Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the unifi router and ethernet switch.

I am using unifi, DIR - 615 modem, it has 4 Lan ports, the last port is for unifi TV. The other 3 ports are all used. If I want to connect 1 of the 3 ports to a ethernet switch so that it can connect to more computers/laptops, is it doable?

Will there be any reduction in internet speed in that particular port?

Yes, just leave it switched on 24/7 unless you want to renew the IP. It's recommended to use anti surge socket for damage prevention

If you use switch then the speed will be maintained like the primary source

nope. All the bandwidth distributed are equal. The iptv port wont affect your speed - if you are using it to watch hypptv. the more pc/laptop connected through wired connection, then the bandwidth has to be shared equally among the device.

Hi Guys.

Just upgraded to UNIFI Lite yesterday from Streamyx 4Mbps

It hasn't been 24 hours yet but i already face no internet connection problem.

Currently liaising with TMConnect via twitter but the response is quite slow.

So I hope can find the solution here

Basically, there is no internet connection. On the standard TM modem, the 'Auth' and 'Link' light are the only ones that blinking

May I know what's the problem?

Update: TMConnects ask to restart as well as check the cable properly. Since it's a new and freshly install, I think the cable should not be the problem as we didn't touch anything since installation finished at 5 pm yesterday. It was working fine until this morning around 5 am

On topic : Using repeater hurts my speed so much. sad.gif The worst is my house is using 3 phase power. Unless there is a better solution. hmm.gif icon_question.gif
TV, BTU, router and TM STB is being used downstairs. I'm currently using other router as repeater and connect it to my desktop.

I had almost same problem as yours. Mine - both "Äuth" and "Link" are NOT blinking. I have the Unifi Lite installed early September 2017, works fine for 1 month and suddenly, had the same problem as yours. I have 3 reports on this matter. No connection. First two times, switch off modem, cannot connect back to Unifi Server and the third time today, the Unifi suddenly disconnects by itself and cannot connect back again.

Both TM technicians ( upon 2nd and 3rd report ) mentioned that the cable connection was roughly done.

I suggest you ask the technician/installer to come to your house and recheck the cable from the house ie modem straight to the white TM Box. We cant check because need that TM machine to do the testing or check the ports.

Because the installer did a lousy job.

same boat here on using repeater since my house is using 3-phase power, no matter how I relocate my powerline (AP) i couldn't get full speed and even worse than wifi speed...
so i had to use repeater on 2nd floor...no option

Use smart socket to on/off using wifi or timer.
Can look at smart home thread at home renovation & id section.
