QUOTE(turtles_tszx @ Nov 18 2016, 03:15 PM) Hi, I will be arriving Narita on Friday, 3:50pm and transit to Haneda for my next flight on 8:30pm. There's an easy option NRT-HND using the limousine bus but the price is quite pricey at 3,100 yen. I notice that there's a Access Express Train from NRT-HND at 1,800 yen but im still unsure and i dont want to make any mistake of taking the wrong train. I have used hyperdia to check the train line and it seems that i need to transfer at Aoto Station despite although they mentioned it's a direct train from NRT-HND. Have anyone tried using the Access Express Train? Any review or comment? I check narita airport website it stated there the express access is 0 transfer so should be direct d. If u in doubt, u can ask the advice at the tourist kiosk at the airport there 1. They are very very friendly to help d...

How hard it is to find a local festival in Japan in August? Skipped Obon since there's too much crowd but I still want that matsuri exp. I'll be going around 23rd-30th August. Still deciding whether to stay just in Tokyo or bounce around Tokyo-Osaka.

It's better if you have your own friend to tag along though. It's not easy traveling with other random strangers especially if you're not a frequent traveler.

Panic, panic. Still don't know where to go... Except for Akihabara, Shibuya, Roppongi. A bit of a mistake to stay so far away from Narita, and morning flight out some more. Hope I manage to reach the airport by peak hours; don't wish to be packed like sardines with backpack!

Hi guys. Planning on traveling to Osaka from 30th Nov till 6 Dec. Travelling with wife, 3 year old son and 3month daughter. My plan is basically to get the Osaka amazing 2 day pass to cover most of the tourist attractions in Osaka. Will go to the aquarium and maybe the legoland and also the Santa Maria cruise for my boy.
Would also like to visit Kyoto and Kobe. Might stay a night in Kyoto itself. Last day of the trip will be spending night near the Kansai airport for rinku outlet shopping.
What do you guys think, upon arrival in Kansai, should I go straight to Kyoto and spend a night there before go to Osaka? Is it cost effective and efficient rather then start my trip from Osaka then to Kyoto and back to Osaka?
One more thing, do 3 year old kid need to pay for the public transport in Japan? Thanks.

Just returned from a short trip to Osaka/Kyoto (5D4N). Wish to share some of our experience which may be helpful to those who are contemplating to visit Osaka soon. Flight: Low cost Carrier. Accommodation: Hotel in Shin Osaka which is only 7 minutes walk from Shin Osaka Station/ Midosuji Subway Station. The downside is the hotel room is relatively small and can only accommodate a couple but not family with a child tagging along. We have no complaint about the room in term of cleanliness and friendliness of the hotel receptionist. But talking about the size of the room, I would believe this the norm in any of the travel class hotel in Japan. The easy access to the train and subway stations is of tremendous help to us in reaching Nara ,Kyoto and Down town Osaka. Sightseeing: 1st Day we began our tour by taking JR train to Kyoto and subsequently transfer to JR train for Nara to reach Inari. We spent around two hours in Inari but did not attempt to walk up to the peak of the hill. Then we continue our journey to Nara by taking the JR train for Nara. From JR Nara Station we took a short bus ride to reach the Deer Park/Todaiji Temple. The bus Station is situated just right beside the JR train station. We spent the whole afternoon in Nara. We returned to JR Nara Station by taking the bus we earlier took (we were too tired to take the walk back to the station. It should be around a Kilometer ) Reurn to Shin Osaka by JR special Rapid which took around 30-40 minutes. To be continued.

Second Day: Took JR Train to go to Kyoto. Reached JR Kyoto station and headed to the bus station which is just right in front of the Central Exit. Proceeded to board Bus No.100 and got off at Gojo-zaka bus stop to visit Kiyomizu Temple. It was an uphill walk to reach the temple. You definitely would not feel bored because the passage are lined with shops on both sides selling snacks, souvenir and Kimono for rental. After visiting Kiyomizu temple, we walked through Sannezaka, Ninenzaka, kodiji Temple, Maruyama Park,Yasaka Shrine and Gion area. Honestly speaking it was quite a long walk, but luckily the weather was kind to us. Proceeded through Shijo street to head to Nishiki Market. Lunched and shopping at the Nishiki Market. Spent the 2 to 3 hours there. Headed back to Umeda by taking Hankyu Kyoto Line from Kawaramchi station . From Umeda Station walked through Umeda district to visit Osaka Sky Building. Returned to Hotel by taking Subway Midosuji Line.

Advise to stay at Osaka then traveling to Aquarium and Legoland..as this area are nearby. Stay Osaka 2 night are recommended.. ,if you planning to visit Kobe for Day Trips ...Only 30 minutes by train from Osaka to Kobe..recommended visit to Habourland ,Kobe..Here also have Kawasaki Museum and Kobe Tower...After Kobe ,then move to Kyoto .Recommended to 2-3 night to spend here..then move to Nara for Day Trips then overnight at Rinkku nearby Kansai Airport...shopping at Rinku Premium Outlet.. 3 Year old kids are Free of Charge for train. For buses, you need to pay the fare.
