Honda Malaysia recalls 2014 City and 2015 Jazz over CVT control software issue – 12,329 units affected

Honda Malaysia has announced a recall for 12,232 units of its fourth-generation City (2014 model year) and 97 units of its third-generation Jazz (2015 model year) over an issue with improper hydraulic pressure control software involving the vehicles’ continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The company says that in a situation where there is a quick stepping on and releasing of the accelerator pedal at high speed, high hydraulic pressure will cause high stress to be generated to the drive pulley shaft and may cause the shaft to be broken, resulting in the vehicle experiencing a loss of power during driving.
The exercise seeks to rectify the powertrain control module (PCM) in affected cars through a CVT software update, which contains a stress reduction software. As of today, there have been no crashes or injuries related to this issue reported in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia says it is taking this preemptive measure to ensure customer safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The company adds that aside from the specified total of vehicles, other fourth-gen City and third-generation Jazz are not affected, and neither are other current selling models
All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update. Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorised Honda dealer for inspection. Any charges related to the product update will be borne by Honda Malaysia.

Back in October, Honda Malaysia announced that it would be increasing the pricing of its products by 2% to 3% starting from January 2016, the hike attributed to the ringgit’s slump this year. The company said then that it would be monitoring the exchange rate closely and decide on the price in December.
With 2016 a few days away, the first of the increases has come about – pricing for the Honda City model range has been revised, as revealed by a new price list for the car sent in by reader Mohd Faiz. The increase, which comes into effect on January 1, covers all four variants in the lineup, and are as follows:
Honda City Grade S – RM76,100 (post-GST, RM74,008) Honda City Grade S+ – RM79,300 (post-GST, RM77,124) Honda City Grade E – RM84,600 (post-GST, RM82,270) Honda City Grade V – RM92,000 (post-GST, RM89,468)
In more direct fashion, this works out to an increase of RM2,092 for the Grade S, RM2,176 for the Grade S+, RM2,330 for the Grade E and RM2,532 for the Grade V.
The fifth-gen City was introduced in Malaysia in March 2014, and all four current model grades were available at point of launch. All variants are powered by a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine offering 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, and the mill is paired with a CVT gearbox.

The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) today released the latest round of test results at the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards in Kuching, Sarawak – four models make up the set for Q3 2014 testing, which is part of the agency’s move towards a more frequent “test-and-publish” programme following the conclusion of its three-phase pilot project.
The four vehicles that underwent the latest round of crash test evaluation are the 2014 Honda City and 2014 Honda Jazz, the Tata Vista and the upcoming Perodua Axia. The result summary for the vehicles in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) is as follows:
Perodua Axia 1000-E built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 4 stars, Child: 4 stars Honda City SV built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Honda Jazz SV, built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Tata Vista GZX 1.4L built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 3 stars, Child: 3 stars The Tata Vista, which scored 9.24 points out of a possible 16 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), is produced in India and is only available in Indonesia and Myanmar. The agency says that this is the first time a car of Indian manufacturing origin has undergone ASEAN NCAP assessment.
Both Honda City and Jazz models that were tested were Thai-built models for the Thailand market, with the six airbags variant scoring five stars, and the two airbag version obtaining four stars. In the AOP rating, the Honda City broke the record score in ASEAN NCAP testing by managing 15.80 points, surpassing the previous high of 15.73 points obtained by the Ford Fiesta. The Jazz scored 15.58 points.
The Perodua Axia, meanwhile, has the honour of being the first vehicle in the evaluation programme to be launched into the market with ASEAN NCAP results, and is set to be the most affordable 4-star car (in both AOP and COP) in the ASEAN region, according to the agency. It managed an AOP score of 12.91.

Step 4: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > More Step 4a: Select Application Launch > Choose Honda Launcher
Step 5: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Application Launched Step 5a: At Launch Launcher > Choose App Radio

With these steps, your HU screen home button will work and whenever you connect the Digital AV cable in your car to your phone, it will auto open AppRadio where you can jump to other AppRadio approved applications.
When you press home on your HU, it will auto launch Honda Launcher app and it will redirect to AppRadio automatically.

