Sorry, dumb question. Can we convert Enrich miles into AM? If yes, how? Thanks for advice!
*
No, you can't convert EM into AM. It is a one way traffic but you could use your EM (of course with horrible conversion rates) to redeem OneWorld flights that include Cathay and DragonAir...

Just talked to AM CS, no idea how they came out with such higher surcharge compared to online search,

First segment,
KUL-xHKG-AMS on KA/CX
One way tax/surcharge - HKD 1,500 (MYR 855)
If use AM online search, only HKD 666 (MYR 380)

Second segment,
KEF-xLHR-KUL on BA
One way tax/surcharge - HKD 2,200 (MYR 1,250)
If use BA online search, only HKD 1,843 (MYR 1,058)
If use AM online search, only HKD 1,836 (very close).

KA,CX, and BA are available at AM online, so I did the search for surcharge and availability, before calling to CS, as I am redeeming under OneWorld multi-carriers.

Any trick I am missing? Or the CS actually breaks my same day transit into 2, for example, KUL - HKG, HKG - AMS and KEF-LHR, then LHR-KUL? I tried to clarify with the CS, the CS confirmed there is no "stop-over" charge at LHR (less than 24 hours), and somehow I found that HKG transit is ridiculously high. Could not answer me why the rate is lower on each segment also, argh...not anymore HUCA sad.gif

Yes, possibly they breaks it out. Grab the cheapest before it's gone.

Is it their limitation that OW Multi-carrier cannot do "single ticketing" on one segment?

For example, I tried to break KUL - HKG, then HKG - AMS, but the surcharge is way below the total still.

Hi,

I've just noticed that it's possible to get hilton gold thanks to the visa infinite by making two stays within 90 days. I wanted to know if booking two stays of one night back to back in the same hotel would count as two stays?

Thanks

Newbie here, just to ask which Frequent Flyer program would be the best here ? I observed that Marco Polo Club from Cathay cost you 100USD per year..
How about MAS and AM ? is it FOC ? Anyone can compare the benifits ?
And 1 mores, is AirAsia frequent flyer program link with those ? Like i travel in Malaysia airline then can add those point in.

Is back to back means consecutive nights? If yes, it will only count one-stay. My advice, give one day gap if you stay at same hotel.

A "stay" is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Terms and Conditions

It all depends on your travel pattern, if you could give us more detail then we may suggest a FFP.

1) how many times do you travel a month
2) what cabin class
3) where do you usually fly to

I just booked my flight with Cathay...

Can you help to elaborate the benefits of Marco Polo?

below is my movements..........
average... fly monthly with MAS (KUL to SG)
twice a year with SQ (SG- PVG or SG-PEK)

Just go thru to benefits of Marco Polo, just curious if i still reward with MP point if i already tied my Enrich number with my MAS account on all booking hmm.gif

I don't seen any significant benefit from signing up MP card with ur travel pattern.

Fly monthly KUL-SIN earn you only 120 MP club points, not even for silver status.
SQ is under Star Alliance, u can't use ur MP or Enrich card with them.

U can only choose 1 FFP during check-in, the last point to update ur FFP is at the check-in counter, u can tell the ground staff ur final decision and make sure ur desired FFP is updated in boarding pass.

As herc said, you need to call up but you better have your dates and flight details on hand.

Problem is availability you see using say United or Life Miles DOES NOT translate into availability for SQ.

Flyertalk forum indicates this is due to SQ being stingy in releasing their premium cabins to other *A carriers thus they reciprocate.

Concluding my flight from KUL - HKG - AKL - HKG - KUL soon on CX. No doubt hands down Pier HKG is one of the top lounges in the world (ME3 aside). Just blows others out of the water. Tried Qantas, Koru NZ, both are nicely designed but just cannot compare with Pier.

Sad to say that CX a350 is in bad shape. I had BLR-D and BLR-B on both flight and they show real signs of wear and tear that's not supposed to happen to such a new plane. Noticed that alot of seats have a broken side panel just beside the movable armrest. My seat also had problem with the power plug and control device.

Indeed, I've been to The Pier once and it was one of the best indeed!

As for the A350 J seats, this is a known issue and they already have plan to retrofit those damage seats https://www.ausbt.com.au/cathay-pacific-to-...ess-class-seats

they are only doing the first 3 craft that has the most serious wear and tear. my return flight was with the 4th plane which they are not scheduling any maintenance yet. probably gonna take awhile before they can refit all the damaged seats..

practically have to rip out the whole business class seat and reinstall back new ones... the seats motor also is so loud and jerky...

I would like to redeem my maybank points to book a flight to the UK next February. I have tried putting it through Enrich and the surcharges seem really high. Can anyone advise on any 'cheaper' option to get to the UK? Would Kris Flyer or Asia Miles work out cheaper?

Would really appreciare any thoughts you may have

Krisflyer now does not have surcharge for redemption. however, do check availability.

asiamiles DO start to charge fuel surcharge for some redemptions AFAIK. I do know that UK airport is crazy expensive to fly out from, hence the high surcharge you see on return flights.

what you can do is, do a dummy search on this two award site (register a member) and compare both points and fees before doing the points transfer.

Depends on what u like. CX is good for doing a stopover in hong kong, spend a few days there shopping and eating. Same can be done with SQ.

If this is your first J class redemption, i highly recommend CX so that can enjoy a few days in hong kong, and try out the Pier in hkg airport.
