If anyone is looking to buy the 65ue630x, it’s available at Homedec expo at KL Convention Center for RM5640 inclusive of 5 years extended warranty, free wireless kb and mouse and free wall bracket. Installation of the wall bracket is quite expensive at RM250 though.

the tv has been v good for me.

maybe becos i know androids for some time now, i can get it to work well.

the most difficult app was astrogo, but got it working fine in the end (steps already posted).

the other challenge will be 4k HDR10 input - comes out too dark.

need to tweak both box player and TV to get it right.

i had thought the tv is lacking for that since it is not HDR rated but, after reading below, it seems like a "universal" problem for now:

Try a different hdmi cable, diff hdmi slot.

But, yes... get new box, new sources.... 2160p videos will come out very well.

1. just exit, it will close by default.
vlc is problematic for that, imo.
better u use terrarium's default exo player or MX player.

2. free apps like terrarium has no guarantee it will work 100%.
this lagging thingy is something u will see again and again, esp in free apps.
causes can be country geo restriction, local isp restriction, heavy traffiic, "buy vpn, u must pay", or simply bad source.
remember any source has a owner, need maintenance; free stuff is seldom maintained well for long.

3. i think u can; it just takes u back to esf app itself and do its thing.
but i don't see any advantage compared to using esf direct.

1. I mean just use the arrow left button to exit all the way.
I do not use vlc on the tv, not sure of the details.
Mx player is good for most simple apps.
Terrarium, use its exo player to have most benefits.

Logitech K400 wireless works well with this TV.
I'm using this kb when I used Kodi a lot in the beginning.
But nowadays I tend to watch 4K Netflix, youtube or downloaded medias over Kodi

That's normal regardless of res...Those black bars are due to the aspect ratio the TV show or movie was filmed in - seeing them means the title was filmed in an aspect ratio that isn't a perfect fit for your screen. It'll appear on some big, others smaller and rest full-screen image. So just relax and enjoy the content.

When i first played such a video, they come out too dark, no good.

Then, i read it has to do with the bluray discs or file makers.

I think they have come around.

The latest 2160p hdr10 bdmv videos come out great on the ue630x.

Pretty stunning actually... clarity, colors, depth...

And i mean 60-90 gb files. With a good player, of course.

Newer model ua6800x probably does a better job with hdr videos, but ue630x can deliever good too! 

There will be no more updates as tv is >5 years old.

Utube good, pq is good.

Has anyone compared between the Sony X80J and Samsung AU8000 at the 75 inch range?

Having a tough time choosing between the two and prices seem to be quite similar recently.

Also, any thoughts around AU7700 would be great too!