First thing, buy a plug and play illuminated side step. Which I get from Sato auto acc m sdn bhd on Mudah
RM160 + RM20 postage to my place.
The side steps comes with the complete wiring and socket for our ride. Which means you no need to cut any wire. No warranty issue on this DIY. Just plug and play.
On the wiring of the side step, I tap on 2 extra bulb for the foot light (red/black wire). See the photo below.
Bought the T5 socket for the foot light bulb on eBay. Which cost me around RM5 for each of it. Then buy a wire holder from electric shop. Tied the bulb on it and put 3M double side tape behind. And ready to put below the dashboard. Oh ya, the T5 blue LED from eBay as well.
After the wiring work is done. Its time to open interior cover part by part to route the wire. Those steps I follow some tutorial on youtube. Important reminder. Be extremely careful to the handling of the retaining tabs and clips particularly.
Very simple right? hope you guys can DIY yourself a set like mine.

Tap water is full of calcium, magnesium and other deposits which will form scaling (like in a boiler) and reduce the heat reduction efficiency of the radiator, clogging it with deposits.
Always use Honda Coolant Type 2 which is premixed and ready to pour into your radiator... Get a bottle from Hingan for rm20+... SC won't top up with the coolant but with tap water... Your City came out from factory with this Type 2 coolant inside...

All new Honda cars are filled with a special type of engine oil from the factory. Its different from those sold in the market or SC. This type of oil are meant for new engines that requires breaking in thus the composition of chemicals, addictives etc are different.

Original VLT before tinting: Original front windscreen VLT is 88%, side windows VLT is 94% while the rear windows is 94% VLT.
To tint make sure:- For the side windows tint, can tinted with max 53% VLT while the back of the car tinted with max VLT allowed is 32%. Lastly, the front windscreen can be tinted in a maximum of 79% VLT before able to passed the inspection.

D mode = All ratios is being used for maximum efficiency (For AT, which means all 5 gears can be engaged, and CVT can vary into all the given ratio)
S mode = O/D Off, for Honda 5AT you are left with 1,2,3 only since 4 and 5 are OD gear. The same goes to CVT (which means the ratio range is now reduced to 3.5 to 1.0) hence dubbed as sport mode since with shorter ratio your rpm stays higher, and shorter ratio (lower gear) means more responsive throttle, and also better traction. It is like how you would go to lower gear on slope/going down hill/taking a corner.
L mode = Only the initial ratio (means only first gear for AT, first ratio range for CVT) used only for heavy towing or you are really going down a super slope

I dunno what car you drive before but to sum it up.
D mode = D mode just like any car
S mode = O/D off in most general automatic car, or some car marked as D3 (As I have seen in Kelisa), cause their D is D4.
L mode = Same like normal L mode
Maintaining CVT and its performance, install a CVTF cooler (normally referred as ATF cooler, but since this is not an AT, I call it CVTF cooler), it works the same just to cool down your transmission fluid.
And for Honda, use the premium CVTF from Japan instead of normal grade CVTF from Singapore. The premium is called HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid) that comes in 4 litre can and cost 2x of normal CVTF. Many claims they are the same, but I tell you no, it is far different. I have used the HMMF for the my home old City, the ATF-DW1 Ultra for my sister's City, and also the MTF-3 Ultra for my bro's FD2R. All Japan version have superior response, especially in the CVT and AT, since for MT the gear change smoothness depends on your clutch control.
Note: The new City CVT is paired with Torque Converter, therefore I am not sure whether HMMF or the HCF-2 should be used as I do not own the new City. Kindly refer to your manual book.

Oh? For other specs that area button is to Enable/Disable mirror autofold (when locking/unlocking car). Pre-FL used to have anti-theft ultrasonic sensor there. Does hybrid have another button for this function?

My Honda city hybrid has one "Tak" sound when engine change from electric-> petrol -> electric ... anyone has this issues?
Try put your phone near the tak sound and record it. Mic facing the Tak sound, not camera facing Tak sound. Use video record because microphone app will filter the sound and rubbish quality. It may be normal gearshift or engine start/stop vibrate or something else entirely. Is it louder than fan speed 2 aircond ? Roughly what fan speed loudness the short "Tak"? Is it louder than Left/Right Signal indicator Tik Tik Tik Tik Tik ? Is it always got sound when EV>Pet>EV ? Does your car slow down abit when got the sound ?
You should only hear *electric whiny noise* WRRRRRRHHH -> *engine noise*PRRRRRTTTT, when EV>Pet under moderate accel. Signal indicators are about the same or slightly louder than these two sounds.

