Any review on Sharp LC50UA6800X, is it better then samsung mu6100, samsung ks7000 and sony x800?

as I know this sharp tv is upgrade from ue630x because got HDR

Off topic: Is Sharp cheating? That is 4K resolution not 8K. I check both Sharp Malaysia and Singapore and both give same resolution under specification. lol

8K is 7680 x 4320 not 3840 x 2160. 3840 x 2160 is 4K resolution.

Sometimes maybe they copied and paste the specification instead of checking why not call the Sharp customer service and asked them

Sharp Philippine write in more details. It is 8K resolution in 4K panel. Lol
Customer service normally even worst know about details specification.

Anyway I no money to buy also and no need 80", 60" is far than enough for me already to put in living hall. I just check around and sudden found out.

if i remember correctly, this p7000 series is only smart tv, not androidtv.

so, 6800x has a bonus!

then again, sharp north america has been sold to hisense - will not be the same in all aspects.

Already went to shop to see 6800x, only 60inch panel above are made in japan

build quality seem drop a bit compare to my current le830 to be honest, a bit plasticky

hmm... that, i can't really do.

becos i have not judged them side by side and have not used a sony for a long long time.

but i have used the sharp's predecessor ue630x for 2 years now; the ua6800x is an improvement over it.

am i happy with the ue630x? yes, extremely!

i will suggest u u vist the stores a couple more times and judge with own eyes vis-a-vis the prices.

other things to consider, for me at least:

.. compare same size... 50" vs 50, 60 vs 60.
.. no of hdmi inputs... i think the sharp has 4, the sony has 3.
.. smart tv... how smart... i think the sharp is androidtv, the sony is smart with own platform/apps... not sure.
.. ethernet/wifi dual band... 2.4/5ghz... think both has.
.. warranty, extended warranty price.

i know a lot of people w/o hesitation will say "buy sony", w/o even taking a second look at the details.

but i suggest u look pass the brand, get into the details, esp what u expect out of it.

i am not rushing to buy it but is considering, maybe sometime this year.

this ua6800x has all that i am looking for:
.. hdr
.. androidtv, 5ghz
.. 4 hmdi inputs
.. fit nicely into my existing wall mount bracket

not interested in tv usb player as i have my own better player.

I am not eyeing for Sony just because "it's a Sony" thing....i did noticed the clarity and sharpness of its 'x-reality pro' tech prowess is impressive. In fact, IMHO, both the sharpness and clarity is one notch higher than sharp ue630x for the same screen size. I did managed to see both the screen side by side.

That being the case, your decision should be easy...

Senq melawati has the ua6800x..very impressive..i view it side by side with ue630x..ua6800x win all.. Even the speaker for ua6800x is so much better compare to the other. I can't make up my mind yet because I m looking for 65". 60" to 65" make a difference? Anyone can recommend 65" TV comparable to ua6800x?

To me, the important thing in choosing the 60” vs 65”is the viewing distance.
For my living room, with viewing distance of 15 ft, even the 65” seems not wide enough and I had to re-adjust my viewing distance to 8-9 feet.

Try viewing both sizes at the shop at the viewing distance that u’ll be using at home.

Haven’t been to SenQ MM for quite some times, so will try to drop by to compare the UA6800x with 630x

Normally, the 5-year warranty is given when retailers like ESH, Desa, etc partner with Sharp in any electrical, home or other expo.
If you buy the product at the expo, Sharp normally gives the 3-year extended warranty FOC and even subsidised further their partners so that can sell at cheaper price if compared from buying from their retail outlets.
This was what some of the promoters told me when I shopped around for ue630x last year

Yes 5 years warranty. The extended 3 years is also from sharp directly.

The 60" UA6800X was sold for RM4799 at the just ended Renovation Expo at KL Convention Centre. The non-Android version was RM4250. Both came with 5 years warranty. The PQ was noticeably better compared to the 630X, but not sure how it compares with other brands models. Price is quite good IMO.

On the size, personally, I prefer to go for 65" since its the biggest you can go without getting into crazy price category. 60" is much smaller than 65" in terms of viewing area and will not be a proper upgrade for me. But it may make sense for others because the price point is quite good.

Also saw 2 new Toshiba models which looked good too but can't remember the model numbers.

Finally managed to compare side by side the 630x against 6800x in ESH kepong. based on own eyes perception, the 6800x is definitely a brighter and clearer panel compared to 630x (both on dynamic mode), the luminescence is a major step up but don't know why the details is a bit lacking. The texture output on the 6800x is strangely less rich. This is not what i expected considering Sharp is promoting their x4 engine pro second generation which is supposed to be a step up from the 630x.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to compare side by side the Sony x70E and X80E against 6800x, but i do find the 6800x motion to be a bit jittery compared to Sony TV.

Price wise, 50" is RM3499 with 5 years warranty and 60" is RM5299.

dynamic mode... the usual mode they use in the shop since ambience is bright.

this mode, seldom use at home... usually standard or movie... for videos.

Need to consider the source that is being played also. Always best to bring your own 4K HDR 50/60hz files to test. Usually, they play the same unknown source in stores on many displays. Sometimes they use 1080p source since there are non-4K displays in the chain as well. If you notice, the LG Oled in places like Harvey Norman always plays a different source compared to the other non-OLED tvs.

I didn't test the other day coz I was not keen on buying yet but would be interested to know what panels they use and if its really better than the 630X. To my eyes they appeared better due to the brighter screen and better colours but can't really say anything about details & HDR. Sharp models are hard to research about due to the models are not global.

