I just made another call to Maybank to understand further. Finally, they revealed the reason for my rejection and I'm not able to appeal due to this reason. So, I have no choice but to wait till it passes the cooling period which is 6 months later.

My reason was high exposure. In layman term, my income is too low to have two separate credit limits la. sleep.gif They evaluate my income vs my spending and commitment and I guess they feel that I cannot afford to pay them back. sleep.gif I responded that I have never owed Maybank a single cent so far, I don't see why I should be rejected. The guy kept apologizing and said it is management's decision.

CC maskedchan, since you suggested I called the CS again. tongue.gif

at least you get a better explanation from the 2nd CS..
since the problem with credit limits, instead of reject, the bank should call u to discuss whether you could reduce the credit limits on current card and having the new card...

maybank still much to learn on how to get more customer to spend..

Yeah, what's more disappointing is nobody called me to inform about this news until I called to follow up. It was rejected on 16th April.
At least they should make an effort right? tongue.gif Even if they really did suggest me to split my CL, I won't agree as well. tongue.gif

why dont consider MBB VS since VS also come with cashback features..
add on another card that having same credit limit, they no reason to reject you this time whistling.gif

I'm a poor slave. Still far from VS' requirement. sad.gif

From what I heard, if your current credit limit already VS level (20k),u can get the card without hassle.
Perhaps you head to MBB VS thread and have a look

Is this true? Yea, my CL is that. Although my income is far from VS level. (And I doubt it will ever reach that  tongue.gif  sweat.gif ) But how do you tell MBB? Coz they always ask for latest income info
*

Thanks! Then I may apply sup card for my wife.
*
if she met the requirement, it is better for her to apply on her own..
then you can have separate cashback and earn up to RM100
