Hi all,
Sorry, not sure if it has been asked before but can I just flash bloatrom/vendor rom to global rom using the updater function in the phone instead of using EDI? Would it clean the phone of bloatware/vendor rom or I'll need to flash it using EDI to fully clean the phone? Thanks. |

I failed to flash twrp recovery. I already unlocked bootloader, follow the step by step in the guide. however when i adb devices in cmd, the list of devices is empty. Anyone can help?!!  |

Just temporary TWRP...it's good to keep the stock recovery for OTA later...
If need to permanently flash TWRP, you have to firstly cook custom boot.img file of MIUI Fastboot ROM using Android Kitchen. Follow link below: Cook/cracked/moded boot.img Method (not easy lohhhh...) anyone got a good reminder app to recommend on the RN3? not too sure if its the phone problem or user problem. i've tried google keep and gtask. the notifications somehow just wouldn't work correctly.
when i set a test reminder for both gtask and google keep, they work fine. but when it comes to setting my real reminders, like taking my medication with repeated daily reminder. it just wont appear. no badge notification on the app, no pop-up notification, heck even no notification in the notification pull down page. how can something so simple not work correctly is really driving me nuts  |

Is it normal for the fingerprint sensor to not detect correctly.. Like everyday I have this problem once or twice. Have to unlock using pattern and then if i try back.. it works fine

Have to unlock using pattern and then if i try back.. it works fine this happens when put in pocket where fp scanner touch with inside pocket. several time happen, fp will be disabled. can solve this by using case dat have thick back which have individual hole for camera, led flash and fp scanner.

i guess this is a common thing to ask; anyone got gps issue after updated their pokemon go? i install the latest pokemon go frm gplay, non rooted set here. but pg said cannot detect location.

recently i have unlocked bootloader and root my phone, but didnt flash to any custom rom.
running on global 8.0.2.0 if i update OTA, will it lock my bootloader and i need to redo the process again? |

once you unlock the bootloader, there are no reason to use EDL except if your phone is bricked. You can use FASTBOOT or even upload the ROM to your download folder and update from the phone.
As for OTA, it will work fine. At least mine can OTA without issue. |

do you have recommendations of good case? preferably with the auto (magnetic) screen off (aka the smart screen off) function and card/wallet slot. search and collected bunch of offerings of rn3 cases in lazada but i might end up visiting physical shops for this.

I ordered a Meizu MX4 from Lazada last month.
It has a defective SIM card slot and cannot detect the SIM card. I printed out the return form and submitted the whole package to MBE. Got my full refund into my credit card account in 3 working days.  |

the rn3 i bought already crashed on me twice in 3 days. both happen when i start an app, the only app run on the phone...it just hang for a good 2-3 minutes then crashed and restart on its own. while my rn2 never crash with on start of the same app which already installed and use for almost a year.

i have standard chartered master debit card but fail to pay after key in the sms tag number... btw, what is 3D secure? can't find anyway to register on sc website.... Anyone has problem where you call someone and the person from the other side cant hear your voice? I'm having this problem with this phone sometimes. Have to make the call again then only back to normal.

i am exploring into protecting the phone against theft.
Is it possible to protect xiaomi phones to make it like iphone where they cannot use the phone without proper unlocking method? From what I see now, the thief can easily just flash the phone with mi flash and can use already. |

After my moto g 1st gen ran into problem after flashing custom rom (
, mac address becomes 02:00:00:00:00); Searched around for cheap mid-range phone, bumped into this thread and decided to buy redmi note 3 pro (mainly because of custom rom and huge battery, i don't like the large 5.5" though). Got it for around RM500 from Gemfive after 25scb discount. Initially, just want to try it in opened box condition but the annoying pop-up and bloatware left me no choice but to replace the vendor rom.After read 70% of MIUI forum (as shown in first page of this thread), I follow the steps. Without much hiccup, stable global rom in my redmi now . My advice is to download all necessary files/ app prior to flash: ADB, Mi PC Suites, Mi Flash (only ver. 20160401 work for me), Rom (I unzipped it twice to extract all files into original state). My laptop is old AMD running windows 10 64 bit.Hope my experience can help anyone want to remove vendor rom. Happy Dewali |

Conclusion,
RM500 + own effort = Global RN3 = RM649...(?) Imported set still maintained at RM500... (less 10% further if voucher)...

I'm surprised that such a basic issue is not given much attention. Calling is primary feature of the phone. I'm on MIUI 8.0.5.0 stable build. I faced this issue 7~8 times today. The person I called can't hear anything from me and neither can I hear anything from the other side. Call gets connected and that's it no voice from both ends. Hi, I just purchased a redmi note 3 from a Sony Centre and they claimed it is a Malaysia Set and they sold it to me at official malaysia set of RM849.
when i got back home i just realised it comes with a two pin power adapter instead of a three pin. so I verified the IMEI in mi website and i got this message. H3B CMCU 全球欧规电商版 (1.8G 3G 32G 灰色) literally translate to Global Euro Version. So i guess this is not malaysia set? if it is not then can i ask for exchange or complain to the sony HQ? still can claim waranty from Malaysia service center? Thanks! Finally got some time to tinker with my RN3.
1. Applied for unlock code this morning and received approval sms at 4pm. 2. Flashed cn rom with EDL and unlocked, reflash back to global stable and unlock again. 3. Flashed alka twrp in fastboot. Don't reboot or else twrp will be erased, just vol up + power to enter twrp 4. Nandroid backup, wipe factory reset. 5. Found out that my front cam is S5K5E8, so I have to use Santosh CM13 6. Flash the following, enjoy a) CM13 Firmware b) Santosh CM13 c) Camera Fix for Santosh CM13 d) Camera Blobs e) OpenGapps |

After experimenting so many ROMs and Custom Kernel, I found that Xiaomi.eu rom based on 6.8.11 with Custom Kernel resulted in 7 hours SOT for me for heavy data usage and slight wifi usage.

Hi guys. I bought xiaomi note 3 via lazada last week (sold and fullfil by lazada) and the box says Thorus set. However..when i want to buy tempered glass..it doesnt fully fit the screen. Then i compare to my friend's note 3 (bought from xiaomi malaysia), mine seems to be a bit bigger. Any idea?

After ngam ngam 2 months of using Redmi Note 3 Pro, now the phone refuse to charge already..I plug in cable to my laptop, my laptop detect surge, ask me unplug immediately..Plug into Aukey QC 3.0 charger, i can hear there is noise coming out from charger..

so i factory reset my phone and use mi backup to restore, but the scroll lag is still present but considerably less. i will see how it goes. if it is still doesnt work, i will use edl method to wipe clean my phone

I just bought my Redmi note 3 pro from Terabyte. But the box comes without seal ? Is it normal ? And there's a finger print on the screen protector...
