I have fTPM enabled because I'm also using W11, no stutters here for me in any apps or games.

AGESA 1.2.0.7 is supposedly to be the last major "clean up" BIOS release. I'm willing to bet all my 10 BTC it won't be.  whistling.gif

I just wondering, since in order to use the latest Ryzen cpu, I need to update my bios for my asus b450 to the latest one. So if I update the bios does this mean that my current cpu is become unusable?

I think your Strix B450F will still support your 2600X. Not so sure about Zen 1 CPU.
I myself updated my Strix X470I and it still works with my 2700X.

That's good to hear. So I will still can use my 2600X after updating the BIOS that enable my Strix B450F to use 5600/5700 cpu. Thanks. thumbsup.gif

Anyone here have issues with the USB C ports on x570 or B450 boards? Like IO errors or frequent reconnect/ disconnect issues?
This happens on both my Asrock B450M and Dark Hero X570. When I use the USB A ports no issues.
I recently purchased one of the front panel USB ports, and even there the USB C ports misbehave. Using the USB A ports shows no issues.
Do these USB C ports have special drivers or motherborad drivers?

EDIT: I've tested with 3 different USB C to USB C cables. 50cm, 1M, and 2M cables. Tested on my Galaxy Note 8 and MI A1.

Used to have such issue, which persisted for sometimes, i have few USB HDD and thumbdrive,
the USB disconnection is more specific issue related to cable, or the SATA-USB adapter, was using the old Asus sata to usb adapter for my old HDD, the disconnection happens very frequent until i replaced it with new adapter, now no more random disconnection.

I do also agree that USB disconnection can be related with cable issue.

All the DACs I'm currently testing at the moment (Topping DX3, FiiO K9 Pro, JDS Labs Element 3 and iFi Zen Dac v2) all stopped having USB disconnections after I switched my old ugreen USB-B 3.0 cable to a new Vention USB-B 3.0 cable.

So while AGESA does have something to do with USB disconnecting, the USB cable is also another culprit to look into.

Dang, I use alot of UGREEN cables. So far their USB A to C connectors work fine. Only Port C.
Guess I'll need to get my hands other brands then.

I don't know if it's exactly to do with ugreen cables being specifically the issue or not.
But personally from my own anecdotal experience, ugreen cables has always failed me in one way or another.

Had several USB A to micro USB 3m cables, all of them failed within a year. Yes I know micro USB is a bitch to begin with due to the shitty head design, so I'll dismiss that as a connector flaw.

Had a ugreen active HDMI fiber optic cable, 15m in length supposedly rated for 2.0. Had audio drop outs within 3 months, video drop outs after 8 months and failed after that with a short out. Thank goodness it didn't take out the HDMI port on my 3080 or my receiver, would be pissed AF.

Also still have several USB C and B ugreen cables of varying lengths between 1m and 2m, they've all started to exhibit disconnectivity issues.

Only cables that so far hasn't have any issues are the CAT6, CAT7 and passive HDMI 2.0 cables from ugreen.

Mine tends to work decently better on a dc external powered USB hub (maybe the external power forced the device to stay alive). But for audio, external hub is a nono. My DAC is connected with snake oil sgd 150 usb cable laugh.gif ... that one also gets random disconnects.

Also my own personal finding too that longer cables tend to disconnect more often. I end up using a 1m cable for my keyboard as it randomly disconnects with 2m. Pretty annoying cuz it's so bloody short lol.

But yeah. As you know i flipped table and went to blue team so i cant really comment on the current agesa.

Secondary PC with a 3700X died. Sent it for warranty claim, was told it was OOS. They gave me options to pick either a 5600X or to top up RM300 for a 5800X.

Should I top up or go down to 6 cores? This setup only has a Wraith Prism for cooling, so not sure if going to 8 is worthwhile without tweaking power usage with Hydra/CO etc.

If me I'll top up. 5800X more longevity. Want to sell next time also got better price and maybe better demand than 5600X

Obviously 5800x is the better choice since it's only RM300 extra.

But the issue with the single chiplet Zen 3s is that it gets stupidly hot. Your wraith prism will not be enough to handle it without running at constant 100% fanspeed and with PBO disabled, which kinda defeats the purpose of the 5800x gaming prowess to begin with.

So if you're going for the 5800x, do pick up a better cooler to go with it.

Yeah makes a lot of sense for me. Guess I'll go 5800X then. I can probably just use Hydra and CO/PPT/EDC/TDC to tweak its power usage.

OTOH the 5700x just launched for RM1.3k, maybe you can get that for a 1:1 exchange? Would be a better choice than the 5800x IMO.

I wasn't given the option to pick a 5700X.

Given that the 5800X should be a better bin overall (Gamers Nexus reviewed the "5800" OEM CPU with the same specs as the 5700X and seemed to conclude that too) I think I'll try my luck with tuning it.

My 5800X just died too after 1year use. Pc random restart even after change mobo and ram.

Now using 5600x while waiting the 5800x return from RMA. I think i want to stay with 5600x and sale my 5800x.

by looking at the early review, looks like it is a good buy. I'll get it if I don't already get a 5600X, save RM200.
