I got sms to say installation date is tomorrow but until now, no one from TM has called me to set the time.
When I called TM, they are also not sure cos most of the time, the upgrade just needs to restart router.
Anyone here got sms for installation date can clarify

no one at home?

if they send sms to say they will come, better be at home!

becos they will change router; no one at home, they can't do for u, fix another day.

if u have own router that is good enough, get set up for both, keep one for standby.

For me, the contractor called the morning of the installation day then came later in the afternoon. In my case, 50-RYE100, they had to come to change the BTU and also gave me a new router.

Would like to check with season Unifi Fixed IP users here. I noticed nowdays especially the Unifi 30 package with fixed IP address, that when the PPPoE is dialed it will get 172.xx.xx.xx IP. Additional step is required by adding Fixed IP address into the 'static ip column instead'.

Previously Unifi package Fixed IP Address, we used to have a TM router configured as 175.xx.xx.01 and our public fixed IP is 175.xx.xx.02 (what I need to configured on my laptop).

Anyone noticed this?

You shouldn't be getting 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x. Those are assigned if your credentials are wrong or the account has been suspended.

That's the router that TM gave me for for 50-100 upgrade. So I guess no need to change for you. Though TM may just change change another C1200 for your C1200.

its demand and supply, hence there is no real protocol there to request for one, hence they will place you in the waiting list, and not sure how effective are those.

I would recommend that you get more interested parties from your taman and put in black and white that those who are interested in getting the unifi. I think that should help expediting the request and installation since the ROI is there for them.

Yes. It shows connected, and those are the IP range received (172.20.xx.xxx). It even shows Gateway (which are also in that range) & DNS obtained.
And it works only with the TM router where the field 'static IP' has to be manually entered. With this Internet works.

If this router is taken out, even with an equipment supporting vlan & pppoe, the same 172.20.xxx.xxx is obtained.

That’s weird, as bro soonwai has explained, you should not have get the address as 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x, are reserved private IP addresses. You sure about that? It should not have even work in the internet as IANA has reserved that IP addresses as private, unless TM upstream router is configured to allow that to happen.