Volume knob (woops. button, misread ignore this paragraph) is to adjust the headlight Low Beam DOWNWARDS. 0-Highest Aim, 1-Aim lower, 2-lower, 3-lowest. Manual says it's to be used when you have heavy load at the back, which will angle the Front of the car upwards. (Back heavy, front aim up -> blind people) I think they mentioned 150kg behind put to '1' or something like that. But ehhh malaysia..., just F it. One scenario is if got 3 cars in a line, [Petrol] [ EV ] [Petrol], blind people (and also people glued to smartphone) won't be able to hear the EV cause no sound and other 2 car engine sound overpower EV sound. So... regulations says need make noise to alert pedestrian.
From interior can't hear difference. No need touch this button at all really.
I generally turn it off , to be honest. It makes no difference on/off as well. even while reversing it does not make any noise. Which kinda sucks

1k service just inspection only, nothing to be change, inspection job take not much time (perhaps around 10mins job) but need to q & wait. Heard nowadays Honda service center can't cope with the after sales due to too huge of customer volume (Honda sales well for recent 1-2 years), averagely appointment for service or even new car problem complaints, all need to wait 1 month. Really crazy...

Sound good, i bought from this usj branch so i plan to stick this branch for after sales. Been there for 1k service, both the sales person & service supervisor advice better to make appointment 1 month in advance for subsequent service. So far the impression of usj branch is good, quite a big service section, always full with many service/repair car.

It is time for them to open new centres. There are a few empty warehouse around that can be easily converted into ready service centres. Less empty warehouse and more employment opportunities.

1k service just inspection only, nothing to be change, inspection job take not much time (perhaps around 10mins job) but need to q & wait. Heard nowadays Honda service center can't cope with the after sales due to too huge of customer volume (Honda sales well for recent 1-2 years), averagely appointment for service or even new car problem complaints, all need to wait 1 month. Really crazy...
if really can't make appointment , u can consider to come down shah alam or Setia Alam sc ... normally I walk in and get entertain within 10mins . job done in 2hours max ....sometime 1.5hour ...

Go hardware store and look for leg covers, black round shape. But only good stores will have it (have range of drill to paint to multimeters sold), MR DIY dont have.
Those cover sold for less than RM2 or so, can buy lots and never worry about people stealing. I shoulda brought more since I see some my frens city lost the cover.

I went to Honda Setia Alam for 50,000km servicing recently. I opt out the cabin filter (aka pollen dust filter) coz i was using the bosch cabin filter. It will not affect the warranty as i have double confirm with the SC staff. I told them my kids are allergic to dust/haze. Honda stock cabin filter cant solve this issue, lol.. In the end the servicing was cheaper. Just make sure u check that they didnt accidently swap out your cabin filter coz sometimes the technician assume is a normal servicing. That day i was monitoring the technician handling my car. I saw the technician went to my car glovebox and wanted to change the cabin filter. Luckily my SC staff inform the technician not to change my filter.

Actually cabin filter is just for air ventilation and is considered wear and tear item so it shouldn't void your warranty. I doubt they will void our air con warranty because just becoz we didnt used Honda's cabin filter.

the tint worker done a very bad work...probably too much water went into your door sensor or whatever sensor .

I too just had bad experience with the Melaka branch, they scratched my cluster meter plastic while cleaning up but it was on my other car not the City.
My City did tinting back in 2014, Raytech RX4 package. Also had some hiccups, the tint did not stick well at the non stick zone behind the rear mirror, replaced it once. Then rear window they go and cut one hole while i requested not to, also replace... fast foward 2 years, the windscreen dis colorized had to change again. But putting all this aside, the tint works well!
My SA did warn me that tinting might damage the electronics such as the meter cluster, radio, power window, etc due to the liquid used.
Say like the official honda tinting doesn't use any liquid during the process, as long as your tint expert handle your car with extra care, anytime also can be way better than official honda tint's expert. It's all about the attitude from the tint people who handle your car.
Unless your SA also means that honda might also damage your electronics even if you opt for the tint package, then nothing to say hahaha. He just being neutral.

