it is not a normal trading account

the one offer in maybank2u is indeed a SHARE MARGIN account, it is dangerous if you do not have proper discipline and game plan as the MARGIN account provide facilities for you to buy shares. Similar like borrow LOANSHARK $$ to invest in KLSE.

if want invest KLSE just open account in any securities company (i.e TA, OSK...) It only cost RM10/= for registration a CDS account

i noticed m2u has this SHARE MARGIN account too.
can m2u just be a normal KLSE account?

i'd just like to monitor shares and use my own m2u money to invest.

What is share margin account? It's that if I dont have enough credit in my account I am still able to buy the share but loan it from the bank? Correct?

What do u mean by trade on yourself? Means sell and buy I have to do it online right? Anyway, if i open my cd account at osk but I am using maybank account to trade...Am I able to buy using maybank account but sell by telling my osk remisier?

Thanks

It is like you put RM 100,000 into the Margin account, the bank will prodive you the total available fund RM 200,000 for investment purposes. Means the bank will provide additional RM 100,000.

Scenario 1--- You only use your own RM 100,000 to invest and dont touch the margin facility from Maybank, then it just act as a normal CDS account.

Scenario 2---You fully make use of the RM200,000 to invest (Including the additional RM 100,000). Then the bank will charge a 5~10% interest on the RM 100,000.

You place the order and it goes to the dealers who do the transactions; its not direct to market so there is a bit of delay in terms of execution. This can be a problem with really volatile counters as sometimes orders only partially matched or not at all.

Share margin financing for CIMB allows you 2x the cash you pledge or 2.5x the shares. Even then it depends on what counter. For larger lines, customer would have to specify if margin is used for single counter or basket of counters; blue-chip or otherwise as this affects the terms and subsequently the limit. Usually there is a quantity or price limit for counters which is supplied to customer.

interest kicks in at T+5 and interest rate iirc is BLR + 0.75

Any Maybank2u online trading account user here? Please share your experience here, got any issue you're facing, or any benefit with this trading account? I just open an online trading account in Maybank2u but havn't started to trade. It seemed like we must open a Premier1 account, which will charge us RM5 monthly.

the benefit from maybank2u share margin account is that you no need to pay for the 1.5% commission for the remisier. (not so sure, the last time i buy anything through maybank2u is 3 years ago)

now their latest beta stock trading website demo looks quite impressive, with all the graphing and things.

but do remember if you are using maybank2u nominee account, you cannot apply IPO shares. If you need to apply IPO you need to open another account with maybank security (can't remember the name correctly)

NaMyzarC,

You're using Maybank online trading account? Is the Premier 1 account neccessary? I found this account charge me RM5 monthly.

Quote from Maybank2u website:
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank_group/..._premier1.shtml
No Nominal Fee
No hidden cost, No auto-transfer fee. With Maybank Premier 1, only a nominal monthly fee of RM5.00 in exchange for all the value-added benefits that are extended exclusively to all Maybank Premier 1 Accountholders.

-sucks, sometimes it can't load properly

CIMB
-better, commission charge is 0.42%, discuss with your broker, if RM100,000 above they charge u 0.1%, and if u a heavy trader then u also might get a lower commission charge

now using CIMB, their graph not so details but it did offer a solution than nothing, if u really want analyze the stocks, better use like metastock

Can someone tell me the different brokerage fees? Also, with so many online trading options, why are most prone to just using between CIMB/Maybank? Is there a specific reason?

speedyguy10,
I believe you need to have a current/Premier1 Account to link to your CDS account.

Best is to contact Maybank directly to get more detailed information from them.

I know, this thread 'ended' long time ago, so let me refresh this one again?

Anyone still active using maybank2u? To trade online? Just wanna ask 1 question. Is there anyone know what cause this problem?

user posted image

"Unable to detect dealer" on my status when i try to buy some stock.

I asked the customer service, they said that remiser need to do something on their systems to enable trading through online. But when i call the remiser, he said that the system cannot be done. Or blablabla. I dont knwo if he try make his voice unclear or what. Something fishy... blink.gif

But i'm pissed off. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif Already put 5k trust to trade online.

FYI, when using maybank online stock, they charge brokerage rate only (0.7%*(70%)) or minimum rm28. If using remiser, still charge 0.7% or minimum rm40. No monthly charge what so ever. Open premiere 1 only cost you a few hundred ringgit. But still can withdraw your money again after you get atm card.

So anyone experienced it? Any comment or suggestion. BTW, maybank2u online the online stock that okay in my office. Other than that, slower than m2u... Tq

Hahaha... finally, i went to aseambankers. They said, some remiser 'have a problem' with their online system. So they dont open their terminal for online trading. So you CANT save more on your brokerage because you need to call them to buy or sell stocks. 0.7% compare to 0.49% i think...

