Get my card today... Initially requested to split credit limit for 1/4 since I have been rejected to increased my credit limit application back to June.

And now credit limit for this card (Islamic MC) has grant for 50% increased from current limit.

Must be 5k? Can it be pledged only 1k?

If you hold an Infinite or Premier card, I'm sure they are willing to issue you a card for 1k FD placement

But I never try that before personally. So try it at your own risk.

Certain merchant may offer higher discount for Platinum such as Agoda.

I just tried to email maybank customer service, requesting for splitting of credit limit from my mbb2c to re-apply for maybank ikhwan mastercard. Previously applied being rejected, so sad T__T. Hopefully can go thru this time.

nah, that's normal. currntly account is "offline", usually for acct maintenance/refresh.

Not worth to pledge FD for Ikhwan when you can easily do that with your income.

You use HL Essential for grocery? It still give you unlimited 1% rebate on anything except petrol. For me I used it for 2 years until I got Watami.