Better dun go genting if you suspect ur car got problem. Later breakdown there, will be big problem. I think ur tint guy lousy workmanship; spray water too much and caused short circuit. If go back to SC now, sure kena tell off by them.

Sorry for mentioning other brand here.
For Toyota, Perodua as far as I know, yes the tinting being done when the car still in factory. (But who knows if the tint being applied after all panels, electronics installed or prior to that )
For Honda, at least for Penang, I do know that the 3M tint film came from one of the 3M authorized tint shop. So when customer opt for the tint package, the workers from the tint shop will cut and bring the 3M film to Honda SC and do the tint inside there.
So, basically no different in process except that for this case, Honda acknowledge that tint warranty + car warranty if got any issue.

Most car makers/assemblers do their OEM tinting after car is finished, usually same place where they install extra components (bodykit, cameras, upgraded HU, etc) but within the same factory area. No diff than outside do, except if OEM tint spoils anything, replacement will easily be done and warranty will be intact.

Bad workmanship, heard some horror experience on tinting water damage void warranty on the damaged part.

Yeah... and it wasn't their low end tint, it was the 95% windscreen tint that time... now their best is the ultra 70 97% IRR one.
Adding both side using some kind of airtight tape. It may not be perfect & look ugly but it reduce the rattling sound. Already test drive on highway, city and uneven or rough road. Ok to me.
Do you guys hear a weird soft sound when the car crusing at 50km/h or above, the sound came out when u release the throttle pedal. It sound like something lossen from the engine bay or tyre side. It does not came out always, and the sound is too soft to record, so it will be hard to report to SC.

If urs is FL, then no BLUE LED. They cut that out when transition from Pre-FL. Cost cutting. Just make sure the RED LED dont constant light up then its fine.

Ops, seen like Honda is cost down it. Normally i need wait around 30sec~1min till car is heatup, else another guide line is wait till rpm reach around 1k~

Contacted SC that i wanna service my AC and vehicle, they informed me that HM doesnt require AC service anymore.
I just called customer service and they confirmed the same thing.

The CS personnel mention if still under 5 years then can replace lor.

Other than 1st pic, then rest is outer surface scratch. You can choose to wait (and accumulate more) then paint one shot. The 1st pic can use paint touchup to cover the rust spot. If insist to paint for these kinda scratches, no need get slaughter by Honda. Just go to outside painter, preferably got paint booth.

My touch up skills are pretty shit but it gets job done and no longer bothers me. Find the code for your car colour and order the complete set. Test on other surface, then patiently do the steps on actual damage.
Ops, seen like Honda is cost down it. Normally i need wait around 30sec~1min till car is heatup, else another guide line is wait till rpm reach around 1k~
Just continue to drive - do not need to wait to warm up
when you are driving , drive slowly about 20-30km/h , about 30 seconds. the engine will heat faster when you are driving , after that you can floor or drive normally

Guys, noob questions: I realize my water coolant drop to half in between min & max line. I only run 5000+Km. Izit normal? It seems my other car dont hv this issue.
Finally collected my E spec today after almost one month of waiting. Went straight to install Modulo bodykit, foot light, side step, Mugen sun visor and OBD speed lock.
Weird thing about this OBD speed lock is the hazard lights will be on about 30 seconds if the doors are open.

Anybody got a problem with parking/reverse sensor? this Friday plan to send in for inspection. My sensor keeps beeping when in reverse mode.
I noticed that when reverse until beeping very fast, then straightening my car and reverse again the rapid beeping stays for few seconds but becomes normal beeping again. i think thats normal kua.

Reason they give u HRV, is to slowly poison you to upgrade. Cuz when people sit in the back, they all will ask you why the car hook is HRV and when you gonna upgrade to HRV. Slowly later you will pressure to upgrade to HRV lar!
I think its becoz the camera is not backlit so it depends on the reverse lights which is not much. Good aftermarket rear cameras usually have backlighting. Or maybe its due to crappy FL HU crappy screen with crappy small resolution.

