it is against the policy to buy the maybank stock. I dunno y, but it is in the policy when u apply for M2U online trading account.

I went to open a trading account last week in maybank and that's what they told me.... that I have to open a cash account if I want to buy maybank stocks. When I asked them why it was so, they told me that you can't use maybank account to buy its own shares....

Anyway, I'm a noob in stocks.... hope to catch the fallen knife on the floor... wishful thinking, I know... laugh.gif

Kinda pissed off with maybank. Went to open a cash account more than 2 weeks ago but still not approved.

Called them today (probably the 5th time) and they said "got some mix up problem".... whatever that means....

Anybody can recommend me any other banks that I can open an online trading account with? However, I would need easy fund transfer (no charge) to that particular account from maybank and HSBC......

First time doing online stock trading so forgive me for the noob questions..... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ordered some stocks through maybank stocks online at 3pm.... guess it went into the buy queue....

Then when I check the status at 5pm, it showed "All matched" at around 3:02pm...... however, I think the transaction hasn't gone through yet....

Can I cancel the order or should I just wait for the "buy order" to go through tomorrow?

And can I actually queue any orders tonight? hmm.gif

This thread dead?

I need to ask a question here... hope someone could answer me,

I've open the trading account n the cds account, so what's next for me to start trading using M2U?

Can i use my funds in savings account to buy the shares?

or do i have to transfer some funds from my savings account to trading account before i can buy shares?
*
Not too sure whether you can use your savings account directly. I'm using M2U and will usually just transfer money from my savings account to the trading account.....

is it every maybank also can open this online trading account?

Nope. You need to go to Maybank's share investment centre. Ask your local maybank branch for more information.

haha...oh i see.
so the funds will only be deducted within 3 working days la?
i am using cash account so can't play contra la.. smile.gif
quite dangerous la for the contra thing.. tongue.gif
*
The funds will be deducted on T+3 which is the settlement date.

Cash account can also contra (contra just means buying and then selling before T+3), and it is no more dangerous than non-contra trading..... both are risky... wink.gif

I wandering anyone know the calculation of the brokering charges here in maybank2u.com.It will be better there is some example of the calculation been done which involve the stamp duty, clearing charge etc for the profit and loss calcultion on the buying and selling shares.

Another question here is whether the money after selling your shares will be deposited into your Premier 1 Account and if yes, can the money in the acc been transfer to another saving account.
*
You can read the guide on this here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1039913

Look at Part 3 : Commissions and brokerage fees.

My examples are based on Maybank's rates. However, they give rebates on the 10th of every month for those who open the accounts after September 2008. I think the promotion ends next month. Not too sure as I didn't ask maybank.

Yes, the money will be deposited into your Premier 1 account after 3 days. In order to transfer money to another account, I only know that you need to go to your maybank's investment centre or alternatively fax a completed form to them to instruct the transfer.

i open a Maybank online stock Cash account, just because it is 0.1% brokerage rate.  Today receive the contract note(buy) and find out that brokerage rate still 0.42% for my recent transaction. Is it anything wrong? Or because i sell the share before payment done?
*
You will get the rebate on the 10th of every month in the form of "Online stock incentive". wink.gif

It is still the same as Maybank extended the "online stock incentive" rebates until March 2010 (if I'm not mistaken, heard it from another forumer).

Does Maybank (MB2u) send you a transaction statement to your house after you purchase a share?
*
Yes, they do send a financial statement to you every month. It also includes details of all your accounts in Maybank too.

QUOTE(William226 @ Jul 13 2010, 11:00 PM)
i am open cast deposit trading account that mean without any Contra T+3.  Regarding to the Maybank promotion with minimum RM8 and 0.1% bokerage fees package, what the meaning of "immediate trading value upon cash deposited  " and "Immediate trade confirmation and online settlement". For example, if i buy 1000 share with RM1 per share, i need to pay RM1000+other fees. After buy the shares, The trading account need how long to updated the balance? Because i am already buy a new share and the balance still maintain and nothing changes. In opposite, if i sell the whole share, normally need how long that money bank in to my trading account and updated the balance? because currently i need the cash in hand....
*
Not too sure about the meaning of the phrases but in terms of trading, whether you buy or sell, the money used/received will only be reflected after T+3.

QUOTE(chinleong @ Aug 6 2010, 08:24 PM)
Guys, is the promotion still valid for Maybank2u online share trading?

Another question, I have been involved in share market for about 5 months, but I'm going for long term investment.

What does it mean by contra T+3? From my understanding, does that means that lets say IF I buy in CIMB at 7.4, after 30 minutes if the counter rise to 9.4 (assume la  biggrin.gif ). I submit my sell queue and I'll earn the profits immediately?

Of course I understand have to take the brokerage fees into consideration, can someone guide me?

Thanks alot
*
Take a look here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1039913

You'll earn the profits but only get the money after T+3.....

AFAIK, the promotion is extended until September 2010.
