My friend had an outage few days ago, broken fiber from DP
Just now Maxis called him to check on his issue, and they're offering him RM159 1Gbps despite he is a user of both fiber and postpaid

Actually, no. Current provider will not auto bill. They will call customer to pay remaining month bill penalty at Maxis Centre. If no payment receive. TR will auto reject. And, you will continue using Maxis as usual. Just like MNP. No payment receive for remaining balance. Auto reject port out. Just like what he say. Just switch to other provider. Get TR number. Wait Maxis call. If you don't pay penalty. TR will be reject within 7~10 days. If got 8 month left. Just do it. Penalty less than RM1k. But no payment receive. Maxis will just reject offer. Anyone wanna do it? Bcoz im also Maxis Fibre 30mbps user with 12 month left contract. Should have just wait in October 2023. Dunno Maxis will gip RM89 price for 100mbps. Despite only for 24 month. Meanwhile, retention offer will get permanent price cut RM10 with free bill. Idk, someone wanna do it. Bcoz i like to know too..

EDIT: I just get agent tell me. If current provider did not call their existing customer to offer within 4 days. TM will auto approve TR. Looks like there is new change. In TM HSBA portal. TR is update since 28 June. But, no details that i can see. I edit here if yall brave enough to do it. Maybe wait little bit by 4~5 month. And, pay RM500 penalty is better. Or, Maxis will call to give candy.

Finally got mine installed on 8th July. The whole process took around 3 weeks. Paired the skyworth onu with my Asus tuf ax4200 router and cloudfare dns.
VPN, torrent, IPTV all works

Does Maxis Kaon AR2140 wifi signal is bad?? I'm installed Wifi camera on my place when it's nearby no issue. When it's outdoor camera it's been sluggish keep getting prompt that wifi connection is weak in all camera...

I'm planning to get Asus router, my doubt is I got 4G dongle to use incase fibre down so can I use dongle on Asus router incase fibre down as back up?
Also about VoIP for Maxis

The 4G dongle only works with Maxis own router. For VoIP to work you also need to use the Maxis router. Can try ask in this topic:

VoIP, you can reuse old kaon as just a phone adapter if you disable the internet interface and bridge the voip vlan out from the asus
or, see thread linked above

as for 4g, you must set the hostname of your asus router (in LAN section) to Maxis_Archer_C5v to trick the dongle into thinking it's connected to the maxis router
(the kaon and the other routers maxis gives all identify themselves as that to the dongle)

I did Transfer to TM. Within 3 days, 123 call me & ask why transfer to unifi bcoz im still left 12 month contract. Then, i say honestly bcoz TM gip RM89 for 100Mbps with free 6 month bill. Maxis CS say how long contract from TM. I say 3 year. Then, she offer me Maxis Home Fibre 100Mbps with RM89. Price is fixed discount for RM10 as long im stay with this package. She also can offer me RM129 for 300Mbps. But, i reject. No free bill bcoz still got contract. Will try get this retention offer with free bill when contract finish. But as usual, my place get speed capped from TM disgusting practice for other ISP. Get around 93Mbps most of time. Still ok as TM nut will lag at night. Everything is super smooth with Maxis network. Website loads instantly than TM.