I went there, change to another remiser who love and willing to help customer to do online stock. thumbup.gif

Added on April 25, 2008, 12:31 amand also by the way, the shares held under nominee, has beneficiary named under the agent/bank, in this case is maybank, that means they have the rights over your shares? is it?

I went to Maybank share invest centre yesterday and asked a few questions:

1) need to open 2 accounts, one CDS and one trading

2) accounts have no monthly fee, but will be deactivated if left dormant for 3 months, but can always reactivate

3) fees are... if we buy online ourselves its 0.4% and if we call in it's 0.7%

Now, i have a question.. is it true that with the trading acc we open with Maybank, we can't buy IPO?? what is a nominee account?

Hi guys, I've just been using the Maybank online share trading. Yeah, just like a few users said it before, the update is kinda slow, maybe coz there are many users using it. Apart from that, I think it's cool. For you who are using the Maybank stock facility, come and share it here! And for you who wanna know anything about it, can just ask here..

I don't like Maybank's online facility. It's the same as Alliance's.

They use ActiveX. So no support for Firefox. Very bad..

Guys, to apply for the Maybank online facility is very easy. Just go to the nearest Maybank investment centre, and apply from there. 1st, they'll charge only rm20 for the application to open the account. Wait 1 week, and your account will be opened.

After that, u hv to link ur trading account to your savings account. (so that easier for u to transfer from ur maybank account to ur trading account).

The process is very simple.. wink.gif

It's 2 different things actually. Firefox is an internet browser such as internet explorer while active X is like a plug-ins. A software that is needed in order for the internet browser to perform such actions or contents.

If not mistaken, Aseambankers account is registered under Maybank one. You cannot apply for IPO through this account. Maybankinvest account can apply for IPO.

You need to fax in a form to withdraw the fund back to your savings/current acc. That's what I do when I trade through aseambankers.

ya money cannot just transfer from your trading a/c. you have to fill in a withdraw form then fax to the maybank securities then the will do the rest.

hi. actually aseambankers account allow you to have a direct account. if you open with Maybankinvest then you will be using a Nominees account. When you open aseambankers' account, a remisier will be assigned to you.

alisa,

wow.. already profiting...?
it's easy.. just pre-sign a form and leave it with the person/remisier handling yr ac.
or like they suggest, get a few copies of the fund transfer form. then fill one, sign and fax to the remisier handling yr ac.

cheers..

Yes, for sure. Only online trading allows you to get cheaper price cos it's DIY. But I think for beginners it should be good if they have a remisier to guide them. Only thing is, must make sure your remisier is really good. biggrin.gif

I need some expert advice here...

I just submitted an online application form together with RM20 (credited from my account) to open an online share trading account. If i am not wrong it is a CDS account (not too sure).

Meaning, with this account approved in 1 weeks time, i will be able to do online share transaction?

thanks

Added on September 26, 2008, 4:04 pmHi can anyone help me here?

Thanks

Added on October 6, 2008, 12:27 pmDoes anyone know how i can activate my account? It has been nearly 2 weeks but no reply yet from Maybank re the RM20 that i paid for a CDS acccount.

What I DON'T LIKE about maybank2u...

- interface not very friendly and now they have irritating pop-ups to tell you your settlement date is today.

- constant time-outs when I'm sure most people would want to leave the live prices streaming the whole day.

- frequently shows "System Busy" when you want to make transactions like checking your portfolio.

- after trading hours, always "System Down For Maintenance" which means you can do research or read the reports on weekends, etc.

- easy to put money in to buy stocks but difficult to withdraw after selling. You need to make phone call and sometimes it takes more than a day because needs approval, e.g. once when I wanted to take out RM50k.

Hi hsiengloong.

If not mistaken after you submit the online application and the money, you need to go to maybank's SIC(Share Investment Centre) to activate your account.

However, Maybank should contact you and ask you to go there. If you still haven get any call from Maybak then I suggest you try to call Maybank and ask.

Btw, one of the SIC I know is Maybank at Pudu.

I hate to put down a service over another, but people registering with Maybank are experiencing much more problems than other brokers online interface. I wonder why do people still register with Maybank. Is it because of convenience?

I really suggest you Maybank users to apply for a secondary broker somewhere else. Since Maybank is a online systems only without any broker assistance to sell or buy. Comes a time in these volatile markets when you want to escape the sell-off but is stuck due to Maybanks inability to provide you with a lag-free service or an service whatsoever.

Apply for a broking house with actual brokers you can call. I believe most brokers can receive online deposits to your accounts from major banks in Malaysia anyway. So I don't see how any other broker is different from Maybank in that department.

Most brokers allow you to trade online. Even if the online interface is down for whatever reason, at least you call up your broker and tell them to sell or buy whatever you want.

Today market is a good example of a market falling but Maybank service is down. Is there anyway you can reach anyone in Maybank to sell your stocks if the market is really crashing for good?

