I am planning the next trip via AMOWMC again. Just wondering do they allow to use stopover as transit? Any sifu can advise?

rough plan which will work, PEN-xHKG-CGO//XIY-oHKG-PEN//KUL-xDOH-oGRU-oEZE-oJFK-HKG-PEN (CX/KA, QR & AA, hate AA as only can redeem economy seat)

but doesn't feel like stop at GRU (like to make it as transit)

In fact DOH-GRU-EZE is direct flight under same flight code QR773, which consist 2 segment, it counts the route as 1 or with transit when come to AMOWMC?
*
Not a sifu but I think QR773 will count as transit. It's five stopovers, two transits and two open jaws IIRC.

How many miles would you like to cover

I had high hopes to book an award ticket KUL-JFK on JL J but just found out that KUL-NRT-JFK exceeds 10k miles one way, which means 175k Asia Miles for a return biz class ticket urgh. KUL-HKG-JFK is only 9,200 miles one way by comparison which caps it at 145k Asia Miles...

Go for it! Other than the lounges in HKG, CX J can get a bit monotonous.

KUL-NRT-KUL now are mostly 787-9 with the excellent Skysuites, coupled with the excellent BEDD Catering out of NRT!!

Or If you're nutcase like me, get a cheap KUL-BKK flight do BKK-NRT-JFK should save you a few miles. CX Lounge there is excellent !

T-9. Here's what's coming.

The routing: KCH-SIN-BOM-DEL-DOH-BKK-KUL-KCH

The cabins:
MH J
SQ Suites
UK J (really looking forward to trying out Vistara)
QR J (787 Dreamliner)
QR F (is it good enough to warrant BKK-DOH-CDG?)

The lounges:
KCH MH Golden Lounge
SIN The Private Room
BOM GVK Lounge
DEL (Skipping)
DOH Al Safwa
BKK CX Lounge

I'll try to take more pictures and do a more in-depth review this time.
*
QR J! Looking forward to my trip in January. I've only got Al Mourjan though not Al Safwa sad.gif

CX BKK Lounge is pretty neat, yummy pad thai. But gets a tad too crowded

Can easily get access to Al Safwa by including a regional "First Class" ticket in your itinerary.

Cool, will be sure to try the pad thai. We're arriving early in the morning around 7AM so hopefully it won't be too crowded then. BKK was a stopover that turned into a layover so I've got around 4 hours to kill at BKK.
*
Yeah, dropping by in CAI next June. Just to try Al Safwa, i hope the country doesn't collapses by then. Meanwhile Al Mourjan will do. Took MH785 a few weeks back, the lounge gets very very crowded after 9am, it's hard to even get a seat at the lounge area. Plenty of seats at the noodle bar. Breakfast menu is a bit meh, pad thai comes after 11am IIRC. Then again it's the best OW lounge in BKK, Sakura is a bit dated.

Yet to tick Egypt off the list. Should have done it some time ago. How long will you be there for?

Re CX Lounge: thanks for the heads-up buddy, will make sure I get to the lounge earlier then.
*
Just 3 nights in CAI. Am just worried about the political status there again. Doesn't look good recently

I see. Same problem here. Pollution in New Delhi has skyrocketed. It's the most polluted city on earth right now.

We backed out of an Egypt to Israel "pilgrimage" tour (backdoor way for Malaysian atheists like myself to visit Jerusalem) many years back. Should have done it in hindsight when tourism was still vibrant there.
*
My friend was in CAI a few months back, the tour guide said a trip across the border can be done for a 'fee'. Anyways the Egyptian pound just suffered a massive devaluation, hopefully things settle down next year.

This is a good one for ex-Asia flights too because it seems to allow infra-Asia with a stopover even on one way flight. The value proposition is insane. Looking deeper into it.

It's gonna be super hard to snatch those award seats now!

For CX First, are the redemption points same if we redeem via Asia Miles or OneWorld? I understand that if we book through Asia Miles, we can do it online whereas for OneWorld we have to call in right?
*
Can redeem straight out of AsiaMiles online. Don't know what you mean by oneworld though.

one world is an affiliate loyalty for quite a few airlines la
*
I know, but there is no blanket 'ONEWORLD REDEMPTION' term per se. Asiamiles has Oneworld Multicarrier Award ticket (is this what he meant?) that requires you calling CS to book your ticket. That requires 2 carriers at least one being CX.

For instance, BAEC is a oneworld partner and partner redemptions using Avios can be done online. AA is also a oneworld partner and partner redemptions on AAvdvantage can be also done online. If he could be more specific, we can help him out better.

Newbie here, just to ask which Frequent Flyer program would be the best here ? I observed that Marco Polo Club from Cathay cost you 100USD per year..
How about MAS and AM ? is it FOC ? Anyone can compare the benifits ?
And 1 mores, is AirAsia frequent flyer program link with those ? Like i travel in Malaysia airline then can add those point in.
*
It all depends on your travel pattern, if you could give us more detail then we may suggest a FFP.

1) how many times do you travel a month
2) what cabin class
3) where do you usually fly to

SPG is having year end promo at 35% off. Came to learn this through a sales listing in Shopee, fair price without the need to pay for currency exchange. Interested SPG or Marriott loyalists may wish to take a look.

My first time on sq j and I managed to snag the middle seats in row 11 on their new a380

No issue with tight legroom here but unfortunately the other seats leaves a lot to be desired. While it looks sleek the legroom is unfortunately poor

Why would it be too young? Miles are meant to be spent. I happily pay 208k KF per pax/way, kid sleep with mum, I sleep own bed, makan another seat, since we were the only ones in the whole cabin.

Anyone know how to get oneworld emerald (first class perks) and star alliance gold ( extra 20kg).. I usually fly business class on rewards ticket AM/Krisflyer
*
Status typically comes from revenue tickets.

Luggage allowance is typically good enough on J tickets I don’t see why you need extra allowance unless you pack your whole village in your suitcase. But to answer your question reward tickets do not add up to miles accrual in ffps
