Can existing customer request TM for upgrade equipment if the old 1 doesn't provide the full performance from 30mbps ?

Yes RM 179 in UniFi 30 include a RM 30 HyppTV package either Aneka or Varnam.

no if u only do an upgrade.a new one if it is a new install.

No advance payment or installation fees but CS told me there's additional fees for new registration but i forgot what it was. It should reflect in the new bill. Basically u do not need to pay anything up front.

Hello, so just recently was upgraded to Unifi 50mbs but when using wifi the download speed would be 26-28mbs and while using LAN cable it would be at 50+ mbs.. does anyone know what could be causing the problem?

btw still using the default router that tm gives from years ago when first install..

Below is a breakdown of actual real-life average speeds you can expect from wireless routers within a reasonable distance, with low interference and small number of simultaneous clients:

802.11b - 2-3 Mbps downstream, up to 5-6 Mbps with some vendor-specific extensions.

802.11g - ~20 Mbps downstream

802.11n - 30-50 Mbps typical, varying greatly depending on configuration, whether it is mixed or N-only network, the number of bonded channels, etc. Specifying a channel, and using 40MHz channels can help achieve 70-80Mbps with some newer routers. Up to 100 Mbps achievable with more expensive commercial equipment with 8x8 arrays, gigabit ports, etc.

802.11ac - 70-100+ Mbps typical, higher speeds possible over short distances without many obstacles, with newer generation 802.11ac routers, and client adapters capable of multiple streams.

For 30Mb/s can confirm get full speed but will depend on how far you're from router if using wifi and your wifi card etc etc

They will do the upgrade but they'll charge you for the router replacement

It is basic (1 month current + 1 month advance)

Better apply through agent as they (me) provide one month cash rebate so the total is 1 month only

Just got called from TM , upgraded the second time in 2 years LOL , VIP 5 --> VIP 10 --> now to Unifi Advance 30 . (contract renewed to 24 months)

- 30mbps down , 5mbps up
- Free call (600min to all network, TM to TM always free)
- Free HyppTV aneka package (some Malaysian/Malay channel)
- Free HyppTV Everywhere for 2 devices
- Free TM WiFi 500mb quota daily

Quite happy with the value it packed now , among all competitor in Malaysia , however it's definitely not a cheap plan , hope to get kinda full stable speed then really thumbs up to TM .

Near to router - Speedtest show ard 28Mbps
Wifi with 3 bar signal - Ard 15Mbps
Wifi with 2 bar signal - Ard 6 to 7 Mbps

Will upgrading to another router help?

so u got Voice STD RM 20 Free.Nice.but only TM Sales can give this to customer not reseller or TMPoint.

I am kinda fake ha-ha , at first no one call me . I called CS (1300...) and tell them someone from TM called me about package upgrade but I was not available for call back then . Then CS told me they will get Sales Team call me again . Waited 3-4 working days , today just received call and all going smooth . the person in charge told me everything in details and keep asking me am I understood with the terms . quite helpful and informative .

login ID is ur unifi ID, login to OCC unifi -> change service password -> set new password at TM WIFI

TM is no philanthropist and they will charge you if you ask for a new device (BTU is the exception). Also, their router is pretty shitty so better fork out some cash and buy a new one, brand like TPLink would suffice and if you have extra budget go for Asus.

besides router is new & updated, what else is new? the cordless phone is still from panasonic? what about the btu and stb? the old stb pretty sucks though, i'm looking for the latest which i heard is android based?

its not about symmetrical or asymmetrical tech.. actually both UniFi access technology (FTTH PON and VDSL) are asymmetrical tech. its how TM design the offering. Previously symmetric.. but now, they follow others ISP around the world that give asymmetrical for consumer broadband..

The key differences are it is faster, can install apps directly from google play store, can install kodi etc can watch youtube
