It was like that before i update youtube.  So i thought my youtube version outdated but after latest update 3 days ago, no changes.
Hmmm, i am using time broadband 100MB package. No problem watching 4K video.  If i reset android, what else would be affected? settings become default? factory setting?
*
no, not talking about factory reset.

settings, info... restart.

it just close all apps, restart the andorid.

safe, dun worry. biggrin.gif

I just get a 630x and a Samsung Smart TV. What bother me is the 630x is much more complicated and unstable. I used to cast alot of YouTube. The first clip normally ok but when continue the second clip it will become black screen with sound only. Now, I can't even cast any because my Smart phone can't find the TV! Tried restart tv, restart Wi-Fi and my phone but still the same... any sifu here can advise?

Thanks for the update, can work on phone also right?

Btw, is UE630x still the best buy now after 2 years?

There are some clearance models like the Sony 7000 series going for RM3.3k 65in but no andriod tv.. the 630x still goes for RM5k+
*
Am actually looking for the 65" Sony 7000 series, but so far cheapest i found is Rm4k on Lazada.. Where did you see the 3.3k bro?

I'm currently having an issue with my Sharp UE630X - 50". It just won't play .srt files from the usb drive unless I combine the sub file with the video file. Tried vlc,mx player and archos player but still failed. It was working fine earlier then had a motherboard change by Sharp technician since my tv unable to auto-update to latest android version which stops me from watching Netflix as it requires me to update my android version first. I'm also having an issue to install apps other than google playstore now..have turned off the security to allow installation from other than google playstore but still the "INSTALL" button is greyed out when trying to install 3rd party apps. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

it is quite normal that the srt must be named same as main file in the same folder for it to play.
if u mean embedded subs can't be played, it typically means it is a new format embedded, player can't read.
like i hv said many times, the tv player is not good, can only do small, simple videos well; will struggle with bigger newer types.
time u buy a box player!

possibly due to updated firmware/security patch, some apps fail to sideload with es file explorer.
the "install" button is washed out, cannot be clicked on for some apps.
however, there is a workaround - use of x-plore app from playstore and a simple trick - on/off with remote, resume X-plore to install.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuEYd1fpstU&feature=youtu.be

the android6.0 of this tv is still good for many things.
incl sideloaded apps - astrogo, unifi playtv.
i even used acestream+reddit soccerstreams for live wc2018, good.
just be mindful not to sideload dubious apps that may contain malware.
normally, the security of the tv will stop it and not install at all if it detects it, but try to stay away from unknown suspicious apps.

.. Yeah i always ensure the .srt file name matches with the movie file name. It worked well before however after the 6.0 update stopped recognizing he .srt file.

guys, i have upgraded! biggrin.gif

after 2.5 years with lc50ue630x, i have upgraded to lc60ua6800x, 4k HDR.
the main reason for the change was ue630x cannot do HDR videos nicely although it is excellent for 1080p and 4k.
the ue630x was a fabulous tv for me, incl the use of the andoridtv.
it has been moved to a room where i continue to enjoy it.

if u r looking for a 4k HDR tv, consider the current sharp model, my comments below:

i received my lc60ua6800x today... been playing with it for hours! biggrin.gif

it's rather easy for me to set up everything and test all that i want to since i have used the predecessor lc50ue630x for 2.5 years now.

the tv is used together with himedia q10pro android box, denon avr, unifi tv stb and unifi 100mbps wifi.

below some of my initial findings and comments:-

.. 60" is significantly larger than 50"! well, that's how i felt on the first day.
my eyes are still getting used to it sitting at 10-12ft sway.
.. the remote is a 2-in-1 (with voice search) compared to the previous model which has 2 remotes.
i find the buttons too close to each other.... problem with mis-pressing with my fat fingers. tongue.gif
.. the UI is good, better than the last one, quicker in accessing controls, settings, etc.
.. the native usb player has improved in that it can now read ntfs, 2TB hdd; but... it can only do aac and dolby audio.
can't do dts or other higher - u just get video, no audio. this is not a problem for me as i dun use the tv for hdd playback.
.. use of airmouse or wireless mouse is fine, no problem.
.. sideloaded apps on androidtv (android 7.0) work fine - astrogo and a couple more for news, int'l live tv channels... for casual viewing.
(i do not want to put too many as i prefer to use my android box for others like kodi and acestream.)
.. youtube works good, plays 1080p, 4k with ease. (not using netflix... no comments.)
.. tv audio is surprisingly not bad... maybe due to this "eilex prism" feature.
.. optical arc is fine, all tv audio whether from tv usb player, androidtv apps or other player will work with arc - dolby digital works if applicable.
.. the wifi module is good, works on 5ghz just like its predecessor.

