Yeay for the new thread!
I am a new owner of Jazz V Modern Steel Metallic with Modulo Package. Really love this car! Just wondering, is it normal for a Jazz to hear wind noise? it is quite noticeable tho, compare to HR-V. |

QUOTE(whitewhite @ Jan 10 2017, 03:19 AM) Honda warranty is part by part. if you mod on wheels, only things related to wheel like suspension shaft and so on warranty will be voided the rest still remain the same. yeah, my brother and me wondering about the temp indicator too!! later on after read the user manual, it will only shows when our engine temp goes out of normal temp range either blue and red light indicator. if not shown then should be okay and nothing to worry about. Nope, my instrument cluster didn't show any outside temperature. but i found the temperature is not really accurate from my other Honda car. i notice that this Jazz don't even have indicator to show whether the engine is cold or hot, My previous GM3 still have the indicator to show whether the engine is in cold or hot state. When taking car, I noticed the rubber insulation not placed nicely my driver side near the side mirror corner. I can see the light coming in through the slid. Refer back to Honda SC but they did nothing about it (as usual). I push it back by moving slowly the rubber and the wind noise is reduced. |

Always adore compact car for as long as I could remember, used to own kelisa SE. Started witg the small chevrolet then hyundai getz, suzuki swift, ford fiesta, later admiring peugeot 208. But end up bought Jazz. |

Hi,
E spec owner here. I was told that if we install a reverse camera, it will need to connect to the power on the reverse light thus tampering with the cabling. Will it void the warranty? |

Different camera, different price. You can get cheap below RM100 made in China.Unknown brand. Some branded camera can come up to RM700. LEL. I don't know whether this price is already jacked up or not. I have installed one, Taiwan made. This one comes with CCD sensor instead of CMOS sensor around RM350. Try to find one with guided lines. For me, if you want to install any accessories, please use high-quality after-market instead of using cheaper materials. Because it will save your time and no need to disassemble your car parts back. I just recently upgraded my headunit.the most troublesome is to find the after market double din panel that can almost match the OEM Honda din panel. I have found some China made for RM180, more but the quality is not up to standard. At last found a Taiwan made which is better and almost the exact as OEM Honda. Same as the DRL for GK5,so many models out there. The best is the same type use in Honda Jazz Thailand.Even the Jazz X Model in Malaysia is hideous. Jazz is more sexier than City. The front face is more stylish than City. ![]() |

QUOTE(takenaga @ Jan 20 2017, 06:10 PM) What is the function for the "smartphone" icon? when clicked, it shows "unable to connect to smartphone". My phone already connected to the head unit by bluetooth and wifi. anyone know? choose bluetooth and open your favorite music apps. As for phone, you can go to phone and check if its connected to your phone via bluetooth. |

Hi guys, for V spec Jazz, how is the auto airconditioning and also the touchscreen radio? Any problems so far? And also, is it quite a fingerprint magnet?
I'm planning to get 1 but am in dilemma whether to go for the E or V spec. |

So far everything is good. it just i dont quite understand how "auto" airconditioning is working. when choose the auto option, it will give you full blown aircond even when its 7 in the morning. yup, it is finger and dust magnet.I'm planning to get 1 but am in dilemma whether to go for the E or V spec. |

Honestly, mine doesn't go full blown unless the temperature shown on the meter exceeds the temperature shown on auto-airconditioning.In the morning, it will go lowest fan speed when the outside temperature is around 25 degree. You may need to send your car to SC for a check on the temeperature sensor. |

Hi all,
Does the current Honda Jazz V spec has aircond vents at the rear seat area like City ? If not, does the front aircond vents can cater for the whole area of the car and cold enough for rear passengers ? |

Dont have, its normal front headlamps and fog lamps.Does Jazz has LED front headlamps ? For me I buy Jazz because I like small car and it is very practical for me. I once carry 50 inch brand new TV with backseat lay flat, carry my mom tall plant from nursery with all backseat lift up, Got ISO fix for my baby car seat and so on. Small, nimble, easy to park and to top it off very fuel saving as well. If you looking for small practical car then Jazz is for you |

QUOTE(oktuck18 @ Feb 12 2017, 02:18 AM) For armrest, depends u want ori or 3rd party. thanks sifu!Ori type, brand new RM1800 quoted by Honda Malaysia or RM700+ from Kedai potong (jdm used) 3rd party, rm100-200+ depends on design & quality. 1800 is way too expensive. hope to get a good condition JDM but luck is needed. might just get 3rd party with nice design n quality. have u install 1? |

