Last time I asked for a favor from Double Magic to compile all FD info on Excel, but
no news from him at all.. Don't know if he is in the middle of doing it? Or he does not
want to do it..?

The only negative side I can notice is that HSBC needs 2 days to clear the check, this means we will lose 2 days interest.
Unless if we bring cash then can get the FD effective on the same day, who dares to bring cash..?

Ah Goat Sir, monthly interest is for 50 years old and above..
For below 50 years old, they can get semi yearly interest.

RHB branch manager also said the same thing..

Please calculate the effective rate of the loan 3.99% first.

For example like car loan, the effective rate of 2.9% loan rate actually is 5.22% (2.9% x 1.8)

Bank will not offer any effective loan rate lower than FD rate; otherwise bank how to make money..?

Bank Call centres usually do not have update FD info, but I think this excepts OCBC call cantre.

They gave me only one Eu Yang Sang Chicken Essence and few Ang Pao packs (empty inside ):
Somemore, I was requested to go to BR branch to pick these up, BR did not provide courier delivery just like Ringgit Plus..

I called to Eu Yan Sang, they said retail price was RM 60 for 8 bottles pack.

Last time, one BR branch officer told me one of their their top FDs was RM 40K..

I think this is normal.
Malaysian FDs are aiming for Chinese & Indian market.
Bumi do not need FD because they have better options....

Ah Sir Ah Goat & Double Magic, I just called to KWSP, the operator (quite friendly) said:
if submit check to self contribution account, it will take within 7 days to clear the check,
and if submit cash, it will take within 3 days to "clear" the cash.

Double Magic is right, we will get 1 day interest for the month that we submit payment,
then next month will get full month interest.

I heard Bumi saving account in post office can get more than 7% p.a.

A bank manager told me, bumi can make free money, get personal loan at 5% rate from
bank to buy government bond to earn 9%, net profit 4%.
But this process will take about 10 to 15 years to receive the profit, but it is still free money..

I just submitted my check via counter in Jalan Gasing branch yesterday.
Hopefully the check can be cleared before the end of this month.

The branch is Nilai branch.

Few months ago, I had an argument with AM Bank Sri Petaling branch when they did not allow me to put a chop/cross on my IC when placing my FD, the Chinese female RM (not a leng lui) said like this to me twice: "Mr. Boom, if you worry this and worry that, why don't you keep your money in your house?" This is the rudest RM I have ever encountered...!

Later, I found out Am Bank OUG branch is also under this female RM administration. So next time, I will not place my FD in Sri Petaling branch and OUG branch. And I was thinking to complain about this female RM to HQ.

Ah Sir, I went to SCB to ask about Islamic 4.5% FD for 15 months.

According to SCB, this can be done for existing customers who have placed FDs with SCB,
but SCB will need a few minutes to get approval from the HQ, usually HQ will approve it.
So, this is not the issue for existing customers.


About HSBC 5% FD for 3 months.
If joint account with wife, then can place max RM 90K in 3 accounts, for examples:
1st account: Put RM 30K in own account under own single name
2nd account: Put RM 30K in wife account under her single name
3rd account: Put RM 30K in joint account with wife

Ya loh, but this is the best option I have because my SCB 4% saving account promo will
end on this month end, so I'd better to transfer the fund from SCB saving to EPF; I just take
a gamble that the check will clear by Friday? But based on you mentioned, I think the harapan
to get the check cleared by this Friday is kurang cemerlang..

I was there at around 3.00 pm, it was so hard to find parking inside KWSP; so I parked my
car outside behind of KWSP.

I made photostat copy of my check before I submitted it to KWSP, this is for in case if
income tax comes to me, then I can recall and explain the source of money based on the check,
I also stapled the photocopy of the check together with the SCB withdrawal form, so I have the
full information of the source of money.

I am an old guy lah..

I will go for this Conventional FD for 15 months.. A good timing for me..

I was thinking to complain, but I think I will complain after I withdraw my FD first, because
I am worried she might take revenge to sabotage me since my money is still there.

If I complain, I will call the branch manager first, then fax an official complain letter to
AM Bank HQ (maybe to HR department), and cc a copy to the branch manager in Sri Petaling
and also OUG branch.

The most pissed me off was that the Am Bank RM mentioned twice to ask me to keep my money at home...
Why she mentioned twice I think because she wanted to make sure I heard what she said..?

This RM is lucky this time, because my doctor asked to cool down since I got a high blood
pressure..

Last time, when I complained a RM from OCBC, the male branch manager asked me to fax the complain letter to his room, but I said I wanted to fax the letter to OCBC public fax machine,
I knew that the branch manager wanted to cover/protect the RM without letting other staffs know
about my complaint.

My friend told me about this when he helped his daughter to open a FD account in Nilai branch
couple years ago.

RM 30K is the max amount we can place for each FD account for this FD promo

2 bad things about this HSBC FD promo:
(1) FD will only be effective when the check is cleared; unless bring cash, then FD will effective on the same day.

(2) Only can withdraw one day after the FD maturity day.

Better to get a rain coat and umbrella ready in case if a thunder storm coming

By the way, when you signed up your Am Bank Priority account, did your RM allow you to put
a chop/cross on your photostat IC?

Am Bank Sri Petaling at first did not allow me to do it, they said if put a chop/cross on photostat IC, Am Bank Priority Department will not approve the priority account. That's why we had an argument for this issue. Then the RM asked me to keep my money at home...

Good idea, I think I will put it on the complaint letter by stating that I will complain to Bank Negara because Am Bank does not allow customer to put chop/cross on the photostat IC. Thanks