I went to open a trading account last week in maybank and that's what they told me.... that I have to open a cash account if I want to buy maybank stocks. When I asked them why it was so, they told me that you can't use maybank account to buy its own shares....

Anyway, I'm a noob in stocks.... hope to catch the fallen knife on the floor... wishful thinking, I know... laugh.gif

You can divert to the online trading when you login thru the main site (there is an online stock login below first time login).

Kinda pissed off with maybank. Went to open a cash account more than 2 weeks ago but still not approved.

Called them today (probably the 5th time) and they said "got some mix up problem".... whatever that means....

Anybody can recommend me any other banks that I can open an online trading account with? However, I would need easy fund transfer (no charge) to that particular account from maybank and HSBC......

i got acc with maybank too. I waited for a week and call them but they said not yet open cannot activate. BUT I went ahead and activated it online myself and GUESS WHAT!! I manage to activate online.

So I went ahead and trade. Then after 3 days, got call from Maybank Shareinvestment telling me now can activate. SO guess there are too slow huh. Anyway I did not tell them off.

I think HLebroking can transfer funds from Maybank also.

Maybank2u is always like that. Very slow and bad navigation and always to have more outages than others.
I heard they outsource this to a local MSC company that supposedly perform world class work.

I think they better get their money back.

First time doing online stock trading so forgive me for the noob questions..... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ordered some stocks through maybank stocks online at 3pm.... guess it went into the buy queue....

Then when I check the status at 5pm, it showed "All matched" at around 3:02pm...... however, I think the transaction hasn't gone through yet....

Can I cancel the order or should I just wait for the "buy order" to go through tomorrow?

And can I actually queue any orders tonight? hmm.gif

It depends on whether the one you open is Nominees Account or CDS Account under your own name.
If you open your account at Dataran Maybank (Bangsar) then most likely your one is not a nominees account.

Nominees account you have to deposit money into the trust account first before you allowed to buy anything. When you sell, the money also will go into your nominees account. You cannot withdraw money from nominess account into your current / savings account using Maybank2u. Must sign a complete a form and send to them via fax or by hand. Usually take 1-2days for the fund to go ito your account. But you enjoy lower brokerage compare to notmal account under your own name.

CDS under your own name, you don't needto bank in money first before start trading. You are allowed to buy first and settle on T+3 up to the trading limit granted to you when you open the account. They will give you an account number to bank in money for your purchase. IF you use Mybank2u to make payment they will charge RM1 transaction fees. When you sell the proceeds will be bank into your maybank account if you have one. This type of account you must open at Dataran Maybank. The brokerage is slightly higher then nominees account. biggrin.gif

Just want to know more about Nominees Account and CDS account...

If I transfer 2k into my Nominees account(Premier 1), then the system will allow me to buy 2k of share right.
So when I wish to make the payment to my CDS account, can I use the amount in my Nominees account? Or, I have to use another 2k to pay it?

This thing really confused me...

Thanks for help.

Anyone heard of Jupiter securities?
They also offer online trading.

Their charges are FAR FAR lower if you trade cash or contra.
You can earn with just 1 tick.

I havn't got the time to check it out yet.

You are allowed to trade 3 times the money you deposit into your Premier 1 a/c. So if you put in 2k, you can buy shares up to 6k.
Let say after you bank in 2k, you purchase share worth 2k and your Premier 1 a/c become zero, you still can buy another 4k of share without deposting again into the Premier 1 a/c. biggrin.gif

I know about the 3X investment margin. I am asking about the settlement of the share.
From what I know, we have to complete the settlement after three days from the day we placed the order.

So, how to do the settlement? Is't directly deduct money from my Premier 1 account?

Thanks.

Hello, I've got a question regarding intraday trading using Maybank2u.

Normally I know the brokerage fee is 0.42% commission.
If I do intraday, can anyone confirm what % of brokerage fee it is? Is it 0.15%?

I opened my account way back in 2006... so i'm not sure. I don't remember having an option back then, but I do realize that there is a discount for intra-day trades. Anyway I'll try to observe the results after the maybank online system has processed the report by tonight, and check against the online calculator. If it's 0.1% it'd really make my day =)

Nop, but you get you monthly transaction reports thru m2u which tell you what you have transacted and how much left
if you need real time balance, call your remesier, that is the only way

Yes it will deduct directly from your Premier 1 Account. If you purchase amount is more than what is available in your Premier 1 account, you need to deposit extra money into ypur Premier 1 account by T3.

Hi! all experienced M2u sifus, need you help clarifying some questions.

I just got my accounts opened last week. And now I have two accounts, cash a/c (CSxxxx) and contra a/c (MJyyyy)

Q:
1. Does contra account come with margin facility by default? If yes, how much? If no, how to go about getting the margin facility?
2. (a) How do I pledge my FDs as a collateral for cash a/c and contra a/c?
(b) What is the facility available in each a/c upon pledging such FDs?