QUOTE(CanonLee @ Feb 10 2017, 09:33 AM) just booked an E yesterday. need some advises from sifus 1) They gave me free tinting for Ecotint before and the heat rejection was horrible~ Is probably the cheapest tint from Ecotint they gave. In addition, is not security tint as well, once kena broke the window and shatter glasses everywhere.... Might as well I ask for rebate and go outside do tinting yourself... I went for LLumar Security Tint which is alot better heat rejection and security film....1) Tinting, Honda offering few packages provided by either 3m or Ecotint. Is it recommend to use their service (The SA gives few hundred voucher for it)? if so, 3m or Ecotint is better? 2) is the audio player USB playback? Spec E 3) would love to install armrest, any recommendations? and love to see samples thanks sifus!! 2) Can't answer you on this, using V-spec 3) Dun bother getting from Honda as well. The V-spec comes with the armrest and it was so low the extend where there isn't armrest at all unless you need to sit super low as in like layback style only the armrest comes in handy~ Otherwise just go for aftermarket outside for a higher and better armrest, cost you lesser also |

(it shud be ray barrier safety 4mil) ori armrest is too expensive by honda malaysia. since not recommended, might just get after market. However, need to find a good 1. loan approved. now processing and waiting for my number. shud get it end of this week or early next week. |

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Feb 19 2017, 03:13 PM) anyone notice the brakes not so makan? any solution other than changing to aftermarket rotor and calipers? will changing the brake pads helps? yeah, GK Jazz brake not that responsive compared to its competitor. It is not tak makan but rather lack of bite feel. The 1st 10% of brake feel is like nothing (no brake bite) but the next 10% is suddenly very makan. Brake feel not progressive.Changing other brand brake pad together with brake bleeding certainly improve braking feel. Wait till finish then you may change to other pad but will void warranty. The best possible option now is do brake bleeding to improve the feel without having warranty void. p/s: The original brake pad supplied to Honda is made either by Akebono or Nissin but usually supplied by Akebono by newer batch. |

been driving since mid of Feb2017, first tank managed to get less than 15km/l (manually calculate) but the meter shown roughly 16km/l.
hope to get better fuel efficiency after run-in and services. my jazz only travelled 700+km. very interested to install fog lamp (perhaps with DRL) and after market spoiler at this moment. Any recommendation?? |

I m planning to get a new E spec Jazz, either tinted silver or modern steel metallic, then will install reverse and front camera. So this mean i need to replace the E spec audio right? or is it worth to upgrade to V spec to get a few more toys, as price difference between E and V are approx. rm 8.4k

QUOTE(gsan @ Mar 12 2017, 11:09 AM) can consider since the mileage is quite low for ~2 years used car, as long as the car not any major problem and kena accident before. what to look for when buying used jazz?if its really well maintained i tink the price is kinda good bargain. in your opinion, which is worth? used jazz as i mentioned vs new E spec? that cheaper price exchange with 2 years warranty? Any bros here manage to swap the headlights from halogen to LED type successfully?
Is the headlight assembly 33100-T5A-J21 or 33100-T5A-J41 for GK3? Also, what are the part numbers for the pigtails / connectors? Thanks a million!!!! |

'Magat lou" knows well, basically its the knocking of each panel to see whether got patching or not. my advise it to get a pro to inspect on the car. if you know any fren who works as car dealer, they also can perform the checking job. need pictures to show the rusty part. for service wise, Honda recommend service for every 10,000km or 6months whichever comes first. Will have certain allowance for the interval but not drag too long as it might void the warranty. honda holds the right to reject the warranty claim if the car is not maintain according the stated t&c |

QUOTE(CanonLee @ Mar 15 2017, 05:33 PM) if there is claim for accident, then might have a chance to get from insurance company sadly i don noe that kind of person...so we can call the owner's insurance company to check ?for professional sifu, its not difficult to check the accident history. Will have certain allowance for the interval but not drag too long as it might void the warranty. honda holds the right to reject the warranty claim if the car is not maintain according the stated t&c i only know see chassis to judge if there is any major accident .. so how can we confirm if the warranty is still active if not service as per recommended ? |

Professional car inspection is available in Msiai only know see chassis to judge if there is any major accident .. so how can we confirm if the warranty is still active if not service as per recommended ? In fact, the jap is pro as this most recon car is sourced from jap auction is inspected. Have not personally used them but their info in the website below. Confirm service by looking at service booklet. There is 'chop' from SC to indicate service done at which date and the mileage. http://www.gookantei.com.my/ This post has been edited by mot88: Mar 16 2017, 08:41 AM |

