Just wondering, anyone knows where i can get XFX 8600GTS here in Malaysia and would the ST56F be powerful enough to power up the 8600GTS or maybe the 320MB 8800GTS?

Thanks..I was waiting for ATI all these time but was worried about the 8pin connector thingy from PSU and with the price of the 86series seems to be coming down slightly every now and then, i guess maybe its time to give it a try..Preferbly to get the 8600GT/GTS from XFX..

I would not purchase a 8600series unless i could find the XFX or maybe other brand that offers a good price though..For now, i am getting tired of waiting for ATI to at least show us, the consumer, something more of the mid end series..Anything over 1k is totally out of my hands for now. Was eagerly waiting for the 8800 series to drop to about 900..lol..Then i can start to aim for one..


Not to mention, show us the difference in that game using those DX9 card as well..

lol..just wondering, is the 8series card still running on beta driver or the current driver from Nvidia is already matured, stable?

Might be due to the problem with demo version...

Yea, same guess with me.Try disabling the onboard Graphics first and see whether it works..

Guys, anyone of you bought the Galaxy 8600GTS?Do you know what cooler it is using?I saw some review stating that it is using the Zalman VF900 cooler but from their website, it doesnt looks like it. More to me like a Zerotherm GX810..

Anyway, i know Galaxy always make mistake in their website. They even state that the 8600GTS is running on 320bit ..

Ouch, things is getting crazier.I even saw a new 8600GE by Galaxy that matches the performance of the 8600GTS.The benchmark they made shows that the 8600GT/GE had beaten the GTS in some way..Is this even real..Man, i should wait and see whats next..

But which cooler is that?Cause the design doesnt seem to be the VF900.After looking it for long, it doesnt seem to be Zerotherm as well cause it only have 1 heatpipe which zerotherm have 2..

Yea, the 8500GE does seem to be something good.lol.Any difference between the GT and GE?.But i was only surprised at the benchmark done by Galaxy which state that the 8600GT/GE beat the 8600GTS..

Does this mean the only difference between the GE and GT is they are pre-OCed?

Ok guys, i need some clear up in my mind right now..

Been thinking of these for while and hopefully you guys can help me out here..

I have a confusion in term of the usage of bits on a GC. When comparison is being done between the 6800 and the 7600, people are saying that the 7600 will be better even though the 6800 have more muscle and higher bit (256bit VS 128bit). I understand that it is due to newer technology that compensate the lost in bits, making the 7600 a better card..

Mystery solved there. However, doesnt this implies on the 8series as well?Many people here have said that they are disappointed in having only 128bit on the 8600 series (including myself for no reason) and resolve in buying the 7900GS just for the sake of some proven performance and a higher bit (again, 128bit VS 256bit). Wouldnt a newer technology in the 8series compensate in the lost of bits, and making the 8600 a better card?

Ok. I get the point there..So, would this means since the 8600GT/GTS also have higher core/memory speed compared to the 7900GS, wouldnt the 8600GT be a good buy as well (only difference for GT and GTS is the bandwidth)?I mean, the higher bandwidth would compensate for the lost of bit right?

Anyone knows is there any 8600GTS that comes with Black PCB?And is it a good buy now considering the Palit 8600GTS cost about RM700 only?

And anyone that had been to CYCOM before?Care to check out the Galaxy 8600GTS price?Its stated in their pricelist at RM720 (Promotion) but there is another Galaxy 8600GTS Zalman at RM8XX..If the RM720 is also using Zalman, then its a great buy for me..

O..Guess i need to check it out then..But its hard to find Inno3D products in LYP right?

I just check it out already.Inno3D is using reference board which is the green PCB. I dont like the green color though..lol...

I can only see one or two company using their own board only. Most of them are using the green PCB.I was hoping XFX release a Black PCB but they only did on the 8600GT..Too bad though..

Well, i am looking for a replacement urgently for now and i could not wait for so long though.Currently looking into 2 of them which is the 8600GT and GTS. Still thinking of which to get. The reason i am looking into the GTS is i have a feeling of - if i could afford a GTS, why i wanted to lower it to the GT. Of course, not all GTS is affordable. Those are in the range of RM700. I could not top up more to get the 8800GTS cause i already max out my budget. Anyway, waiting for the 8800GTS to drop to around RM700 seems irrelevant to me. The reason is, how long would the waiting takes.End of the year maybe?And by that time, people would look into other solution as well at the same time..

Anyway, i have seen 8600GTS selling for about RM680+. Seems like its dropping and a good deal to me if i could afford. Hopefully by the time i get it, maybe next week, it would reach around RM650 or lower. lol...Anyway, the problem that is bothering me now is that i might not be able to use my Zerotherm anymore in these new GC. And it would be a waste though..Thats why i am looking into those that are running their own PCB like Galaxy that seems to be able to fit the Zerotherm..

Well, personally for me, at first, i do feel that the GTS is not worthit due to its high price. But now at below RM700, i do feel it will be a wise choice to those who have it. I still havent see anyone that is using the GTS commenting about anything though which makes me wanna try it out and see..lol..If given that it can be OCed even higher, i guess its worth the money..

And me for one, craving insanely for just a single 320MB 8800GTS..Wouldnt even seeing that coming true..lol..

Guys, would the 8600GT be able to support uber high resolution on 22" Widescreen LCD? I have seen review stating that gaming with the 8600GT is good enough on 1240 * 1024 resolution etc and anything higher is almost unbearable. So, if i am going to purchase a 22" LCD in the future, would getting the 8600GT be a wise choice?
