Im back! AMOMC 1st section done ...

summary..
CX Lounge in KLIA = so so
CX in-flight meal = great
CX The Wing Biz Lounge in HK = great, but noodle need long Q
PEK MH ground staff service = terrible! Counter only open 3hrs before flight (out-source). 2 counter for Biz, me n mi'lady in different Q see which 1 faster, end up faster 1 took us 45mins to clear. Long Q again at immigration, end up our advance time all gone in Q.
BGS Premier Lounge at PEK = so so (same standard as CX KLIA Lounge)
MH in-fight meal = so so (if u compare to CX menu, its nothing at all)
Flight Club at KLIA = food presentation nice, taste normal, cozy place, we got the most left corner which is a sofa seat, quiet, comfortable and nice view on the tarmac. Oh, can hop back to PPL for shower n whatsover, the 3hr access is shared

PEK MH Biz counter also long queue? why?
you use MH ticket to enter BGS? did you try Air China lounge?
*
Inexperience staff I guess, took so long for each counter to clear 1 passenger.

Economy counter move way faster.

Nope, I use PriorityPass.

Didnt try, I chose the nearest lounge, PEK T3 gates is very far between each other, short of time and I just wanna grab some drinks

I will fly PEK again next month, hopefully this long queue thing won't happen.

Last time i use my Citibank premier miles to enter BGS
I read alot of good review about airchina and bgs lounge, maybe that was day time where they prepared more food.

maybe, when I was there, it's midnight already, just few kitten hanging around laugh.gif

Haha, maybe I should go all out and do KUL-SYD-AUH-JFK. 28 hours in Etihad Apartments but that's getting a bit ridiculous biggrin.gif

Have to calculate my available miles again...
*
Another issue for u to consider ... there is no turning back.

After Apartments, just imagine u fly long haul with economy class. That's happen on me, coz my wife ask me, "how do i fly on eco class anymore?" doh.gif

Just got off the phone with MBB rep. In short: has to be Amex Platinum Charge or Credit card.
Must be AMEX plat? Gold or Normal charge card cannot?

an update for my AMOWMC ticket, consist of CX, MH, BA, IB, QR

we can actually use QR to manage the seat selection on MH (IB too), where I found out most of the nice seat has been taken up in the A380 sad.gif instead of wait til 48hrs before flight

Hola! Just back from holiday, 21 days biggrin.gif

Completed 2nd part of OWMCA ticket.

KUL-LHR, MH = agreed, on chef-on-call is ok, A380 still as good, MH golden lounge good too
LHR-LIS, BA = pathetic business class, as it use old A320, economy seat but block the middle seat and claim as business, BA business lounge good
LIS-MAD, IB = good, Blue Lounge with snack only, so so
BCN-DOH-KUL, QR = QR service is incredible! Sala Miro Lounge Bacelona with pastries, snack and instant noodle cup. Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge, i think the size is twice bigger than MH Golden Lounge, seating very comfortable, shower room very nice and with smoking room inside a lounge LOL, but with less food choice

21-day holiday sounds amazing biggrin.gif I had that last in 2013, haven't had anything longer than 2 weeks the past few years.

Was at the Al Mourjan Business Lounge last year, very big with hypnotic water features. I liked the made to order sandwiches, lots of food options upstairs too no? The lounge is huge and very airy, lots of space. The only thing missing is the free massage, this is where Etihad's lounge trumps Qatar.
*
I had too much bread in past weeks so sandwich is to skip.. so far to walk from sandwich bar to the upstair restaurant ... it was 6am local time during my visit, alot ppl mostly from transit I guess, food choices are merely basic breakfast and made to order omelette.

the water pool is almost Olympic size swimming pool... crazy

I say very difficult. Have been scouting SIN-AKL for some time last year and it's very hard to get. If possible get one confirmed in suites, one confirmed in business, upgrade if/when suites open up. Same thing with me in 2014, had confirmed IAH-SIN and one waitlist JFK-SIN in first, JFK never cleared so I took the IAH-SIN.

Unfortunately the J seat is not available in saver, only in standard which cost more than F saver sad.gif

KUL-oKIX(MH)-oHKG(CX)*-oAMS(CX)-oHKG(CX)**-oJFK(CX)-EZE(AA)//MVD(2hr ferry)-GRU(JJ)//GIG(7hr bus)-xJFK-xHKG-KUL

raist86, Moving the discussion here....

I tried the online thingy on Asia Milles. Cannot redeem JAL directly. Once I keyed in the destination, this came out

[attachmentid=6184520]

AM online redemption only will show CX/KA, BA, QR, QF and Finnair.

To redeem JAL, u need to call AM

My objective is to fly business. I am using the maybank 2 premier card to gain my miles
actually i am quite committed to MH but i read about some folks saying kris flyer or Asia miles has better benefits and MH doesn't have much destination
*
still very general hah.

if u commit to MH, then next to decide is where u wanna fly, with the OneWorld alliance, u can basically fly to anywhere. MH is very generous on seat availability for MH itself, but not sure with OW.

Even though MH does not fly to many non-Asia destinations, its seats availability is very generous as mentioned by herc. I used Asia Miles to apply for OW tickets, seats in CX and QR are so limited compare to MH. I bet SQ award availability is not excellent too, esp J and F class.
*
QR is ok for its seat availability on J, just that the YQ is killing (anyhow it's cost is close to MH)
CX n SQ .. stingy

LHR-Milan under BA Club Europe, it's 3 seating but middle seat was blocked by a tray. Google it and u know what it is, happen on me during LHR-LIS, feel like conned, big downside.