QUOTE(pantss @ Mar 14 2017, 10:17 PM) Any bros here manage to swap the headlights from halogen to LED type successfully? I did some looking around, not 100% sure on the possibility of swapping to a high spec JDM projector LED assembly. But it looks possible according to this facebook post, i am not good with FB but i screenshot it.Is the headlight assembly 33100-T5A-J21 or 33100-T5A-J41 for GK3? Also, what are the part numbers for the pigtails / connectors? Thanks a million!!!! ![]() It looks to include all the necessary sockets to swap with our local Jazz halogen assembly. Price wise, don't look cheap. But, you know the SOP with "rare" stuff la. Then a bit more searching and found this https://www.facebook.com/groups/12898102977...424625604246455 I doubt it is RM2, more like RM2k as i seen some other used ones going for RM2xxx. Browsing myjffc, i noticed some even done the aftermarket projector LED mod, i believe an "at all costs" project https://www.facebook.com/RacingEmpireShop/p...?type=3&theater ![]() If you are looking at a simple bulb swap, i was actually looking at Phillips X-treme Ultinon H4 replacement LEDs. I did a search and it seems to be available in Malaysia but price wise is not easy to stomach. Close to 1k for the bulbs. But i heard this are the best LED swaps as it has the right dispersion, focus and cut-off compared to all other aftermarket LED kits. http://www.lelong.com.my/catalog/all/list?...inon%20led%20h4 http://www.lazada.com.my/automotive/philips/ After some further reading on fitfreak, not GK5 specific but something nice to know http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/general-fit...-seriously.html http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-interio...n-complete.html http://www.coplusinc.jp/honda-fit and some company in Malaysia that does projector retrofitting but lost the link. QUOTE(laoahpek @ Mar 15 2017, 09:08 PM) sadly i don noe that kind of person...so we can call the owner's insurance company to check ? It is very hard to tell if the car is involved in accidents before especially the minor fender benders. If they just lost a bumper from an accident, i won't be too worked up from it for the money i can possibly save. But, it all depends on whether you are comfortable about it or not. If a more major accident that knocked up part of the chassis and stuff then i would be more concerned.i only know see chassis to judge if there is any major accident .. so how can we confirm if the warranty is still active if not service as per recommended ? But a car sold within the 1st year with low mileage already would raise suspicions from either accidents or possibly a lemon unit. So, it would be hard to tell as the owner can keep all this things under wraps if they are not honest. So, you will have to take a risk with it even though it looks like a remarkably new car. If the savings are not that much over a new car. The 10 odd thousand that you can save over a period of 5 to 9 years is practically nothing on a monthly basis vs the risk or worry that you have to endure getting a used unit. Not to say that a new car would be problem free, but the chances are lesser. That is what my personal opinion is. As for warranty, as long as the owner did the service at honda dealerships and have the service booklet chopped and acknowledge by the centers "on schedule". It should be safe to say that it is intact. But, might still want to check on how transfer of ownership reflects on the warranty with their policies. |

QUOTE(Eterman @ Feb 19 2017, 11:28 AM) a question suddenly popped up this morning. It depends on the head unit. Each HU has their steering control systems or protocol. It is not a direct plug and play and it would most probably involve a ISO harness and converter and having to retrain the HU if it allows.lets say your jazz has steering audio control , if you change the stock audio unit to aftermarket unit, will the steering audio control still function? https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120ASWC1/Axxe...er.html?tp=3405 ![]() |

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Feb 19 2017, 03:13 PM) anyone notice the brakes not so makan? any solution other than changing to aftermarket rotor and calipers? will changing the brake pads helps? What sort of "not so makan" are you referring to? Fading, bite point, modulation related?btw, just installed 16mm anti roll bar and front strut bar. loving it when cornering. Changing pads might improve certain aspects of braking a bit but there might be some issues you have to tolerate like pad dusts and stuff. There is not many affordable aftermarket calipers that you can look into unless you look into big brake kits. Taiwanese ones are not too pricey but still costs a few thousands. Anything reputable such as Spoon twinblock or Endless mini 4 pot are no cheaper than 6k to get the complete kit installed in new form. If you look into chop shop stuff it might be cheaper but usually hard to come by making it expensive most of the time. So, pads are the most logical first try to improve braking. After that you can also try to look into steel braided lines although opinions differ on that. If it is not adequate from that point onwards, then you know what is the next steps. It is also good to look further into your possible options to branch out once you determine a pad change is not adequate. For instance Spoon Twin block utilizes the same brake hoses as stock which means even if you invest on a set of SBBH after your pads, you will be able to reuse them with the uprated calipers. Other BBK calipers might require different hoses due to the fitment of the hoses on the caliper end. |

QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 16 2017, 05:31 PM) I think it is actually constantly running because there is no longer a fixed proportioning valve on the brake system to distribute front rear brake forces. However, the parameters and the characteristics of how Honda integrated it is actually unknown. So, do they apply more force to the rears in initial brake application before the weight transfers to the front under braking is unknown. After that, i believe it relies on the individual wheel speed sensors with all the steering input and vehicle speed to determine which wheel with most grip can maximize the brake forces. That is something i believe EBD is designed to do in general but like EPS. It depends on how each manufacturer dials the darn thing in. |

I tried connected her phone to my Perodua Alza and it plays Spotify just fine. Then I tried connecting my phone to her Jazz and still no sound when playing Spotify. Any suggestions?

