Hi guys, I will be subscribing to Maxis Fibre soon for RM 129 - 300Mbps (24 months promo). I was torn between Celcom and Maxis until I was informed about Maxis promo, so I have decided on Maxis and pray hard TIME will not come to my condo in 2 years time. tongue.gif

Is there any issue for following items? I saw mixed feedback on this thread.

i) YouTube
ii) Throttled speed at night
iii) IoT stuff
iv) China sites/apps
v) Technical support
*
Hi frutie.. can found you everywhere.. I Also thinking to change, also from unifi.. Where you get the 129 for 300Mbps? so for now, got a few choice..

1. Free 6 month (coming from unifi). Dunno 24m or 36m contract.
2. Website deal 149 + 9 (ipad 9th gen)
3. 129 * 24m

All for 300Mbps. Currently paying 139 for unifi 300.

I think the phone port called RJ 11.

I used Kaon for wifi 6 + phone temporarily. But need for uplink device to be able to carry both vlan 822 + lan (i used untag) to Kaon wan port.

The rule is to leave the eInternet alone. Create new interface (I call Home), bridge untag traffic n require lan port & wifi interface you need. I left original eInternet to 1 port (for kaon config interface). Other goes to Home interface.

if you change bridge at eInternet interface than the whole router will change to bridge mode. Which disable the phone.

I try to minimize the unnecessary and loop hole, that is why i tend to promote the AX73 as main and the rest as secondary. I've not yet try the one daisy chain to use LAN4 (VOIP VLAN PORT) and connect to KAON (Without Router *original setting* ) then use the RJ11 to connect phone. This I need to try out.
*
I think this will work.. Connect Kaon WAN port to AX73 voip port and try. If not.. try to change wan > voice interface from tag to untag. Then try again.

I once bought 1st gigabit homeplug from aztech. Speed only 100mbps even on the same powerstrip next to each other. This is 10 years ago. I remember it's rated aboput 600mbps.

Can try to test same powerstrip n see how the performance.

hi all. just got my maxis fiber 300mbps. living in a double storey and doubt current maxis router lg8245x6 can support whole house.

told by installer this new router easymesh certified. so offer me another maxis router if want to expand.

My question, is there other router that is easymesh certified and can work with this maxis router? Some router seller tell me if on voip then cant use. have to get back from maxis.

i think i am on voip, but the maxis installer didnt give me a dect phone also.

installed yesterday and can see on maxis website connection is active. or do i have to wait abit longer for my account to appear on their system?
*
Maxis do come with voip land line but they give you DECT phone only if you take RM10/month unlimited call. You can just connect any wired/cordless phone if wanna use the phone line.

Since my own router does not come with VLAN tagging feature, I have a switch that does the work.
I have tried the below setup before, but the phone doesn't came up working.

ONT -> Switch -> (Port 2 with VLAN 621) -> Own router
-> (Port 4 with VLAN 822) -> Maxis Stock router  -> (phone 1) -> Landline phone  (couldn't get it to work)
Do we need to care about the VLAN 822 for VOIP at all?
*
For Port 4 just bridge with ONT. No need to define vlan.. Mean send tagged packet.

i believe this is Maxis own infra, located at Four Seasons, this is a business line..currently having this setup MAXIS ONU -> MAXIS ROUTER -> WATCHGUARD FIREWALL, recently the connection seems just down like that until reset of both ONU and Router, not sure what the issue, would like to get rid and just MAXIS ONU - > WATCHGUARD, , i believe ONU is HGH8240H with VOIP port but unsure why the VOP was tagged to the router instead(cant remember what model, black color one), possible to have the VOIP on the main ONU with bridge mode connect with my watchguard
*
Another alternative will be ONU > Own Router > Maxis router (for voip). But need router with flexible config, like mikrotik.

mine now on last run 4 more month to finish my contract coz renew it when buy laptop zerolution.
didn't know back then if buy zerolution.. ur contract will extend doh.gif
*
Are you sure? Fibre contract extend or zerolution contract is tied with the fiber? If we terminate zerolution early the fiber contract should follow it's own duration?

Fibre's T&C listed order of priority when there is Zerolution tied to Fibre.

user posted image

If the objective is to terminate Fibre,
the Home Zerolution must be terminated first.
That implies penalty fee FOR TERMINATING THE HOME ZEROLUTION.

Now, as far as the underlying fibre itself, there isn't explicit mention.
But in own opinion,
• if there is a fibre (re)contract PRIOR to adding (the now terminated) Home Zerolution contract, AND the end date of that (re)contract haven't expired, then penalty fee for terminating fibre is in play.
• if there was no contract prior to adding (the now terminated) Home Zerolution contract, then there is no penalty fee for terminating fibre.
*
Understand the zerolution need to terminate first. But the fee for terminating is acceptable since it's like pro-rate back RRP for remaining period. Not like fiber where the fee in like the same if you continue to use it.

Not really sure what you mean after that.

Lets said I have fiber contract (before zerolution) end Jan 2024. Then mid contract, I took zerolution. Let's said will finish Jan 2025.

In Feb 2024, if I terminating zerolution and pay all the fee. Should the fiber contract consider end?

Different contract. To cover modem cost maybe.. Need mobile line also. If you add after 1 year installing fiber than it's a problem to terminate. If not then cover already while finishing fiber contract.

My billing is ok. Start with RM149 for 300mbps.. Upgrade to 500, bill become RM159 for 500 with 10 rebate. So same price as before.

BTW, I just complete Transfer Request to Unifi. Just wanna add, you can ask to downgrade to you original speed with new price. But it's just -10 for 500 to 300mbps (with new pricing). This one without any contract renew.

So continue with TR since got 3 month rebate for 100Mbps package. Need to call Maxis to approve TR request. They do offer same package if I stay with Maxis. But I disagree since I believe Maxis is so slow while implement changes. 1st the 5g need to wait almost 2 year while other ISP more quick adopt it (my main number tied to fibre plan also). Free upgrade quite acceptable for me but they should give more choice for user.

Anyway, going back to Unifi this tuesday. hopefully all smooth.. after 2 year we see how again.. what better package that time.
