TM also called me that they will come and check my equipment for 50Mbps to 100Mbps. When request them when the technician can come, they said anytime. So booked this Saturday and they coming. Wow.

I asked what type of checking since Im using my own router Asus. They said need to check the setting in order to support 100Mbps. hmmm
*
Went home yesterday, tested, still no speed upgrade. Ayam sad. BTU need to reset by technician to enable 100Mbps?

Technician just came and upgraded. Took 15 minutes.

I think the result could be over 100mbps but the house wiring is CAT5 only so there's probably a few mbps left that couldn't be squeezed out but if there is any upgrade in the future I have to renovate xD

EDIT: Just found out. Before that I was paying RM229 for 50mbps. Now it's RM229 for 100mbps.

Yea. I had the old TL-WR1043ND (300 mbps).
I changed it from the original DLink they supplied a few years ago.

Today they came and replaced that with, what I believe is the new TP-Link TL-WR1043ND (450mbps)
It has like a huge TM sticker on top of the router.

Can't find a way to disable such behaviour. Any sifu can help?

Are you sure it's TL-WR1043ND and not Archer C1200 or C5v2? What colour are its antennas?

Are you on Wifi or LAN? If LAN, then confirm the router is faulty...

For a cheap 2.4ghz router you can get TPLink-WR1043ND (RM199)

For a cheap 5ghz router you can get TPLink C2 AC750 (RM299)

Both quite good also.

If you don't mind about warranty and want cheaper you can look for Xiaomi Router 3 with custom firmware (Padavan) which cost around RM100+
Better performance than both above. I'm actually selling mine https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4376044&hl=

Never seen a malfunctioning router cause lower speeds. Usually they just stop working. What router are you using now?

What's the ping from your PC to the router? Or ping from 1 PC to another PC. Please test on wired only which I think you've said you already are.