Hey guys. About to put my booking on Honda Jazz S spec. Yes, I know that S spec don't have VSA etc. Budget is tight, but need to replace my 9+ years old Suzuki Swift. So I got some questions for all owners here.
1. Is there any major/minor issues? 2. Is any issues above can be rectify with the SA immediately there? 3. What is the checklist I should do when receiving the car? That's all I can think of now. Thanks guys! This post has been edited by kidrawk: Mar 20 2017, 10:22 AM |

QUOTE(deity01 @ Mar 24 2017, 03:58 PM) Hi, noob questions here...how do we know what is the size the brake pad of our honda jazz is using? It is not a size problem. It is more of a backplate template shape. The template numbering differs between pad makers. So, there is no universal representation for it across different brands.what brand of brake pad that hv the size suitable for honda jazz? normally, you bring brake pad to tyre shop to hv them change for you or just change to whatever those tyre shop recommend? You just tell them what car and what year you are driving and they should know what pads are available. As for changing, it is up to you. General mechanic also can or if tyre shop willing to let you bring yours or you can accept whatever they sell also can. What you can do is just go to spare parts shop and ask what is the pricing in general first and then consider the shops offering. At least you know you are not being slaughtered. Take into account workmanship charges also. |

Hi all, I just want to know if this is normal for Honda Jazz (bought in Dec 2015) maintenance service. I did my 20,000 km service today. My actual km is only 17,000 but i'm late by 3 months already.
The SA told me to do my 30,000km service in another 3 months coz he said i should have it serviced 3 months ago. I estimated that in 3 months, my km will be like 20,000km only. Should i go for that 30,000km service or not? I'm confused.[COLOR=red] And this 20,000km service costed me RM500. I thought it's quite expensive. So, after coming back from the service, i checked with the maintenance service cost from Honda website, only cost around RM 246 (for engine oil + drain plug washer + oil filter + labour charge + GST). I looked back at my receipt. They added: (i) evaporator cleaner = RM18.75 (ii) aircond evaporator cleaner = RM 120.00 (iii) Nano mist = RM 68.00 (iv) lubricate frt both power win = RM 5.00 and the engine oil, instead of RM79.00 (in the website), it became RM122.00 (i thought it's ok maybe coz it's a better oil or smthg like that (they use snow-20 engine oil)). But my question is, is this normal for 20,000km service? Anyone here has the same experience like me? i want to be prepared for my next 30,000km service. Thanks in advance![COLOR=red] |

Your mileage maybe low but if it's time to service, you'll need to do it regardless on your mileage. Since you are late by 3 months service, HONDA Malaysia have the right to cancel your warranty. Hence, it's advisable to check this with your service center. On the other hand, some charges above like nano mist is not required and it should be clarified before work commences. Other than that, 40k service would be an even killer! I did my 40k service last time (whereby my mileage was only 27k km) at rm6xx |

finally my whitevision bulb failed, the filament broke into 2. Back to original philips ecovision, can't really get used to the lesser light intensity now, or my eyesight got poorer.

Hi guys. Anyone had a bearing problem with jazz? My jazz recently starts giving some noise from the back. I dont know if it's related to tyre or something else but my friend says it could be related to bearing.

Going to get my Jazz E later of the month, also doing some financial planning for this year so I would like to ask if I drive only 10,000km in the first year, I still need to go for 6mths Service once and 12mths service once? can I opt for just 1 time service due to low mileage? Or by doing so my warranty will be void?

If not, you are considered breach the service schedule and any warranty claim will not be entertained. So yes, warranty void if didnt follow the service schedule. |

QUOTE(wakjono @ Apr 8 2017, 05:36 PM) the way to test bearing is to jack the car up... the end where you suspect have problems if you do not have a lift...and rotate the wheels with your hand up to a bit of speed... then grab the absorber on the corner and feel if there is vibrations... if a bearing is smooth, it should not feel anything significant.. |

QUOTE(zhihao4456 @ Apr 11 2017, 03:06 PM) true on what you said~ I have made the appointment on 4/April and they told me latest available slow is on 20/April which is about 2 weeks+ It is a blanket statement la. But, i do think they will apply sound judgement when the time comes when you have a big warranty claim and then suddenly you get flagged due to a few overdue service schedules.I had a colleague that told me he had once encounter same matter and he said that the service advisor said as long it does not exceed 1000km from the due mileage for service then it will be ok.... But somehow I sometimes feel that if people like dun really care and hope you void the warranty so that they will be free from responsibility. I was planning to go for walk-in service instead of going for the appointment which I do not want to get any issue but at the same time I'm worried that walk-in customers car will be treated very cincai. Maybe they might reject at first but you just need to prove to them that it is not that you do not want to service on time but it is a problem with scheduling even thought when you intend to service on time. I doubt they just want to make enemies after the airbag replacement thing when everyone just rushed into at the same time. Actually walk-in customers are treated the same. But, for walk-in customers the difference is that they have no guarantees for you on when your car will be ready as it is slot into the line. Say for example if you take a 9am slot, your car will for sure be ready before lunch on a normal service. But, if you walk-in. They will just tell you to come back by 5.30 because they have a lot of cars lined up on the day itself. Priority is not given to you la is what i am trying to say. They can also reject your walk in if you came in too late and said they might not finish on the same day or something. Actually most centers accept walk in before a certain time of the day only. So, if you go by maybe 11 or lunch time, they already close for accepting walk-ins. As for whether cincai, they rush work or anything. I believe even scheduled cars also will rush work if they have too much to do on the day. They have people there doing scheduling and everything and in theory this should avoid the mess ups. There is no way to say for sure. This i am sure. Not like you can pick the mechanic also which does the job. This post has been edited by nm7: Apr 11 2017, 03:20 PM |