Thank you.

Thank you so much... finally I got the answer... But I missed the chance to grab the share when the price is low.
I was worrying need to fork out more $$ to do the settlement because I put one lump sum into the Premier 1.
Okay, now is still not too late to know, i hope so.

Nope. You need to go to Maybank's share investment centre. Ask your local maybank branch for more information.

here are some of the issue i have encoutered
if you are accessing from some internet connection that has mutiple NATs or restrictive firewalls, please try HTTP real time instead of real time.
always download the latest cab file for trading module and main module
if you are using IE8, please turn on compatibility mode (the difference is obvious) if you have been using you will know what i am talking about haha

Thanks aeronic....tried the HTTP real time mode seems like still the same....but today i tried Public Bank Online Stock seems like the problem resolved but not in Maybank2u........i think may be due to the cab file .....cos Public Bank using cab 2,61,2008,1114 but Maybank2u using cab file 2,61,2008,1025........anyway, will check with maybank staff how to update their cab file. Thanks & good day! smile.gif

you should contact your remisier , these few days the market is hot server is busy just like submitting your income tax on the last few days (but trading on M2U is better)

If there's any buy or sell stocks to be made and the connection is uncertain, contact your remisier

maybank2u's stock trading app uses activex applet and the favourites are stored locally using the storage allocated for the applet by IE.
it is not updated into the server.

been using it on IE8 Compatibility View, XP SP3 since morning till now.
no problems.
don't waste time updating your Java VM, there is not part of maybank2u stock trading that requires Java VM available locally.

can view the Online Stock d after using IE8 32-bit. I think the OST only supported 32-bit IE browsers, not 64-bit ones. smile.gif

anyone can explain some about maybankinvest to me here? tongue.gif
because i am using a cash account.
so just now at around 1pm i make a order of 50 units of shares at a certain price which is lower than the market price at the moment.
(they send the order at 2pm)
after an hour, at 3pm, it shows 'all matched', so i should had bought the shares right?
but the weird thing is the balance in my premium-i account haven't been deducted.
so will it be deducted tomorrow or?
or i still didn't get the share?

The funds will be deducted on T+3 which is the settlement date.

Cash account can also contra (contra just means buying and then selling before T+3), and it is no more dangerous than non-contra trading..... both are risky... wink.gif

just want to share that if you're using Windows 7 RC, you can't save your 'My Favourite' lists for good. Would have to add the list back every time you logging in, so rather quite troublesome and time consuming.

So, for convenient of trading, keep XP or Vista. smile.gif

Margin financing means borrow bank money to play stock..so the risk is higher..if after T+3 the share price drop, you'll have to sell at a lose. Share margin financing is meant for short term trading..so the risk of losing money is higher..unless you're very very very sure that the share price will increase within 3 days after u bought the share (take into account also the brokerage fees)..otherwise better invest with your own money ;-)

Is it a must to sell after T3?? I thought they'll only force sell when there is a margin call only?? as long as the margin is not at the specified level, those shares won't be sell but the customer will need to pay interest on the amount use to buy the share??

please correct m if i'm wrong

if you want to trade online stock, DON'T USE MAYBANK!
their server and website simply sucks.
Why?
(1)when you type ost.maybank2u.com.my which is the direct link to the online stock, after you type in your user name and password, often you will be redirected back to www.maybank2u.com.my and you need to login again there.
what for? pretty stupid i guess.
(2)some more their server is very sluggish when sending order, you can try yourself, my experience is btw. Maybank and Jupiter.
Maybank only sent my order to BMSB (appear in the Q) after at least 30 secs or upto 45 secs after i place my order while Jupiter sent my order to BMSB almost immediately or within 5 secs.
(3)you can only check your account balance once in a bluemoon, because most of the time you will get server busy problem but they already improve this features nowadays, i get higher chance of success when attempting to check my balance.
(4)the Portfolio for Maybank isn't that good compared to its competitor, you only can view how much share you own but you can't view how much you earn or lose.
(5)Maybank Invest appeared that they charge 0.1% or min RM8 for cash account but they charge RM12 or 0.42% first and only refund the difference every 10th of each month, what for???
(6)the most weird thing about Maybank invest is that they don't have a central customer service hotline which you can refer to when you encounter any problems, i tried called to 1300-88-6688, they ask me to call some 03 number but end up they tell me they don't have central customer service and they can't check my account details, i need to REFER TO MY OWN BRANCH REMISIER if any problem arose.
doesn't it sound weird?
(7)there is a great chance that they will having schedule maintenance during weekend (after friday market close until sunday midnight), today luckily didn't have this stupid maintenance.