That harness is for camera input. TVbypass is not connected there, it will go to center bottom socket. I cant rcall what the top left socket is for, but I remember the previous tered got some documentation on this Mitsubishi HU (Mitsubishi XR-241XH).

i know the harness is for camera input, but i check many from china the harness not so many wires as this 1...and this harness with male and female which means the original harness will be connected to this harness after the camera installed...
Its the F-CAN communication cables and also the Reverse signal. Thats why when you use original harness, you do not need to connect reverse wire anymore.

If you feel like being coy, ask the SA which warranty? Suspension? Engine? Radio? Tyres? Bodykit doesnt touch any of these things. That SA being very dishonest, sucks you get that kind. I installed kit outside and made warranty claim to suspensions. SC only asked if I mod my rims to sport rim. Ditch that SA asap.

Mine's the same. You see towards the top edge? Thru the gap, you can just about see the bumper clip. Im thinking to ask SC get it fixed but worry they will scratch/damage the bumper and make it worse. But probably they will just say "mou pin"

I went to new Honda SC in Miri, Swak for 34k KM service..they accepted it though it is more than 1000KM and two months more than intended service schedule..i just knew that engine oil from drum(RM125++) is cheaper than the bottle(RM145++) and add my coolant(RM30)..they also told me that it is ok to change rim to aftermarket sport rim and installed aftermarket foglight as long as didnt touch the engine(wiring etc..)..i forget to ask if change air filter to washable one and grounding cable will void the warranty...overall the best SC experience compare to Krokop SC..

Hmm... AFAIK no product can safely repair sidewall damage (if at the wording side). Becoz sidewall is where tyre bulges, so the patch need to be expandable but when the glue dries it will be harden so the bonding will break. I think, the tyre is not safe to be driven at all and needs to be replaced lor.

Definitely with more choices, then the SCs cannot hold their customers for ransom (like the scenario i gave). But some places, like in East Malaysia, there's very little options. But yeah, there's always channels to complain if this happens.

Same here, suffering from astigmatism. At night, I won't be able see an oncoming motorbike in a 2 lane traffic jam if they cut through middle lane. All the oncoming cars are like photoshop lens flare x20. I avoid driving at night when possible as a result...

never on my fog lamps even i'm a v spec owner...head lights brightness ald bright enough on certain road...
default e spec comes with the bluetooth white wire at the socket below clockspring, located at left 3. this wire suppose connect to pin 12 of canbus socket, but since e spec dont have canbus on head unit, honda connect this wire to pin 23 on power socket of head unit. thus, the e spec bluetooth HFT button has the same function as the additional 2 button on v spec steering.
for those who want to modify to full v spec steering control switch included voice function (except cruise control), you need to move the bluetooth white wire from left 3 to left 4, then add one additional wire on left 3 location, connect it to pin 12 of canbus socket.

But once my phone connected to head unit bluetooth, my whatsapp voice message all will be muted. I need to turn off bluetooth while waiting traffic light or what, it's so troublesome.

Like tachlio mention, if you enable media audio, HU will reroute all sounds to HU speakers. Problem is, if your audio is not changed to bluetooth channel on HU, it's all muted. Slow down with hardware upgrade man, always check settings first

having some issue with the arm/disarm mechanism or duno how should i call it normally when we lock our car with remote, it wun have any sounds but now when i press lock from remote, it will has sounds like got door that is not close properly but all doors are closed properly. then when press unlock with remote, there is not hazard light while normally should have the hazard light on

F-CAN is mostly for PCM, VSA, SRS, Engine control unit and Yaw Rate Acceleration Control.
Our meter got both F-CAN and B-CAN together to provide us the correct information, the V-spec HU is actually a very powerful unit which is laid to waste due to its limited software. If only we can flash it to a better version.

My E spec is quite cold. I only need 3-4 fan with 25C on a hot day. At night i'll set it to 26C.

Via phone, to access the setting screen, please refer http://any-cast.com/user-tips.html then go to Section "Tips#4 Connect to WiFi Router (for all devices)" then you will see the setting screen.