QUOTE(CanonLee @ Apr 19 2017, 12:12 PM) sifus, IMHO, 0W30 and 5W30 has no difference in our tropical country because the xW is meant for the oil viscosity at 0 degree temperature.usually drive on morning and evening and mostly cruising on highway. i believe is more recommend to take thicker engine oil right? such as 0w30 or 5w30 havent change any oil as only done less than 3400km after 2 months. But the number after W is more important because it states the viscosity when the engine is hot and running. |

Today do my 20k service, when they show me the quote, they trying to bill me 500++
Normal service is already RM290+, then i want do alignment and balancing which is RM79+, then there is an extra RM185+ stating Full System Service which shoots up to RM550+ I was like WTF is that, they told me is a recomended annually bassis service that helps to clean the engine carbon deposit. Im not sure whether is it neccesary but i told them to take it out in the end before final billing. I would want to know is that really necessary? Or how often do u do carbon cleaning for engine? |

And also I skip any cabin filter and engine air filter coz I maintenance it by myself. Outside is much much cheaper and higher quality. I am using BOSCH Carbon filter for cabin filter and K&N for engine air filter. |

I was planning on buying the Honda Jazz, but was reluctant after reading some issue with the CVT. Sharing this long long post here if any Jazz owners have issues with their CVTs. Apparently changing the CVT fluid once, or even twice in a row should help. Or perhaps even do a stall test if necessary.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-generat...ent-points.html From my research ALL CVTs have a particulate filtration issue and Honda does not address this issue at all. I have seen this in many of postings of CVT oil analysis particulate counts that I can find on the net. Also, changing a CVT at the 30,000 to 60,000 mile interval the factory wants when I have seen oil analysis with a high particulate count at 13,000 makes no sense. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-generat...rd-noise-2.html SO! the noise and vibration came back. But instead of taking it to a dealership i decided to go with my gut intuition and do a full 8 (technically 6 quart, but you cant buy half quarts) quart drain and fill of the transmission with brand new HCF-2 from the dealership. Ran me 108 dollars in total. I did all the labor. After about 3 hours. I was done. I'm currently at 4200 miles on my 2016 EX GK5. Piece of advice to all new car owners. IMMEDIATELY REPLACE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE FLUID. Both of mine came out brown with very small metallic debris in them. I dont know what they put in their new cars when they roll off the manufacturing lot, but it must be replaced ASAP. Unless there is some sort of specialty instructions, REPLACE ASAP. So far after an 8 quart flush my car feels 90% better. the vibration is almost entirely eliminated, and the low hum/howl during engagement in Park, Reverse, and Drive is nearly nonexistent. I was told and experienced myself that the best way to flush a transmission is to do it at least 3 - 4 times. I plan on doing another flush at 10k miles when i change the engine oil as well.. Please! if you have NEVER replaced your transmission fluid do it SOONER than LATER, you will not regret it! If no one has done a write up on how to do a CVT fluid flush for a 2016 Honda Fit, ill do a write up later. But so far its worth the 108 dollars, the results and peace of mind. I do plan on following up with a complaint to honda about what I've experienced. I know it wont go far being I dont have the oil anymore for proof. I just want them to know this was a piss poor quality control job of the fluids in my car and hopefully get some sort of reimbursement for the 180 dollars i had to spend extra outside of the warranty because dealership were either being willfully negligent or just oblivious. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-fit-73/...-fluid-2846665/ Not necessarily. Honda as of late has been plagued by automatic transmission failures in many models. Since many Honda trannies do not have a replaceable ATF filter, and since Honda does not recommend power-flushing their automatic transmissions, changing the fluid on a more frequent basis than the specified interval is an inexpensive way to keep contaminants from building up and to keep the fluid fresh. Keep in mind that only about half of the total fluid capacity can be drained out of the case when changing the trans fluid; the rest remains inside the torque converter. Heat kills transmission fluid, and heavy duty such as stop-and-go city driving and/or hauling a lot of people around will create a lot of heat in the trans. Independent testing has shown that ATF-Z1 does break down much more quickly than the specified service intervals would have you believe, and I've seen a number of transmissions develop problems even before the first service interval is due at 60,000. Often you should just go by the book, but in some cases Honda gets it wrong. For example, Honda's original recommended service interval for the Dual Pump fluid in '97+ RealTime 4WD rear differentials was found to be far too long, as the fluid would often break down so quickly that the diff would start making growling noises while turning as early as 30,000 miles. Honda eventually revised the service interval for Dual Pump fluid to 30,000 miles, and then later to 12,000-15,000 miles for the first service on '07+ CR-Vs. Another example is valve adjustments - Honda specified a valve adjustment interval of 105,000 miles for B20 engines so that they could advertise "no tune-ups required until 105,000 miles." Many of these engines sustained damage to the cylinder heads due to tightening valve clearances before even reaching 105,000 miles. For the record, I change the ATF in my personal vehicle every 20,000 miles. Depending on model, I recommend trans fluid change intervals anywhere from 15,000 (for '97-05 J-series, '97-01 H-series, '98-02 F-series, '01-03 D-series) to 30,000 miles ('88-00 and '04-05 D-series, '90-97 F-series, '92-96 H-series, all B-, C-, G-, K-, L-, and R-series). For CVTs, I recommend changing the CVT fluid every 15,000 miles for '96-00 Civic HX and every 30,000 miles for all other CVTs. $25 worth of fluid once every 18-24 months is a lot cheaper than a $3000+ remanufactured transmission. