaysia. I have personally asked a few people about it and even ScanArt are not bringing them in as well. Unless i wanna import it back from somewhere which i do not really wan to do so as the cost will reach the same of the GTS..Anyway, i will keep my finger crossed for now..Have to see how long my nerve could last me, whether to wait and save more for the 8800 or to get the 8600GTS instead..Have been waiting too long and ask too many questions already..

But using anything below 8800GTS to power up your LCD really didn't sound good to me... sweat.gif what is your budget for GC actually??

I myself... at first planning to get a few more stuff for my rig but decided to cut it down just so that I would have enough budget for 8800GTS... at any rate I'm still waiting for my money though so currently I don't have any gc too.

LOL..I have that same feeling as well but i have personally asked my cousin to test some games for me with his 7600GS and currently, they are playable even on native resolution and HIGH setting (even on COH). That clear my doubt abit and after seeing some review on Guru3D about games performance on 22" native, it does seem that 8600GTS are able to handle it well. Of course, it will surely be not as good as the 8800GTS..

My budget, i could definitely afford a 8800GTS 320MB now providing i am eating bread for this whole month. LOL..Not to mention, i will not have extra saving in case of emergency which is a situation that i do not want to be in. The price for XFX 8800GTS at Spore is definitely a gem there. Go look around for people who wanted to buy one. They can go as low as 1k only.

Anyway, i already make up my mind for now on the 8600GTS. And since no one that is having this card currently who is able to test it out, i might just be the first scape goat.LOL..I dont mind it wont be able to handle games on MAX setting. For the time being, i consider it as a replacement. Who knows in the coming 1/2year i might change again as what happen to my 7300GT now..LOL...By that time, i will surely be looking for the mainstream ones. For now, i consider an upgrade from 7300GT to 8600GTS (priced around RM680) as a good upgrade though..Besides, considering i am getting this in Malaysia, the difference between 8600GTS and 8800GTS is still a crazy RM 400 at the very least and thats very high for me..

I doubt you will be able to find one below 1k. If there is, it will be bought very very soon. Anyway, not many people would want to sell this card as off now unless they are really that hardcore though..Been looking for one that cost around RM900 for so long and they dont seem to appear anyway...Maybe in another month or two..