Go to your bluetooth setting, press setting icon on "HONDA HFT" Disable "Media Audio" ONLY!
Then all media will sound from Phone, include - wave or navi audio... - whatapp video/audio sound... - Spotify will sound from phone instead of phone (you wont see "Bluetooth" sellecction" from Vspec HU"
You phone normal calling will still through HU. (Phone Audio must be check)

Like tachlio mention, if you enable media audio, HU will reroute all sounds to HU speakers. Problem is, if your audio is not changed to bluetooth channel on HU, it's all muted. Slow down with hardware upgrade man, always check settings first

Actually, you dont need go your HU setting. Go to your phone's bluetooth setting. its much more easier...

Otherwise if you change in your city HU, every phone cannot play audio through your HU. Someday perhaps a friend wanna plan music through your car sound system, and she wont be able to.
Sometimes I on enable my media audio, open youtube video on my phone while long distant driving. So the sound of the video comes from the car sound system instead of the phone.

Any hybrid owner? Mind to share your km/l? I Try to reach the rumour say 25km/l But I only manage to reach 19.6km/l I not sure whether it is Normal or not.i see rarely use hybrid or ev mode. Usually use engine power
Go press the right side info panel until see Avg Speed and Time, let us know. kthx. Make sure press the Odo to change it so that it's not KM A or KM B. Or choose the KM A/B which you use the longest ya. Dude right above me got ~27km/l, from one full tank (not trip A <> trip B) just last week. So, 25km/l can be done.

Probably ur aircon compressor kicks in and out frequently due to temp settings and outside temp. Do you find that ur side blowers are more stronger than center blowers?

Most likely rk is counterfeit product. Mine was actually rk anycast *masyallah*
And til now i still can't figure out the way to get into the settings menu for the resolution thing.
What are the major differences (perfomance, capability etc.) of am & rk ? Sorry for asking such question.
i have no idea either regarding performance, i just ask the china importer, he told me got 2 version, Rk (high d-high speed processor) and AM (low d, lower speed processor).
im think of getting it as i saw many variant in shopee, rm3x type could be AM version, and rm5x type could be Rk version.
but first, need to find out which version works with our HU, i think most likey AM version works as it has lower resolution setting

my city driving (KL-jam-average speed 1x-20km/h) only 16-17 km/l, 19/20 not possible. maybe im heavy footed, or maybe bhp fuel deplete much faster

Below is base on my anycast setup, hope it help.
Step 1: Plug the anyCast into the HDMI port of your TV and switch to the right input source. Step 2: Plug USB cable into an external USB power adapter. Step 3: You should see the anycast page, check &make sure in iOS/iPhone/iPad AirPlay Mirroring mode not miracast mode Step 4: Look for anycast SSID & password which show on top of anycast page Step 5: Turn on your handphone wifi, select anycast SSID & enter the password, now your handphone should connected to anycast wifi (anycast page upper corner will indicate 1 connection) Step 6: Look for anycast IP address which show on anycast page, it should be 192.168.203.1 Step 7: Open your handphone browser, enter the IP address 192.168.203.1, now airsetup or setup screen appear on you handphone Step 8: Change Resolution setting to the lowest setting, upon click 720x480_60P & ok anycast restart by itself Step 9: After step 8 wait shortwhile till anycast wifi auto reconnect your hanphone, go to step 7 to confirm resolution remain 720x480_60P. Now can try on HU, anycast page should be displayed and ready for airplay (iphone)/miracst (android), make sure to select correct mode.
So means not plug and play, huh? Need some wire cutting. Ur installer in Klang Valley?
If plug and play then will diy add 2 rear tweeter, else too much work. I remember when test drive V spec audio sound so much better because of additional 2 rear tweeter.

U at least know who bang u and he paid for the damage. I parked properly, my front kena bang. The guy ran away. Fixed my front bumper and spray paint. One month later, kena bang from behind even though i parked properly. Fixed and spray paint again. 5 months later, motorbike fall on my side doors even though i parked properly as usual. There was some dents and paint peel off. But this time, the guy offer to spray my door. All happen within 1 year, zzz...

And yes, not recommended to park your car in open space/unshaded if you want hybrid battery longevity. I just measured yesterday using a tablet as thermometer by stuffing it in contact with hybrid battery, it peaked at 42.2°C at 3.42PM. I parked half shaded and with cheapo 3M horizon+ RM1,700 shit.
To clarify, I'm reading °C of the Tablet's battery which is in contact with the hybrid battery. Basically, ambient boot temperature was 42.2°C on a hot-ish day.
Oh, that lasted for about 1h30 minutes then back down to ~38°C average afternoon<>evening sun.