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ http://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=6465.0 Get some CVT-F x2. Case holds 5.4l and only 3.2l comes out on a drain, so change is done twice to flush. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ http://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=8817.0 It's not difficult with the right facilities, there is a drain plug and a refill point with dipstick. You should only use the Honda fluid called I believe, CVT-F, and drain, refill, run the car selecting all the functions and then drain and refill again. You will need twice the amount of oil specified for the capacity of the gearbox. Do a search on here, there is loads of info on CVT oil changing. Vic. *PS - This is probably to flush out the remaining cvt fluid left in the torque converter. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ http://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=94.75 *Note that this is for older CVT with start clutch, and not for current Jazz which uses a torque converter. Just carried out a CVT flush on my (new to me) 2005 Jazz with 91k on the clock, problem has completely dissappeared! ;D I can't be sure how long the problem has been going on for as I only bought the car 2 weeks ago but before the flush, once the car had warmed up the judder was very noticeable (whole car vibrated as if going over a gravely road) if anything other than veerrry light throttle was applied from standstill. Honda warranty expired last year, they wanted to charge me £150 for the procedure! I instead bought 2 (4L) bottles of CVT-F fluid from Honda (£40 each) and proceeded to do it myself. For the benefit of any other fellow DIYers here's what I did: 1. Jack the car up on left side and drain old transmission fluid by undoing the bolt with the square indent as shown here: http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/A00/HTM...3001KBAT00.HTML 2. Clean any debris off of the magnetic bolt and remove jack so the car is back on level ground to allow more dirty oil to pour out. I even jacked the car up on the opposite side so even more oil could drain out! 3. Refit drain bolt. (advisable to use a new washer but I used the old one) 4. Fill with new fluid via the transmission dipstick hole using a short pipe and funnel of some sort and check underneath the car for any leaks. I poured about 2.5 litres after which stopped and checked the fluid level on the dipstick, adding more as neccessary until it reached somewhere between the two 'cold' dots. 5. Start the car and engage all gears one by one. check fluid level again. 6. Find a quiet street and drive up to about 25 mph and coast down to zero – 6 times. as recomended here: http://www.thaipulse.com/blog/thailand-pla...ssion-problems/ At this point my judder was still there, albeit not nearly as bad as before so I decided there was nothing to lose by carrying out a 'stall test' which apparently clears the dirt on the start clutch as described here: http://nzhondas.com/tech-help/145635-cvt-s...stall-test.html 7. Stall test: fully depress brake predal and slowly raise the revs till the stall point, should be 2500rpm (very disconcerting noises may be heard!) and drop again, idle for about 2 minutes then do the same in reverse. I repeated this 3 times in D and R. Do not do this for anymore than 10 seconds each time! Idled a bit more and drove back to my garage, surprisingly the judder was almost gone! 8. Drain CVT fluid again and replace with second bottle of CVT-F. I carried out the 25mph coast to stop procedure again at this point. I've driven the car on traffic jammed London streets as well as on the motorway since the flush, and can safely say the judder has totally and utterly gone - here's hoping it lasts and never comes back! Whether the 25mph to coast to a stop procedure had any effect I don't know, but the stall test seriously had an effect almost immediately, although it should be noted that this should not be done with dirty fluid in the transmission as it will just jam more gunk into the start clutch. Hope this is helpful to somebody out there @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ |

konchy - Thanks for the article. Best know method for CVT is to do flushing at 25k km and next 50k km. Later just continue own the original schedule. I bet it would last. My Jazz Hybrid is already 100k km and no known issue on CVT (*touch wood*)
Also older CVT (before Jazz GE) or Honda City iDSI (with CVT) has that known problem with CVT. I believe Honda has fixed the issue. |

i usually drive thru highway back to my hometown about 2-3times/months, noticed the distance the fuel needle moved from its full tank position depend on my "human-cruise" speed , less than 100kmh seem to use less fuel than 100kmh and above.
Any GE owners noticed the highest cruising speed without exponential increase in FC is below 100kmh? or its just my placebo? p/s: no actual numbers, kinda unscientific ya... |

Hi.
I have been a jazz owner for around 16 months. Few days ago I accidently scraped the bottom of my front bumper when I drove into a rather deep hole in the parking lot. Upon close inspection I noticed there is a 5mm gap between the bottom of the left headlamp and bumper. Not sure whether it was caused by the accident or has been there all along. Any owners experience similar issues? Thanks! |