I agree with you...
1)Yeah I experienced that many times.. worst still I have to relog just to view research and announcements
2)My remisier is very good, placing order isnt a problem to me..
3)Viewing Account Summary is painfully slow and doesnt work most of the time... sad.gif
4)My portfolio doesnt work...
5)Not sure about the charges..
6)Have you tried contacting your remisier ?
7)yup...

Your annual report will be send to nominee a/c, i.e. maybank. If u required the annual report, or want to attend AGM, etc, you need to tell your remiser/ agent you wish to do so.

Jupiter not bad.
the response is very fast (after you enter an order, bursa receive your order almost immediately while maybank needs at least 30 secs to do so

I wandering anyone know the calculation of the brokering charges here in maybank2u.com.It will be better there is some example of the calculation been done which involve the stamp duty, clearing charge etc for the profit and loss calcultion on the buying and selling shares.

Another question here is whether the money after selling your shares will be deposited into your Premier 1 Account and if yes, can the money in the acc been transfer to another saving account.

You can read the guide on this here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1039913

Look at Part 3 : Commissions and brokerage fees.

My examples are based on Maybank's rates. However, they give rebates on the 10th of every month for those who open the accounts after September 2008. I think the promotion ends next month. Not too sure as I didn't ask maybank.

Yes, the money will be deposited into your Premier 1 account after 3 days. In order to transfer money to another account, I only know that you need to go to your maybank's investment centre or alternatively fax a completed form to them to instruct the transfer.

this is what i did - if you dun have a fax machine, you can scan / take picture of the document and email to any of staff at the branch where you open your account. Simply get to know one person and liaise him / her everytime. smile.gif

Thx for the answer, one more question is about the premier 1 account. I wandering whether any annually or monthly charges involve here as from the maybank website, it seems to be there will be RM5 charges per month from your bank account except your account have certain amount of money.

I do not really agree.. Maybank2u does not allow us to order direct to bursa malaysia. The order must go through the dealer first. This may cause late order to bursa malaysia. For exmp, we order as early as 8.15 am but we can view the order key-in at pass 9 am. For the case of thin volume, we may not trade that day. Do anyone face the same problem ??

M2U does all the clearing of dividend for you, however, I see that a fixed charge of RM2.50 is deducted from the amount. Also, you tend to receive the div a bit later (around 3-4 working days) probably due to cheque clearance & admin.

What mean here with the long waiting respond is on the buy sell popup window where you key in your buy/sell order.. It takes a very very long time to get verification window pop up can get the order placed. this happen even after trading hours between 7pm to 9pm and 8am to 9am.

I'm sure you too experiencing the same problem for the pass few months.

well, if you want to trade the cheapest, try maybank share trading.
0.1%/minumum RM 8 + stamp + clearing
i am not promoting for them, but I just open an account with them.
But from the thread, I can see that it is not so good rated.

I will try it, since it only take about <RM10 to do one trade.

I recently got a new DELL Notebook with Windows 7 installed. I can use the IE8 for Maybank2u stock. However, I can't seem to add the stock to my favourites. It gets added but when I login the next session, its empty. Anyone encounter this problem ?

I am using the compatibility mode.

Other function seems to be working. Any one having this issue?

I saw from maybank site that this promotion is up till Dec 2009 only. Terms & Conditions

So does it mean that it wil go back to 0.49% next year ? If it does, I am thinking of switching to CIMB. Any other M2U users with similar thinking ? hmm.gif

i think the brokerage fees are different base on account type,
one is margin/contra acc and one is cash upfront account.
I think above promotion is for cash upfront account.

better ask their incharge person.

Yup, cash account commission is 1% or rm8 minimum. They normally extend their promotion every quarter. Temptatively promotion ends in December. Margin account commission is 0.42% or rm12 minimum I think.

You can't use ATM/normal transfer for this. Login to online stocks, the 'other services->cash collateral withdrawal' option is on the top navigation bar, then choose 'new request'.

"We are conducting a scheduled maintenance of our systems to provide you with better services. During this time you will not be able to login to access Online Stocks. Please come back again later."

I have a question here, if your IPO purchase is successful and your CDS account is nominee one, what will happen to the shares purchased?? Will the application be canceled and money refunded? Thanks.

The money is already transferred to MIH so basically maybank doesn't hold your $ anymore. You need to wait for the cheque from MIH, it will take 1-2 weeks. If you don't get the cheque by Dec-2, give them a call(actually now you also can call them if u want lah).

I believe that we are not the only "victims" of maybank in this maxis IPO. Why maybank write the CDS account number in the "CDS Direct Account" field in all their letters sent to me? Somemore their system automatically set the nominee CDS account number in our eShare profile maintainance page. If based on the 1st day closing price @ 5.42, I rugi rm6k lah vmad.gif

REcently i had the chance to use my Maybank share trading account.

First of all I find the experience adequate. I placed my order for a stock but couldn't get a match it was then i tried to cancel the order and increase my price which only then my orders were matched. The money was deducted under T+3 and I held it there.