Nowadays i already immune to dents and scratches. As long the minor accidents doesnt involve breaking the headlamps, windows and exposing the metal base material, i will not go repair it or spray paint (just close one eye).

Honda SC is best lar or ur own trusted workshop. Never go to their workshop cuz they may pakat with pomen to do cheap lousy job. Its ur right, but usually if use SC will means need to report to police, so be aware of 24hr rule.

How is your rear dashcam setting (positioning) til driver behind can see/notice your rear dashcam easily & clearly?
I placed my Viofo A119 dashcam on top of my rear windscreen then it is covered by the Amerguard sunshade. It is quite obvious tats why i bought a car decal and planning to stick it on my rear windscreen. Hopefully it wont be too obvious, lol..

Yes, i bought the Ezypaint from Aeon when i got my first small scratch. Before i wanted to polish it, i got a small dent on the side door. I believe is caused by those idiots who open their car door like hulj in Tesco. Then more and more dents and scratches appeared. usually i also touchup but eventually i become lazy and Imavest Sg Long got provide free touch up so everytime i go service i tell the SA to touchup
Apparently City's original front windscreen comes with high Infrared Rejection (IRR). I installed a tint with 95% IRR and smart tag didn't work. Went back to the tint shop and they did a cutout at the rearview mirror area.
Now the place with the dotted lines are not tinted with the 95% IRR tint, just the sun visor tint.

I plan to get the hybrid City but really wanted the 8 speakers setup of City V. Is it possible to upgrade from 4 to either 6 or 8 speakers without voiding warranty? I am thinking to send in to Hoda service center and swap out the 4 speakers to 8? Possible?

Btw, I did upgraded the firmware via Setup screen, after upgrade firmware there is something call EZAir mode that have selection of 1) Mirror only for ios 9 & 10 2) Mirror+Streaming for ios 11 Did not test this function becos phone is ios 10 only. I prefer & decide to use android+phonelink (can use touch screen control from hu )

I placed my Viofo A119 dashcam on top of my rear windscreen then it is covered by the Amerguard sunshade. It is quite obvious tats why i bought a car decal and planning to stick it on my rear windscreen. Hopefully it wont be too obvious, lol.. Yes, i bought the Ezypaint from Aeon when i got my first small scratch. Before i wanted to polish it, i got a small dent on the side door. I believe is caused by those idiots who open their car door like hulj in Tesco. Then more and more dents and scratches appeared. These dents are quite hard to fix cause is quite small and the depth is around 1mm. Before i could think of a solution, bam.. My front bumper kena hit and run. Rear bumper also kena hit and run.
Now my Ezypaint still haven't opened yet, lol..
I just feel that city very bad luck.. My car also kena knock here n there.. Hit n run.... I own the car 1 year 11 month send to service center many times.. to replace steering rack... Radio antenna... Push start button... And the map lights in the middle..
Now leh shock absorber got sound when go on some roads... And my aircon suddenly i drive then can smell outside...

I am using 3m 97% smart tag still works without cutting but need to go very slow.. So i just open window n put smart tag out.. Cant wait for the RFID Tag next year

Hi guys, Saw a lot of comments on wireless casting to FL HU and would like to share my experience.
I did some research and all these devices are based on Google's Chromecast. There are 2 Tier 1 copies of it, Ezycast & Anycast M2 Plus. From their documentation and user reviews, apparently the ori ones are AM version. The RK version may be knock offs of these 2 (which is a knock off of CC ).
What I gather is these RKs (Tier 2 brands or "Anycast fakes") are not supported by the Tier 1 brands, basically no firmware updates. I could be wrong, please correct me if I am.
I have tried M2 Plus (AM ver) and did not succeed to cast to FL HU. What I suspect is the resolution was not supported by HU. The lowest I can go is 720p, while HU screen is 480. Ori M2 Plus only goes down to 720, AFAIK.
So I did more search and found another Tier 1 device called Mirascreen.
Its not as popular with those 2 above, but user reviews & sales photos showed it can cast down to 480p resolutions. This is also an AM version device.
So here's how I use it to cast my ancient S3 to FL HU (I hidden it for those who prefer to skip my wall of pictures ). Only pics, cuz im not a video kinda guy

I had problems casting my S3 until I set Default Mode to Miracast (Standard). Apparently, Compatible Mode was not compatible. Lolz!

