I was thinking to complain, but I think I will complain after I withdraw my FD first, because
I am worried she might take revenge to sabotage me since my money is still there.

If I complain, I will call the branch manager first, then fax an official complain letter to
AM Bank HQ (maybe to HR department), and cc a copy to the branch manager in Sri Petaling
and also OUG branch.

The most pissed me off was that the Am Bank RM mentioned twice to ask me to keep my money at home...  mad.gif
Why she mentioned twice I think because she wanted to make sure I heard what she said..?

This RM is lucky this time, because my doctor asked to cool down since I got a high blood
pressure..

Last time, when I complained a RM from OCBC, the male branch manager asked me to fax the complain letter to his room, but I said I wanted to fax the letter to OCBC public fax machine,
I knew that the branch manager wanted to cover/protect the RM without letting other staffs know
about my complaint.

You are free to complain, that is your right.. but it is a hassle by itself.

If you don't like their attitude, rates or even their face, take your money elsewhere, it is your right as a customer and you are free to choose.

Its as easy as that, rather than giving yourself an heartache.

BTW, Indonesia bank is much much more polite than Malaysian banks .. that is something for MY banks need to learn.. wink.gif

Enter bank, guard says welcome, exit bank, guard says thank you to every one.. at counter they are polite and really service with a smile.. always. laugh.gif

If I am in your position, this is what I will do.

I will send an email to Bank Negara inquiring on whether they condone the branch's action of disallowing chop/cross on photocopy of IC, as the main point.

I will also include the conversation with the RM as a secondary point. If I am in the mood to be evil, I will add that this is highly suspicious.

Just talked to SCB RM:

They have new FD promo for:

Conventional FD:
9 mths 4.25%
15 mths 4.5%

Conditions are single placement only, cannot split into multiple FD certs, min 5k to 1mil max. But I guess can get approval if needed. Until 31/3 or max 600 mil.

Islamic FD 15 mth 4.5% promo for existing customer OK (fresh fund only) but need approval. Also need to wait for cheque to clear before effective. So might as well go for the conventional one.

oh good, just in time for me tongue.gif thot of going to their saadiq branch for the islamic one. This means they did not meet quota the last round ending 28/2?? Or is this only for priority customer?

About HSBC 5% FD for 3 months.
If joint account with wife, then can place max RM 90K in 3 accounts, for examples:
1st account: Put RM 30K in own account under own single name
2nd account: Put RM 30K in wife account under her single name
3rd account: Put RM 30K in joint account with wife
*
So the 30k is to becoming HSBC Advance as well ? hmm.gif

I made photostat copy of my check before I submitted it to KWSP, this is for in case if
income tax comes to me, then I can recall and explain the source of money based on the check,
I also stapled the photocopy of the check together with the SCB withdrawal form, so I have the
full information of the source of money.

Sorry, I did not make it clear, I do not have any FD account in BR Nilai branch lah..
My friend told me about this when he helped his daughter to open a FD account in Nilai branch
couple years ago.

AM Signature outlet..? Is this inside Am Bank?

I think everybody will agree with me that the most polite bank in Malaysia is Bank Rakyat.

KWSP is not a bank, but they are more polite and more professional than Bank Rakyat..
*
Is ok, my bad too..

As far as I know, there are 2 AM Signature banks in Klang Valley, one is in TTDI & the other in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng but I cannot say anything about the service at the TTDI branch as everyone seemed to have changed since they first started AM Signature.

In terms of service, I am quite used to the SS2 branch as some of the senior staff & branch manager know me through the years.

Instead of doing this 12 times in MBB, do it once in PBB. MBB claimed that each transaction max is 5k (when I used cheque). PBB wise no such limit. So if PBB is convenient for u, use PBB one time will do.  biggrin.gif
*
If I remember correctly I deposited rm50k cash thru MBB OTC in one transaction last april. Amount reflected the next day. I once bank in by cheque at EPF's branch and it took > 1 week to reflect in my account.

I was referring to some forumers saying that cash to EPF in MBB has to be max 5k per transaction. So if MBB can accept 50k or 60k at one go is even better.

2 years ago MBB branch in Penang showed me some regulation that can only bank in max 5k per transaction. Ended I have to do 12 transaction using cheque on the single day ! shakehead.gif mad.gif

So if MBB has fixed this issue, that is good. biggrin.gif

But I would not use MBB again as last year PBB transaction was pretty smooth using cheque. rclxms.gif

Just to clarify the EPF self contribution thingy:-

1. Maybank2u sets a RM5K limit per transaction, not daily limit as I initially thought, and as rightly pointed out by diablo2, we can transact 12 times for each RM5K, on the very same day, to achieve the RM60K limit:-

QUOTE(diablo2 @ Feb 24 2015, 04:52 PM)
Just use Maybank2u. The transaction limit is RM5K each but there is no daily limit. Just repeat the transaction 12 times and you will have yr RM60K self contribution done on the same day, no need to go personally to EPF, no need to issue cheque and no GIRO fees either  thumbup.gif
2. MBB cheques of more then RM5K can now be made to EPF - I've done this last year.

3. EPF has set a RM5K daily limit for cash deposited OTC. However the m2u RM5K x 12 times can easily override this!

4. For both cash & m2u deposits, the EPF "clearance" date is the next working/banking day. However a cheque payment to EPF will take 7 working days to "clear".

5. It has been established that the dividend for any deposit made during the month starts on the very last day of that month, provided the next/7 working days "clearance" is within that month.

So after the maximum RM60K EPF self-contribution, it's now onto SSPN (or PTPTN) max dep of RM6K, mainly for the tax relief but the 4+% interest does help too... smile.gif

after reading all the posts about EPF thingy, I wonder if we can deposit just before the distribution and get the benefits? and can we withdraw the money out, full sum or partially?

Thanks for the info, could you elaborate on the procedures for the SSPN 6K deposit to get 4+% interest?

Here's the link = http://www.ptptn.gov.my/web/english/savings/gen-info

Basically, as a parent, you can open a sspn a/c in your child's name and get a tax relief of RM6K till 2017.

For 2013, the interest was 4.25%. Have to wait for the 2014 interest announcement, probably in Apr 2015, & hopefully it's still in the 4%+ range.

Next time, just complain to BNM by email. Once u log in ur complaint in BNM, very soon the bank's customer service will call u and solve ur problem.

Few months ago, I had an argument with AM Bank Sri Petaling branch when they did not allow me to put a chop/cross on my IC when placing my FD, the Chinese female RM (not a leng lui) said like this to me twice: "Mr. Boom, if you worry this and worry that, why don't you keep your money in your house?" This is the rudest RM I have ever encountered...!
*
BoomCC, my Ambank RM (representing Sri Petaling BR) lenglui wor. Big eyes, tiny waist and big ****s. Maybe they randomly fix RM for branches. Anyway, so far mine is OK. Polite and professional. But no bloody way I am going back to Sri Petaling branch cos the service there sucks big time. Only consolation is you can withdraw Ambank FD at ANY Ambank branches provided your thumbprint can be read, plus they have Sunday banking at Times Sq

BTW, can anyone who got the Ambank umbrella post a pix here ? Thanks in advance. smile.gif
