HI All,
TM Call me say my area got Unifi ask me fast fast upgrade since there is still port available.

This is what they offer me:
1) i choose the 30 M which is 147.34 after GST. With the internet TV thing.
2) I seldom use phone call at home but still remain my old num ~ 1 min 20 cent
3) Installation i think will choose , the one over ceiling ~
10 Meter RM 60, when more than 10 Meter Each 1 Meter they charge RM10.
4) The operator who call me ask me nego to get cheaper installation from contractor to save up some money o.0.
5) Anything i need to take note ??? ( I scared i over pay or miss out anything, i am not paying attention to previous post )  tongue.gif

Seems okay.. Yeah, negotiate directly with the contractor for lowest deal. You know your house and how best to route the cables. As for pricing for custom wiring, others can chip in.

OK. Thanks. Now just have to think of the wiring .
1) Becoz if i put my router at living room, i can use the smart TV box, then i have to purchase a wireless card for my desktop(In My room, Upstair).
Although the wiring come from ceiling i bet, it still need cover to conceal it.
2) if i put on my upstairs bed then can directly connect to my desktop. But it seems i wont be able to use the smart TV box.
(Not sure whether the smart TV box still can be use ,have wireless feature) Becoz my TV is in my living room only.

The really good media boxes do come with excellent wifi capabilities inbuilt. Question is, distance and interference may ruin your streaming experience.. I'm all for direct ethernet cabling especially for streaming. Sure you can outfit your pc with a better wireless card. IMO, better install router beside tv and use that money to run a cable to the PC too instead. Guaranteed full power.

Tried, waiting technician come and check.
Damn sien, ping is low, but speedtest showing 30M but loading speed is noticeably slow when browsing.
*
u mean it shud be 100mbps but speedtest shows 30 and actual is even slower when browsing?
if so, something seriously wrong.
common causes is your local infra nearby having problem.

talk to yr neighbors, see if they hv same problem.
dun be surprised some idiot contractor did something stupid at the junction box or yr dog bit something off!

let the unifi technicians come, check n explain.
if it's your own problem, u may get charged.

ask how yr neighbors do it.

some houses, the cable come from the house front to grdflr, some from the back to top flr.
that will determine how long the total cable run will be for where u want it to end with the BTU (modem) - the cost for u.

if your house is small, good chance wifi will cover nicely most places, incl yr pc upstairs.
but if it's large superlink 100x30ft... tough.

note the STB (unifitv box) will likely be in living room beside yr tv, will need ethernet connection; ethernet good for yr smart tv too.

if u place the router upstairs, u will then ask "how to do unifitv with wifi"

do not make the mistake of placing modem/router in a poor place only to struggle with bad wifi issues later.

Bro, IP blocks have nothing to do with it. There must be something wrong with that box.

TM don't care.. All waterfishes welcome. So sad, at least we here know and get decent pricing and package.. Hundreds of thousands who don't know and simply autopay each month.
If in KL, march straight to HQ and politely demand for it. Tell so many got d.. Threaten to terminate and they can sue or send all the red letters they like.. You won't pay. But that if they concede thus small request.. You'll not only pay every month but spread the word on social media that TM is bestest.. Sell it like you mean it. Trust me, the inside manager at the office will approve..  nod.gif
Sorry to bust your bubble.. But most lucky one is paying RM169/179 for 100Mbps.. Which is twice your current speed. Upload and download speeds.. Oh yeah, plus an extra Hypptv package like Ruby..  tongue.gif

Hello. Can I know how can I get that promo price for 100Mbps? That is so cheap and luckyyy.
Currently using Unifi 30Mbps plan @Rm179

After reading this forum, I called back TM and asked for 100mbps for RM189/month but the marketing staff refused, so I canceled my upgrade.. Am currently on 50mbps, Hopefully they will call me back again in the future to give me a better offer.. 😊

Scared what? Non-ionising radiation?

The blinking light will have more health effect on you than your wifi signal....

2. Got free call with the plan?
3. Give ruby unifi tv or even better if they give jumbo (got fox movie etc etc )

For ur end, identify where to locate the btu, router, stb and the fiber route to ur house

I bought this for backup.

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/tp-link-...Ab93tJ&search=1

(Above item should able to solve unifitv issues giving the circumstances router is not beside the TV)

but will ask the contractor how the wiring output will look like before decided.
