RM4099 for 60inUE630 is good price.

By da way, my UE630 has a funny habit. When i try to switch it off using the remote, it will turn on itself again seconds later! happens so many times.

anybody know if this is a software issue or defect?
*
i hv encountered this a couple of times.

not sure the reason... but i suspect it is due to the timing of powering off of the tv with the others - avr, player box.

or the remote button contact is causing it.

it may also be due to some junk inside, android needs a restart.

just do a restart with settings-other-restart, see if it goes away.

Probably due to HDMI-CEC. Other items (AVR, Box, Disc Player) are allowed to "on" & "off" the tv). Happens on my Samsung tv from time to time.

thanks for the feedback. I only use the normal remote (for the back, up, down, left, right and select buttons) and a wireless mouse and keyboard.

Should i turn the HDMI-CEC on or off? the TV also came wif another media remote, bluetooth connection. should I disconnect that?

If it works well, then should leave it on otherwise just disable the power-on/off part.
I don't have this tv so I will guide you based on my experience with my Samsung tv but the menu should be more or less similar.
Go into the System settings and look for HDMI CEC / Anynet+ or something similar (Panasonic call it viera link & Sony call it bravia sync). Look for allow power-on/off and disable it (off). You should also do the same on the Android TV settings - look for the same HDMI CEC). The do the same in your player settings.

If you kept HDMI-CEC on but disable power on/off. You will be able to control volume etc but it will not prompt other devices to on or off. This should solve your issue.
If you feel adventurous and want to explore, try different settings and find out what is causing your tv to restart. You can also remove the hdmi cable of different players that you have (one at a time) to see what difference it makes. Basically you are trying to remove HDMI-CEC conflicts within your devices because there is probably 1 device which is switching on your tv because that device is still active.

In my HT setup, when I switch on the power socket, the Nvidia Shield boots up then switches on the TV and AVR. When I switch off my Nvidia Shield, it switches off my TV and AVR. And the remote/controller can control the volume of the AVR which controls all volume. When it works well, HDMI-CEC is great. But when it doesn't then it gets messy.

Haha, I noticed the Sharp TV remote with the touch pad and microphone quite fast drowning battery, within just 3 month.

Same case here.
I just use the normal remote most of the time.
If I want to play around with KODI, I'll use the Logitech wireless kb

I don't think its about the battery.. I think the remote itself seems like switch ON for 24hrs.. The other Sharp remote, keyboard and mouse dont have battery drain issue..

Yeah... Figured that part out as others confirmed it. If indeed the remote keeps drawing power nonstop, then it's a massive flaw. Since it has a mic, I'm assuming that voice commands are possible. Maybe it's listening and waiting for voice commands.

Ue630x users... if u r into 4k hdr10 videos.

When i first played such a video, they come out too dark, no good.

Then, i read it has to do with the bluray discs or file makers.
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/4k-vs-201604104279.htm

I think they have come around.

The latest 2160p hdr10 bdmv videos come out great on the ue630x.

Pretty stunning actually... clarity, colors, depth...

And i mean 60-90 gb files. With a good player, of course.

My settings for such videos.

.. dynamic mode
.. opc off
.. Backlight 16
.. Contrast 30
.. sharpness 2
.. the rest.. 0

Newer model ua6800x probably does a better job with hdr videos, but ue630x can deliever good too! smile.gif

After few months of research and viewing I've narrowed down my search for a minimum 65in tv :-

1) Philips 65in 5409 1080p with 600hz motion - rm4.4k
The good - good black levels and contrast, non reflective screen
The bad - limited features, basic TV, no 3d, no 4k

2) Philips 65in 6909  1080p, 800hz with 3d and backlight illumination - rm5.7k
The good - 800hz motion, good black levels and contrast, non reflective screen, active 3d
The bad - dated smart features, no 4k

3) Sony 65in W850C 1080p, 3d - rm5.8k
The good - good black levels, contrast, active 3d, Android tv
The bad - no 4k, reflective screen

4) Toshiba 65in L9450 4k - RM6.6k
The good - Good black levels and contrast, Android TV, 4k
The bad - no 3d

5) Sharp 70in 950x 1080p RM7.5k
The good - 4 colour screen, big screen for the money, 3d
The bad - No 4k, dated smart features

Which one would you choose given the budget of +/- RM7k?

I'm sorry to spoil the mood here. But, seriously you need to allocate that much of a budget for TV?? RM7k though! shocking.gif

I you see my post that's in 2015. Costs a lot lot cheaper for 65" now.

However budget and priorities change depends on individual. Now I spend 0 because have 2 babies to take care, no time to watch TV anymore lol