I also experience problem accessing the trading site where I can view, buy or sell my shares. Hence to over come this problem, I called the branch who opened my account, remembering that I might be able to give oral instructions.

So in fact you can do so. The only difference is that the charges are different, being 0.3 over the internet and 0.6% over the phone.

Today i sold my shares over the phone and within 5 mins, it was confirmed.

So I won't say its lousy but if u call the branch itself its alright. 0.6% is the same as some remisers out there so I am happy with it.

I just paid tuition fees to the god of Share Market...I hope its money well spent....

Thanks for the info. You're more helpful than the customer care line guy.

Hi, thank you for your information.
Currently I have been with Maybank Shares Trading for around 1 year but I have not traded any shares using this facility. All the while I use a remiser. I have a question, let's say if I want to sell the shares I bought with Maybank Online, how can I withdraw the cash? Previously it can be done by using a manual form, but now they have automated it.
Is this the correct way to get the cash from shares?

Added on January 9, 2010, 5:41 pmHi, I just found out this can be done using Cash Withdrawal. Thank you.

i open a Maybank online stock Cash account, just because it is 0.1% brokerage rate. Today receive the contract note(buy) and find out that brokerage rate still 0.42% for my recent transaction. Is it anything wrong? Or because i sell the share before payment done?

I dont think there is much of troublesome. Just fill in a form, (I e-mail the counter I want to transfer) and the shares will be in the CDS account you want one day more than the normal cds to cds. Maybank will charge you rm20 for each counter. vmad.gif

Everything seem to be paid extra.... dividend cheque charge rm2.50, share transfer charged rm20... vmad.gif share transferin/out takes one day extra.... bonus/rights/dividend payment will appear in our account one day later. mad.gif

actually i think most online stock investing transaction did not gone thru remisier so there's basically no remisier anymore, at least for the cheap online fees.
if going thru remisier, minimum fees would be RM40 if i'm not mistaken..
even Maybank's remisier isn't remisier after all, they are Maybank's employee hired to handle account opening/closing issue, customer service, etc. or perhaps advice you on stock..

It is still the same as Maybank extended the "online stock incentive" rebates until March 2010 (if I'm not mistaken, heard it from another forumer).

1) What is the different between eShare, Fund Allocation & Online Stocks?
2) Which would you recommend between "Share Margin Financing Application" & "Non-Margin Facility Application"? and Why?

I have not been able to sign on to Maybank2u for a few days now. I narrow down the problem cause to the ip address that I am getting from Streamyx. Even since I am given ip range 175.144.xxx.xxx, I can't sign on to Maybank2u, it's as if this ip range has been banned. That is my guess, coz when I use the same system to connect using dialup (dial 1315), I was able to access to Maybank2u. The ip address with dialup connection is other than 175.144 range lah. But dialup connection is slow so I still not able to do much as the pages loads very very slowly.
I have reported this to Streamyx, just wonder if there is anyone else having problem accessing to Maybank2u, and using the same ip range?
Going to other banks web site is no problem at all.
This is rather incovenient to me since I use Maybank2u for online trading.

Intra-day means within the same trading day.

Therefore, the answer is NO.

Yes, they do send a financial statement to you every month. It also includes details of all your accounts in Maybank too.

Hi Guy,
I wonder why my maybank2u stock cant view stocks' Technical Analysis.

By the way, if we wan to set a buy/sell value in market close time.
let said Stock A current price was RM2.00

I wish to set it auto sell when its fall to RM1.80.
How to do it?

Appreciated if someone could give me some guide.

Thanks....
*
Question asked long time d, but think want to answer coz zamans98's answer seems dangerous.

the answer is no coz...

1. says the price now..

best buy
1.995
1.990
1.985

best sell
2.000
2.005
2.010

2. suddenly u put sell 1.80

3. then the prices will be...

best buy
1.995
1.990
1.985

best sell
1.800
2.000
2.005

4. So people will wallap your stocks at 1.800 terus sell to 1.995... making profit

SELL HIGHER PRICE than current price = OK (coz your price will need to que)
SELL LOWER PRICE than current price = NO (coz people can wallap terus)

I dont know how M2U works nowadays. Back then during HKCW hot time, I did tried to do something like this with my M2U nominee account. Even if you place to sell lower than the first buy price, the system automatically match the price to the first buy price. Its true for vice versa as well. Thats why I think those who keep on pushing the price up by one batang are those who buy/sell through broker on trading ground.

Regarding to the Maybank promotion with minimum RM8 and 0.1% bokerage fees package, what the meaning of "immediate trading value upon cash deposited " and "Immediate trade confirmation and online settlement". For example, if i buy 1000 share with RM1 per share, i need to pay RM1000+other fees. After buy the shares, The trading account need how long to updated the balance? Because i am already buy a new share and the balance still maintain and nothing changes. In opposite, if i sell the whole share, normally need how long that money bank in to my trading account and updated the balance? because currently i need the cash in hand....

