TM just called me for the free upgrade 50 to 100mbps, but their technician can only come to my home early september. Wonder if TM auto upgrade to 100Mbps after they called, or still need to wait for technician to upgrade?
*
TM also called me that they will come and check my equipment for 50Mbps to 100Mbps. When request them when the technician can come, they said anytime. So booked this Saturday and they coming. Wow.

I asked what type of checking since Im using my own router Asus. They said need to check the setting in order to support 100Mbps. hmmm

Nope, I'm using FTTH. My modem was put at living room, the picture I shown is I'm using DELL Sonicwall Firewall TZ105 (http://www.sonicguard.com/TZ105.asp) as router, then use C5 as AP.

How to said weird?

My modem put at living room downstairs, the picture I shown is upstairs, working room, so from living room I pull 1 lan cable up till upstairs working room, den use Sonicwall firewall as router, den use C5 as wifi AP because Sonicwall don't have Wi-Fi.

Here my FTTH speedtest user posted image

Out of contract already. Replacement either pay TM or extend contract without payment.

I also receive call yesterday from UNIFI for a free upgrade from 50 to 100. Strange that they upgrade for free from 30 to 50 just last year.

They say they will send a technician today to 'install equipment'. I'm so happy. biggrin.gif

When I moved 5~6 years ago, I got the 10mbps unifi package. Then I upgraded to 20 (had to pay since I felt 10 wasn't fast enough) a year later.
Then got a free upgrade to 30 a year later. Then free upgrade again to 50 a few months ago. Finally received a call yesterday that I'm eligible for a free upgrade to 100.

I'm paying ~ low 2XX.00 a month still. Not sure of the exact amount since the internet bill is paid automatically monthly.

Boss if you think u are paying rm250ish... U most likely are a carrot that got chopped when the offered u free upgrade last year. Rm250 is 50mbps price Loh.

30mbps is rm179.

Yea but company pay.
So I don't really mind the price at that time.

After paying for the upgrade for the 20mbps 4 years ago,
I didn't really called Unifi if there's any new promotion after that as I was quite busy and didn't use my internet as much as I want to.
So when there was a call for a free upgrade like a year ago (and a month ago), I just said 'sure and thank you' and sure enough a few days later, my speed got upgraded.

Now that I'm staying at home more, I was delighted to hear that I got a 100mbps upgrade.

Instead of comparing the price yearly.
I compared the price from when I was paying ~2XX for 20mbps 4 years ago vs paying ~2XX for 100mbps.
It may not be the best bang for the buck, but if I don't have to pay extra for the upgrade, I'm satisfied.