The Toshiba models I mentioned earlier are IPS panels but they did look very good. To my eyes, some IPS panels look better than lower end VA panels due to colour and brightness which bring out HDR very well. But black levels are bad so watching movies at night in the dark is not very immersive. For living room TV, IPS is usually a good choice if budget constrained.

How is the picture quality compared to the Sony KD65X7000E and Panasonic TH-65EX600K?

Both of these also have 4K HDR.

I didn't see them side by side and test with a 4k HDR file so cannot say for sure. But those 2 are entry level 4K TVs and I remember not being impressed with the Sony X70E.

Normally SenHeng/SenQ should come with manufacturer's standard warranty plus additional 1 year in-house warranty for SenHeng/SenQ members.

well, some people dun really care if it is smarttv or androidtv - as long as there is youtube and netflix.

i look for more... and i use android boxes a lot.

only with androidtv can u sideload all other apps, just like those in yr android phone or android tablet or android box.

it is nice to have some apps in the tv such that with just the tv on alone, i can have all the good stuff.

not just youtube and netflix but other apps that provide int'l news, int'l tv channels, movies, tv shows - in hd.

androidtv can also take local iptv apps like astrogo, unifi playtv and ilfix.

one can say no need that, use separate box.

to that, i say why not hv both, can use the box somewhere else or for other purpose!

the androidtv in this tv is fairly good one, i will give it a value of rm400.

Different video but both paying full HD video. in those 4k scenic videos both also smooth.

I know we don't always set to dynamic mode when watching but it is a basic way to gauge how much brightness (nits) a panel can produced and clearly the 6800x has the upperhand in this aspect against its former 630x.

i can tell you with confidence after loitering at Harvey Norman for few hours until the sales rep also fed up with me, the Sony is definitely the winner when it comes to PQ.

Sony wins in terms of the followings:

1) motion smoothness is definitely its forte.
2) colour saturation is notch better than panasonic with its x-reality pro processing capability
3) VA panels easily outputs contrast ratio around 3500 - 3900 :1 as opposed to IPS panels of ~1000:1 which is the IMPORTANT THING
4) Deeper blacks and brighter
5) Uniformity of backlights.

Panasonic win in terms of the followings:

1) better colour reproduction with IPS panels against VA panels
2) Hexa Chroma - 6 colours base colours pixel thus more accurate colour reproduction (don't know true or not, at least that is what Panasonic claims)
3) Wide viewing angle
4) additional layer of screen in front of the panel to improve protection for preventing children from damaging the screen by poking too hard.

Don't have to wait for the next promotion. You should be able to get that price and maybe even lesser at big electrical shops with the extended warranty as well. Can try SS2 or USJ shops.

Ss2 legend, esh and one living. Then usj10 there is a big corner electrical shop, don't remember the name. The usj one was the cheapest when I bought my tv 2 years ago. They also have senheng and hkl in the same row, but the corner was the cheapest.

No such thing as standardized pricing in local electrical goods shops. That price you got is probably their standard retail price. In their system, they usually have the cost price and the best price they can give you. If they don't share the best price, then ask them for the price you want, and they will counter you with the price they can give. If they said "rugi lor / saya untung 10 ringgit saja" nonsense, then leave and take your business elsewhere.

so did I, went to ask a few shop already, couldnt get lower than 5299 for 5 years warranty. those with only 2 years warranty, the best price i got was rm4799

The warranty is from sharp. The price shouldn't differ for the warranty but this is how the shops operate. Keep trying and you will find it at that price for 5 years warranty. I'll try to find the details of the shop at the expo.

went to one electrical shop yesterday at KLCC. so was surveying the androidtv then the sales guy come and ask "why do you need androidtv, it tends to be lag and virus"..

One feature I like about the 6800 vs 6300 is that it can continue to play the screen you are watching while browsing for other selection. Apart from that, it is clearer and has better sound quality.

The SAs has advised to download additional apps like terrarium and kodi to powerup the contents. Is there a forum for apps review for android or sharp? Need to look for sport channels too since World Cup is coming.

Thinking of pulling the trigger soon at 5299.

What I observe sharp original warranty only 2 yrs. Senq+1yr from themselves, esh +3yrs from sharp... Esh told me they pay extra for that.

The accountant from ESH or the owner told you that? Or was it the salesman? Can trust the salesman? Most of them don't even know about the products they sell. About warranties and how that works, salesmen will not know that.

Yeah Man. The way the salesman demonstrated the 6800x made it look as if it is a lousy picture and sound quality led tv. If not because of what you guys have said, I wouldn’t have walked away.

Normally during expo where Sharp SAs also present, the free 3 years extended warranty are subsidised by Sharp. This is what the Sharp SA told me, as I bought my 630 where the retailer is Desa Home, while my friend bought his 630 where the retailer is ESH.

Both were bought during expo (different expo though) and both came with free 3 years extended warranty and in both expo, the Sharp SAs were present too.

On a separate note, I saw at SenQ Melawati Mall the 60" 6800x has a price tag of RM4188. Could be a typo error or maybe the price is for the 50", but the tag is next to a 60" and there was not a 50" model on display.
I did not ask further on the price as no SA was around near the TV section

Sharp SAs present, you get 3 extra years. if no Sharp SAs, they wanna sell you the extra 3 years instead of giving it to you priced in.
Just check lazada to see how many retailers charge extra for free gifts given by distributor or just sell them separately.