Replacement is 1 watt, let me check the amp draw from the original ledYou sure the OEM wiring is totally ok for it? Dothan Here is the measurement. Replacement is actually ~1.8watt while the original one is around 1.6watt. Look at the amperage, it wont harm the tiny OEM wiring. Sorry that I have only 9v multimeter, but it's regardless for car 12volt measurement. This post has been edited by Quanta: May 12 2017, 08:46 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

I know that jazz is good in fuel economy, so thinking of whether the money save from the fuel is worth to pay up the difference in price or not.Today I have made the decision to purchase jazz, but so bad being informed by several carseller that jazz is totally out of stock now. |

I'm a freshgrad and got a sales job for my work later which need me to run for some distance per month. That's why I have made my consideration range from persona up to Honda. So far my salary is manage to cover up my loan if I take jazz, which takes up like around 15% of my monthly income. But just like what you said, I'm not ready to spend this much of money in purchasing a vehicle. However, the fuel save from jazz per month is almost able to make up my loan pay per month from persona to Jazz, that's why I have became the weird person that you have mentioned. |

QUOTE(lukevin @ May 11 2017, 10:56 PM) guys, need advice on rim size and tires. you first must know what is your intention of changing to bigger rims. Planning to change from 15" to 17" not sure if good idea or not. Will it sacrifice a lot of performance such as braking, acceleration and FC? Don't plan to lower car, so may wanna avoid big gap between tyre and fender Bigger rim = heavier = Braking time increase + Acceleration decrease + FC Increase Unless you getting a light rim, different rim size but roughly about same weight then your braking, acceleration, a fc would be same as stock. Only benefit is looks nicer. 17" is just nice to avoid hitting the fender or maybe rub abit. Then your tyre have to be thinner since bigger rim size. You lost your comfort of driving as well. |

Just put on a new set of 17x7 ET42 with Yokohama Advan Flava tyres (205/45/17) yesterday. Just did a little normal driving so far so I couldn't comment much about FC or acceleration. However, the car's been a lot more stable due to the wider tyres... at the cost of a harsher ride QUOTE(bobb_86 @ May 19 2017, 07:20 PM) interested in changing my jazz ge stock rim to jazz gk stock rim.. do i need to change the tyre as well? any advice? zero knowledge on rims.. You can check the size of your rims/tyres just by looking at your existing tyres to see if they still fit on your new rim of choice. Not sure about the GE but the stock GK rims comes in 2 different sizes ie 15-inch and 16-inch (diameter). Some read up for you here: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/a3682/4281033/ |

Kinda confused now. the sticker prepared by Honda SC is stated exactly 6 months after the 1000km service. Which means similar with yours also. however, i drive it frequently and with some distance. Guess i am heading back before the scheduled date. |

Hi sifus,
Need some info as I'm thinking of getting Jazz S spec. Have few questions: 1. Any problems with manual aircond coz HRV S spec manual aircond knob has problems. 2. Any noises coming from rear suspension? 3. Any humming sound from auto tensioner? 4. Any problems with CVT? 5. Any other problems mechanically or electrically with Jazz during your ownership which cannot be solved by SC. Looking for feedback especially from >1yr Jazz owners. I'm asking these questions coz HRV (which is based upon Jazz) has these problems (#1-#3). Tq in advance. |

Yesterday I took my Jazz for 1000km inspection, after the inspection.. my car engine sound became noisier and aircond also got kick in kick out like that (but air flowrate remains the same, cooling also same).. when press oil pedal heavily, slight lag in pick up like some power split given to aircond is that normal after mileage hit 1k?

They didn't do anything like oil change other than inspect your car engine only.I think it could be your car "loosened" after initial 1k run. |

The new jazz launch is less of a wow than the city launch. Although i applaud HM for testing their dct in malaysia, there is no option for led headlight for either petrol or hybrid.

QUOTE(CanonLee @ Jun 8 2017, 11:02 AM) this is just too nice! 1) Can go to FB club jazz (Fit3 GK Division - F3GKD). Lot of people sell bodykit mugen, modulo, RS, J's Racing Noblesse and much more.few questions on your exterior: 1) bodykit recommendation workshop 2) wheel offset best recommendation for 15" 3) fuel efficiency on you ride 2) Wheel offset best is 38 and below. 38, 40, 42 is good for 15" 3) Mine is 12.5km/l 40% highway 60% city. On highway i always speed up to 160-170 km/h |

For android phone you may need to add special chip, if Im not mistaken. |

I think it's only 360p/480p. Hard to find cast that is able to support that resolution. |

QUOTE(SerioseCat @ Jun 29 2017, 07:15 PM) this thread is not as active as other car clubs? This car doesn't give much issue to me except the break squeaking sound in the morning or after parking for a long time. Touch wood but I love this Honda Jazz very much.Wonder if that is good thing (no complaints) or a bad thing (unpopular)? Pretty snappy in city driving |

anybody can share with me their aftermarket reverse camera pic quality or vid quality? Im confused between the so called OEM reverse camera (China Brand) vs OEM reverse camera (REDBAT brand). Pricing diff is about double but I'm concern bout the camera quality and durability.
The OEM reverse camera (China Brand) - RM200 include GST and fixing http://www.mudah.my/Honda+jazz+2014+2015+2...it-55804639.htm The OEM reverse camera (REDBAT brand) - RM400 include GST and fixing http://www.mudah.my/REDBAT+RB+283+Rear+Cam...16-44555503.htm Kindly advise me if you guys got any other OEM camera beside my 2 option yea..tq tq This post has been edited by intel_centrino33: Jul 2 2017, 08:53 PM |