Not too sure about the meaning of the phrases but in terms of trading, whether you buy or sell, the money used/received will only be reflected after T+3.

Guys, is the promotion still valid for Maybank2u online share trading?

Another question, I have been involved in share market for about 5 months, but I'm going for long term investment.

What does it mean by contra T+3? From my understanding, does that means that lets say IF I buy in CIMB at 7.4, after 30 minutes if the counter rise to 9.4 (assume la biggrin.gif ). I submit my sell queue and I'll earn the profits immediately?

Of course I understand have to take the brokerage fees into consideration, can someone guide me?

Thanks alot

Take a look here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1039913

You'll earn the profits but only get the money after T+3.....

AFAIK, the promotion is extended until September 2010.

I didn't fill in the employer's details when applying as I'm still a student, but they will limit your trading amount to 20K if not mistaken.

Hi all,

New to stock trading here. Just opened a Direct trading account with maybank recently and would like to start trading soon.

Topped up my trading account and selected TRUST from M2U, but noticed later from my trading account summary that my Trust Balance is in negative. Would like to know whether is this normal? And what does a +/- represents in this case?

Thanks i advance =)

Hello,,,

only internet explorer browser can use for trading in maybank2u.... if u use other browser u cant view live quote.....
After log in trading acc using internet explorer maybank will give u a small file that u need to install..... (make sure ur pop-up is enable)... After u install the file u can view live quote n can start trading....
U can also use mozilla firefox but u need to install i.e. tab from add-ons... after u install add-ons u add the maybank2u trading URL address in i.e. tab.... u can see i.e tab icon in tools after install i.e tab from add-ons....

Hi all, just wondering any sifu know how to solve this problem: any change of settings inside the m2u trading platform is being ignored, e.g. add/removal of column, or when I add a stock to favourites, it will be loss when I click on "Live Quotes" to reload the trading platform again, etc. This is frustrating! I am using IE8+Windows 7. Thanks!!

Hello good afternoon everyone...
Currently, I'm considering whether i should open a Non-margin online trading account with Maybank2u or Public bank. I wonder which 1 is better for an online trader. So i need some suggestions or advices from u guys. If possible, pls briefly list out the differences between online trading services that provided by PB and Maybank2U.
For wat i know, each transaction will involve brokerage fee, clearing fee and stamp duty. Is it true? If yes, can u guys tell me what is the rate for those fees.
I will appreciate any useful comments. Tq

Maybe you should refer to the thread 'Online Trading'. You can get more info from there. I just went to open an account with ECM Libra Investment Bank. I guess they are providing more benefits compared to other online trading accounts, at the moment. Try check out their website for more info.
Anyway,Maybank2u s*cks......

0.49% min RM28 if you open direct CDS @ HQ (Dataran Maybank)

0.42% min RM12, now promotion 0.1% min RM8 if you open nominee CDS @ Maybank Branches

Either way, should take a look at ECM Money or Jupiter for cheaper rates...

It look like the promotion 0.1 % going to stay.. It have being like that for more than a year now.
I think our brokerage charges all round is not very high.. I don't see the reason why we should continue to look at the cheapest.
More important the system must have a high RAS ( Reliability , Accessibility and Serviceability). I rate CIMB is better than Maybank) since I could get my order through with less than 10 seconds before the close or opening. As for Maybank it usually takes more than 20 seconds. I can easily see this with the system side by side and I am using a very fast Unifi at home.

It is 0.1% ( initially charge at 0.42 and end of the month refund of 0.32) . I think there is a minimum charge on whichever higher...I don't have that problem yet as all my previous trades are of a sizeable blocks.

i try to q buy for warrant but got error saying 'Cash product only'. I'm confused as I do have cash in my account and I can choose CUP if needed to. But the system rejected me nonetheless.

now i try this to another warrant but this time i can q but without problems. now that's weird. i don't see any difference from the type of the stock as both are warrant (the first one was Jotech WA and the second one was Hexagon WA). so i tried another counter - IRCB WA and OCTAGON WA.

I got rejected on IRCB WA but I can que for OCTAGON WA. do anybody knows why?

I believe its because their exposure to the share has reached 10% and above.
Thats why you will experience problem buying warrants selectively.
Usually I would call my dealer to open up the limit.

experiance the Number xxx dealer not detected before, its because of a step they've missout when creating your account.

How come dealer must be around for you to trade? i thought the point of going online is to skip the dealer part.

Most Brokers Online Trading account is "Straight Through" process, meaning you can key in your order anytime even before market open or you can set GTD meaning you can key in to buy or sell untill a future dates. Please check with the broker, this should be a very small issue

CUP - money already assigned to the order ... a safer option . SO ALWAYS USE CUP. ... like money upfront.