1) Works just like more expensive CC device that prasys is using, but this only cost me Rm40 from Lazada. Lazada has an easy return policy, so if its fake/not working, just return it and get ur full refund.
2) Anycast, Ezycast & Mirascreen is all based on AM chipset but it really depends on the brand firmware options to get it work on FL HU crappy small screen resolution. Ori Mirascreen is proven to work.
3) The included Wifi cable is needed. The Wifi chip (Realtek RTL8188ETV) is inside it so you cant replace this cable with a short one.
4) Took me a few tries to get this cable arranged neatly, and I used a HDMI angled connector to move the device sideways, so its not blocking the screen.
5) Need to turn OFF power save mode on phone, so casting sucks battery like a camel. Even with 2.1A charger, the battery still drains but at slower pace. The phone screen also needs to stay ON to work.
6) Phone control on HU should work via Phonelink app. Havent tried it yet thou...
Seems like after my comments, @Assclown posted that there is a new Ori Anycast that do uses RK (Rockchip) chipset, M3plus. What I tested back then was M2plus.

Yah handphone battery drain even more fast if casting + bluetooth (use phonelink) + waze
Finally completed diy install bypass cable & tested working with old phone samsung grand prime.
So, I've been trying to see if I can record the juddering/jerking issue for the hybrid when engine is forced on to charge the hybrid batteries. I tried using dashcam first but nope, it's untraceable. I was expecting it to pivot it's nose downward abit due to the power loss/judder, but nope, car looks rock solid.
After finally spending on a OBDII BT adaptor, below is what I found. (Skip to Spoiler)
Data is captured with Torque. Dataset captured is: Hybrid Battery charge (%), Engine rpm, Speed(km/h). Hybrid battery charge is captured to keep track of the 'when battery is 25%, turn engine on' condition. Engine rpm, to align when it turns on and causes the judder/jerk/power loss. Speed (km/h), to check deceleration during judder/jerk/power loss.
OBDII PID scan rate is at ~20/sec. Torque's "Faster communication" is NOT used for fear of messing with internal the CAN. The error I know of that is present in the data is that km/h is derived from the GPS (it drifts +/- 6 meters) but the judder exists and seems consistent.

Deceleration can cut up to 25% of current speed when it judders at low speed. Imagine randomly stomping the brakes while driving at low speed.
I'll capture more dataset with actual speed information based on the car's reported speed on the OBD next time. Stay tuned next week or so.
CONCLUSION, i-DCD IS TIHS. (at low speeds, when outta batteries)

Here's the video. Neat feature, u cant drive the car without the fob cuz you need to press ur push start once again to activate 'driving' mode for your speedometer. It can also set time for the engine start, so if exceed your set time engine will auto shutdown if we never unlock the car.

recently found 1 strange event, going thru bump on up hill slope with very low speed thru break some time loss power from both battery n engine, feel like the car stall for 2 sec before you start to hit peddle.

Bump + uphill = press pedal harder => car will engage engine+hybrid assist if it was on EV mode (low speed brake, so probably in EV mode) Dual clutch engaging gear during pedal harder moment => power loss/no forward movement while engaging gear. That 2 seconds feels forever but it's actually shorter because user says forward, car does not move, fight or flight triggered due wrong expectation, time dilation happens (everything feels longer) ( ) j/k

No wait, it's not typical, it's only on honda's i-DCD due to their 7spd being 4gear electric : 3gear engine. 1,3,5,7 electric, 2,4,6 engine. Low speed EV suddenly pedal harder = 2km/h-> engage Gear 2 transmission = no powahhhh or... at least I think that's what's happening... it's delayed response + gear 2 powaaa

Hi guys, I'm currently purchasing the hybrid version, I am aware of the RM 4000 rebate on going now for a city. Actually how does the rebate works? OTR with insurance is RM 92000 so should it be RM88000 when puchasing then?