I install the first link the RM200 one, at that shop. The OEM reverse camera (China Brand) - RM200 include GST and fixing http://www.mudah.my/Honda+jazz+2014+2015+2...it-55804639.htm The OEM reverse camera (REDBAT brand) - RM400 include GST and fixing http://www.mudah.my/REDBAT+RB+283+Rear+Cam...16-44555503.htm Kindly advise me if you guys got any other OEM camera beside my 2 option yea..tq tq The quality is okay, its a bit blur but acceptable. however, mine is V spec Jazz, so its just a matter of plug in the camera and it works. However, the focus mode of the camera will not work, it only change the line shape, not the camera focus. Honda reverse camera got 3 different mode, you can change only the overlay line image, not the focus like the picture below. |

Alloy rim made from Aluminium Alloy which has lower specific weight of less than 0.3kg/cm3 where steel rim made from steel (iron alloy) which has higher specific weight roughly 0.8kg/cm3 for 15" and 16", differences are (for the same tire's outer circumference size) 15" - cheaper tyre price, less bumpy, usually lighter and hence better fuel efficient 16" - look nicer, brake not so makan others factors such as cruising feel, cornering ability are subject to tire type, width, tire side wall height and hardness and etc etc. |

For those who feel that the Jazz brake is spongy, you might want to try this. Brake hard until the ABS activated. This was what SC inform when the complaint of brake spongy was made during the service. That's all they did and tested the brake feel is now better. I would have thought they bleed the brake fluid but they didn't.

Mechanic outside of SC told me... if you ever engaged brake till ABS triggered, most likely your rubber brake hoses had become swollen.2 factors causing the swollen: a. Intermittent pressure build/release due to ABS b. Air bubble formed within the hose The sponginess of brake causing by many factors. I don't think by engaging ABS will solve the issue. https://www.pepboys.com/car_care_corner/car...ft_brake_pedal/ |

Hi Jazz users,
Would a mountain bike fit inside a Jazz with rear and front passenger seats folded down? With both wheels on. I have fitted a 26" MTB with 17" frame wheels on inside a Perodua Kembara so wondering whether Jazz can do it as well. Thx |

ABS works by cutting the pressure of brake intermittently to prevent lock up.There is no diff of pressure from day to day emergency braking in non-ABS car. If brake line is swollen when ABS is activated, think that it will be manufacturing defect. |

just a quick check with sifus
i went for 10,000km service yesterday. the service advisor recommended wheel balancing and alignment @ RM85 before GST. i rejected it and the SA claimed that i might face difficulties on the relevant parts warranty if anything happens. Kindly advise on this issue, will i face problem if i do my wheel balancing and alignment other than Honda SC? if i do outsude, i can choose reliable sifu with cheaper price. 1 more thing, Honda recommends engine oil 0w20 for jazz. do you guys recommend other grade such as 0w30 with higher price? i was first thought Honda was going to recommend 0w30 but they said 0w20 is more recommended for jazz. i chose 0w20 and i really feel more powerful and lighter food compared to before changed. |

I searched for this in Facebook and found out that newer model indeed doesn't have blue light indicator, not because of full spec or low spec variant.
If chassis number contained 'GD' then you will see the blue light indicator. If chassis number contained 'HD" then you will NOT see the blue light indicator. Also someone said SC told that cars these days don't require warm up hence engine low temperature indicator is no longer needed |

QUOTE(kevinpss @ Jul 19 2017, 08:58 AM) I'm wondering why Honda Jazz Hybrid cut alot of spec? Other brands offer Hybrid car with more spec than normal car. But not Honda Jazz Hybrid. If they put all the gadget, then i think price will above 100k But i think they really should put at least paddle shift bcoz of dual clutch |

QUOTE(kevinpss @ Jul 19 2017, 02:00 PM) I plan to get Jazz Hybrid....but the price a bit high for a CKD Hybrid leh....any agent here can comment? FYI , I've booked Jazz Hybrid. Now its Honda strategy. Simple - they do not want to cannibalize the sales of V spec. For example , if they have added some V spec stuff into it , it would mean it would be priced about 2-4k higher compared to V specs. A lot of people would have opt'ed for Hybrid spec I was a bit disappointed that they did not include 6 airbags |

Usually they make 6 airbags as stndard and other safety equipment too |

QUOTE(kevinpss @ Jul 23 2017, 02:08 PM) You should check out the Hybrid variant. I am not to sure about Honda QC , probably it's CKD and corners have been cutI would be missing a lot of features from Fiesta by moving to Jazz Hybrid |