DUP - money not assigned , you may or may not have enough money in your account.

Maybank will give you 2 CDS account. 1 nominee, 1 direct. Use the direct for IPO.

I'm using windows 7, IE9.

Everytime I log in, the favourite counters which I include is missing.

I have to key in everytime I log in.

Is there anyway I can maintain the favourite list?

It depends whether your account is under SIC or MIB. The main difference is that MIB's account allows you to apply for IPO with SIC's can't.

MIB's account charges for Normal Trade [0.60% (min RM 40) /0.30% (min RM 40) if less than 100K] and Online Trade [0.42% (min RM 28) / 0.21% (min RM 28) if more than 100K]. If you opened it under SIC, you get the 0.1% or minimum of RM8 for cash account, meaning no margin trading. If you want margin, its the same as MIB's but at minimum of RM12 instead of RM28.

So, do you want to apply for IPOs? whistling.gif

Nowadays people prefer online trading. Its cheaper too. Yes, you need to open a CDS account at one of Maybank investment branches. I opened my at the Ampang Park branch.

The rest you have to ask someone else.

I would like to know what's the online trading brokerage fee + stamping fee?

I purchase 2000 units of a share of RM 0.375 and MBB charges me RM779.23.

So I assume the brokerage fee + stamping charge is RM29.23 which is around 3.89%.

It's the same cost as calling my broker over the phone.

Please advise if you have the same problem.

You are buying too little volume, that is why you kena minimum charge.

For your case RM 0.23 is from clearing fees and RM 1 is stamp duty... which leaves RM 28 as your minimum charge. sweat.gif

Buy more or negotiate for lower minimum charge for a lower cost %. For more details look at Q&A thread for the exact calculations.

I think most of us do. It just means that the rebate cannot be transferred and requested as cash. The rebate is credited back to your account every month.

u sure about that? coz trading online will not charge so much. now they got promotion of min RM8 broker fee. even if no promotion also RM12 broker fee per transaction. u have to check with Maybank and ask what are the fee charges. make sure u know what they charge for each transaction. sometimes may due to error.

u sure about that? coz trading online will not charge so much. now they got promotion of min RM8 broker fee. even if no promotion also RM12 broker fee per transaction. u have to check with Maybank and ask what are the fee charges. make sure u know what they charge for each transaction. sometimes may due to error.
*
Thanks understand now.
I'm planning to switch to other broker firm that offers lower brokerage fee at minimum at RM12.

i dunno why my Maybank online trading cannot record my favourite, every time relogin, all have to configure again..

Also, would like to ask how come i cannot transfer the money from my trading account to my normal saving account? same also I cannot transfer money between my margin and cash trading account
*
when you log into maybank2u or when you use your atm card, do all your accounts appear? i.e. your savings account, your margin and cash trading account are shown on the same screen. if the shares account are not shown, it means that maybank has not linked your accounts together. call the maybank branch where you opened your shares account. once it's linked, you should not have problem transfering the money online or at the atm.

Yea. Got the same feedback from my broker.
But I think I will switch to APEX, they are charging minimum of RM12. Suitable for small player like me ...

Go open a trading account with Maybank Share Investment Centre and not Maybank Investment Bank to get that RM8/RM12 instead of RM28.

I believe you opened a 'wrong' account.

Primarily one is maybank and the other is maybank investment, technically both are different entities..

The difference between two account is the SIC one, you wouldn't not be able to apply for IPOs while the MIB one, you can.. SIC as many have noted, charges cheaper brokerage fee.

Otherwise, everything is the same.

Hi, there is another more convenient way to access consolidated broker report and price target.

Check it out from http://klse.i3investor.com/jsp/pt.jsp

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - Uncheck Enable Protected Mode.

Restart your browser and it will solve your problem.

It's works. Thanks DigitalTech.

btw, in WinXP it works perfectly. There is no such option (Uncheck Enable Protected Mode) and no need to uncheck.

Any Maybank2u online trading account user here? Please share your experience here, got any issue you're facing, or any benefit with this trading account? I just open an online trading account in Maybank2u but havn't started to trade. It seemed like we must open a Premier1 account, which will charge us RM5 monthly.

Been using them for a while, function wise is ok, but only can run properly with IE, even when they said is T+3 or T+5 you still need to have money in your account to trade.

Other options you may want to considser:-

1. RHB - The only broker now in Malaysia with Stop loss order, stop order (they call it program trading.)
2. Jupiteronline - Low brokerage fee.
3. M+ Securities (New comer offering very aggressive trading fee.)

0.1% min 8 per order

sell 0.1% min 8 , buy 0.1% min 8

total 0.2% min rm 16

normal lots of stock are increment quantity of 100, like 200, 300, 400

like 679 share quantity is considered odd lots.

679 consisted of 6 normal lots and 79 odd lots share
