Anyone in Tokyo today and for another week or so? How's the weather? I'm counting days for my flight now.

QUOTE(sacwoc @ Oct 3 2016, 09:11 AM) It has been raining for the past week. And weather is forecast to be raining as well this week. There is some typhoon, but not expected to hit Tokyo. Temperature is pretty nice, average 25C and sometimes 20C which is very rare in Tokyo. Paiseh....hopefully it will not be raining for the whole week the moment I am there. Another 18 days to go. |

QUOTE(littlezai @ Oct 14 2016, 12:14 PM) I'm going for 10 days. 2 days would be the compulsory Mt Fuji and Hakkonne, one day at Roppongi / Odaiba , Disney Sea , I have a rough sketch on location and using Odaigo to route my way easier. Now we just can't decide to buy Metro or JR pass since JR are more on the bigger places while Metro covers more smaller places etc . If airasia just 1 flight so arrive at midnight. You can either lepak at the airport or go lepak somewhere near Ginza. There is a midnight bus to Ginza from Haneda. My plan is going to Yurakucho and lepak there until the first train. I didnt buy any pass as I only use SUICANow one worry is my flight arriving is night at 10.30pm and Air Asia famous for tunggu sedikit, etc etc would be done by 11.30pm minimum so pretty scared on train cause our Airbnb is at Shin-Ohkubu which needs intertrain keiku- shinjuku - shin Okubu, whereas the bus heck need to find out . Any of you guys night flight like mine can share what transportation you think best to take incase the train station closes at midnight? |

Came back from Tokyo on Nov 1st. It was a great experience. Especially when we joined the Halloween Street Party in Shibuya for 2 nights and attending Sengoku Otome PS Vita game official launching event.
Now, we have another plan, to Sapporo during winter. From the route we gonna take, JR Pass is the best option but we still have thousands in our SUICA card. Can we use the card for vending machine or local train/bus or something like that in Hokkaido? In Tokyo it was like widely use. I know KITACA/SAPICA for Hokkaido. QUOTE(sacwoc @ Nov 11 2016, 03:31 PM) At first I thought I wouldnt need the pass. But from Toya to Asahikawa gonnna cost me more than 10k yen one way, so we decided to get the pass. But what I am afraid of is, train cancelled due to heavy snow. I dont know if that will happen. Maybe sifu RegentCid can give an advice on that. |

QUOTE(turtles_tszx @ Nov 25 2016, 03:33 PM) Are you using a new passport? My friend kena tahan and had to open her bag for checking. I went earlier than her and had no problem and she had to check her bag. I assume her passport is brand new. Not possible also. My passport was a brand new. First stamp is from Japan immigration. No check. I passed the checking counter like less than 5 minutes. He just asked to take off my cap, thats all. And it was 21st Oct.This post has been edited by Azuma-kun: Nov 25 2016, 09:26 PM |

I brought 150k yen for 10 days of staying for budget travel. We can't tell you how much to bring. QUOTE(lastlovesong @ Feb 4 2017, 03:51 AM) [attachmentid=8458052] U have 2 transfer there. Need to pay twice. Since 2 different train company. (Kyoto Line) KARASUMA > AWAJI (change to Senri Line) AWAJI to TENJIMBASHISUJIROKUCHOME. Out from the gate, u have to pay ¥400 for all this. Then from TENJIMBASHISUJIROKUCHOME take Osaka City Subway Sakaisuji Line to NIPPOMBASHI for another ¥240.Hi everyone, As per above pic from hyperdia, i got question about the transit at tenjinbashisuji 6chome station. The grey arrow means direct train/no need change train right? so where do i pay the 240 yen? do i need to get down from the train and purchase another ticket at tenjinbashisuji 6chome station and get back to the same train? or pay whole 640 yen at karasuma station? No really direct. U need to transfer line, then tag out, tag in again. Grey line for 1 fare is because u're using the same company line. Instead of using that route, try using this one. No transfer at AWAJI. U have few choices when using hyperdia. Choose the easiest one. This post has been edited by Azuma-kun: Feb 4 2017, 10:49 AM |

QUOTE(sonyclie77 @ Feb 4 2017, 01:57 PM) Guys just a quick question, I'm going Tokyo in the next few days. As hotel and flight tickets has been taken care of, I just need to prepare cash for spending there. Around 80k yen? Should be more than enough if u have card. For how many days?Is RM 3000 enough? I can put the rest on card. Mostly will be roaming around Tokyo with the exception of one day going to Gotemba Outlet. Thank you. |

QUOTE(sonyclie77 @ Feb 4 2017, 02:44 PM) Around 76k yen. Yeah I'll charge the rest to my card whenever possible. 5 days, 80k, that is da bomb already. It's 5 days 4 nights but arrival in Tokyo is late at night, and by the time reach hotel will be around midnight. So 1st day is technically spent on travelling. |

I rather spend more days in Kyoto compare to Osaka. Osaka can be completed in 1 day.