.. using my box for local playback, HDR works fine. if the file u play is HDR, "HDR" will be displayed when u press the display button on the remote.
.. i tried a variety of files and no surprise the 2160p hdr10 files come out the best followed by full 1080p ones.
.. HDR10 videos surely have deeper and brighter colors.
.. this tv is definitely brighter than its predecessor - even the default settings on the modes - std, movie, dynamic, etc. are quite bright.
unless u activate OPC which will get too dim.
.. i like standard mode most but may use an adjusted dynamic mode for some HDR videos.

overall, i m satisfied with it - it does what i expected it to do.

from desa home theater.. for rm3.5k, 5 year warranty, free delivery+installation, 1-for-1 exchange within 7 days if faulty.. i can't and won't ask for more! rclxms.gif

ue630x is almost 3 years old.

old and not so old - for a 4k tv running on androidtv 6.

i like this tv very much, still using it but now using ua6800x more.

the androidtv is the same in both models.

below, i share a few things, maybe useful for ue630x users.

ASTROGO/Sideload Apps:

for those who want to sideload astrogo 8.2.4 (there is official and modified versions, either will work) or any other app.

1. install x-plore app from tv playstore. this is a file manager... to read and install apps u hv in a thumb drive.
during installation, u may find the word "install" washed out, can't install. if so, use a simple trick, on/off of remote, to resume installation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuEYd1fpstU&feature=youtu.be

2. astrogo needs a mouse to navigate - can use any wireless mouse, airmouse.

3. need to install and set to default the indic keyboard from tv playstore as the default leanback keyboard is incompatible.

4. need to install a rotation lock app to get landscape rather than portrait. such an app cannot be found in tv playstore, get it from pc. e.g.:
https://adaptive-rotation-lock-free.en.uptodown.com/android
after installation, open it, set to adaptive/landscape.

5. astrogo needs a package installer - this, u achieve by installing a browser.
get apk from pc... can use chrome or brave or firefox.

6. as astrogo is not an androidtv approved app, it does not appear at the home UI after installation.
you need to manually find it in settings, apps, open it from there.
or u install from playstore a sideload launcher; with this app, all other apps can be found and opened.

been using astrogo for 3 years now... on 50ue630x and 60ua6800x.

if this or any app app get stuck or hung, just power off tv or go to settings to restart the android.

caution: the tv has security features to stop a malicious app from being installed.
still, i advise NOT to install unknown, unproven, suspicious apps in the tv.
if malware is bad enough, it may brick your tv.

ue630x is still a great TV for me.

a tip for those using astrogo 8.2.4 official...

for landscape orientation, best to use below app... becos it keeps its landscape even if u cut off power and repower up, not put on standby.

https://apkpure.com/set-orientation/com.goo....setorientation

astrogo also becomes more stable with this app.

enjoy!

Anyone using their ue630X with TP LINK AC1200 with > 100Mbps broadband plan....

Can share you max speed? running on 5Ghz channel.

The router is place at bottom of the TV. Can only manage to get < 150 Mbps. Signal excellent. Separated Channel.

My himedia Q5 pro place slightly lower then the router manage to get at least 200 ++ mbps.

Quick question... What do you actually do with your TV that absolutely requires > 150Mbps internet speeds? A PC or smartphone? I can understand as those are workhorses. But a TV? Just saying.. sweat.gif

according to the specs, this ue630x (and successor ua6800x):

WiFi 802.11ac (max1.3Gbps)
https://sharp.com.sg/web/products/prodDetail.asp?prodId=639

that tplink router is poor... 100-200mbps is what u will get.

Wow didn't realise its been 3 years, I wonder what's the best option now? 65" entry level prices start as low as rm2k+ it's become the 55" prices 3 years before. Why do u need optical cable for 5.1 instead of using hdmi with audio return?
