I've found some great lightweight free games too. Can boycott upgrades easier now.

Micron is officially exit consumer ram business, no more crucial ram and probably SSD too.
Now We are officially at the mercy of Samsung and SK Hynix

Next round in 1 to 2 years time when RAM prices got stabilized. Pick the parts you want, stop waiting and build your rig. The wait will be endless if you keep on watching prices. This is not the first time RAM prices got crazy.

GPU prices gone up in 2020, mobo prices gone up in 2022, SSD prices gone up in 2023/2024, RAM & HDD prices gone up in 2025/2026.

There is never a good time to buy lah! If theres a need for it just save up money & buy whichever you can afford.

imma buying ROG XBOX Ally X...
my subsequent purchase will not be diy PC.

it make no sense to DIY anymore.

The reason is always related to TSMC, whenever they hike wafer price, those fabless company eg AMD and Nvidia will pass the cost to customers

These nonSwitch handhelds are still having to play PC games, just via Steam but they wont be as well optimised for mobile gamer lighter hardware specs unlike seamless Switch games, so your bound to run into a unoptimised clusterfucuk like Stalker which can even put a 5090 to its knees whatmore an Ally.

If you want proper gaming on the go, either Switch or bring a PS5 Slim whereever you are planted.

Why buy from SG considering the exchange rates and taxes shipped here? The price doesnt look great after conversion.

I'm mostly playing Hoyoverse games, eg Genshin,
and i wont be playing any new games, the most i will play is Doom: Dark Ages,
Doom games starting from 2016 runs nicely with AMD hardware, vulkan API is like the best lubes on earth for the id tech engine.

I've tried with Samsung tab before, it's the best tablet I've ever used, but hardware is somewhat disappointed, tried to run VM inside it and got stuck.
Had to sold it off.
then my lappy 16GB ram was too restrictive, games like Doom eternal failed to run due to ram capacity not enough, sold it off too lol.

I wanted something that can run games and other applications, not just only games, switch and ps5 is out of question.

I'm stationing at SG, even if buying from Msia the thing will subject to import tax.

My home is at Penang lol, even if it's cheaper at Msia, the air ticket price will make the price difference become pointless sweat.gif tongue.gif

ASs long as your aware buying in Sinkieland means warranty claims have to go back there.
