QUOTE(aidlover @ Aug 20 2014, 02:53 PM)
It allows you to use the touch screen without looking at the phone
Which means you can control your Music and use Waze from your HU. It also works without bypass
Get the Digital AV Adapter cable, HDMI cable and connect the necessary wires to your car HU
Step 3 Pair your phone bluetooth with your car HU
Step 4 Plug in your phone to the Digital AV cable and the HDMI is connected to your car HU. At the menu, you will notice that there will be an arrow pointing to the right
Step 5 Open App Radio app
Step 6 Click on the right arrow on your HU. You will be presented with the word "connecting..."
Step 7 After few seconds, you will notice the Pioneer App Radio launcher is launched. Swipe right and you will see your Waze icon
Step 8. Click on Waze and it will switch to Waze app. First time connecting waze will prompt you a dialog asking you do you want external device control waze. Click Yes
Step 9. Waze will work and you can use the touch screen to play it.
Step 10: The moment you click the home button on your HU, it will disconnects the screen. You need to open back Waze from your phone.
With jailbreak, you can do more where the HOME BUTTON WILL WORK flawlessly.
The behavior will be as following
1) Plugged in the HDMI cable, it will auto connect to your car HU via bluetooth and AppRadio launcher will launch 2) Clicking the home button will open AppRadio launcher
Step 1: Download the honda app launcher and Pioneer AppRadio app
Step 2: Make sure you have activator installed on your phone.
Step 3: Connect to your car HU via bluetooth and HDMI
Step 3: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Bluetooth Devices. Step 3a: At Bluetooth Devices > Connected to Honda HFT. Select User Application > App Radio
Step 4: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > More Step 4a: Select Application Launch > Choose Honda Launcher
Step 5: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Application Launched Step 5a: At Launch Launcher > Choose App Radio
*optional if you always plug in charger with HDMI together
Step 6: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Power Step 6a: At Connected > Choose Switches > Bluetooth
With these steps, your HU screen home button will work and whenever you connect the Digital AV cable in your car to your phone, it will auto open AppRadio where you can jump to other AppRadio approved applications.
When you press home on your HU, it will auto launch Honda Launcher app and it will redirect to AppRadio automatically.

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 9 2014, 10:17 PM)
Let me help you guys know more about cars and engine oil. The reason why SC insisted on not changing the oil is because there's a reason to it. All new Honda cars are filled with a special type of engine oil from the factory. Its different from those sold in the market or SC. This type of oil are meant for new engines that requires breaking in thus the composition of chemicals, addictives etc are different.
If you guys google more, u will notice Honda USA have explanation on the 1,000km doesn't require an oil change.
I hope i gave some useful info for you guys.

City CVT Mode

QUOTE
To make it easier to understand, CVT varies between a set of ratios (Let's say 3.5 to 0.7), while for 5AT each gear has its own ratio.
D mode = All ratios is being used for maximum efficiency (For AT, which means all 5 gears can be engaged, and CVT can vary into all the given ratio)
S mode = O/D Off, for Honda 5AT you are left with 1,2,3 only since 4 and 5 are OD gear. The same goes to CVT (which means the ratio range is now reduced to 3.5 to 1.0) hence dubbed as sport mode since with shorter ratio your rpm stays higher, and shorter ratio (lower gear) means more responsive throttle, and also better traction. It is like how you would go to lower gear on slope/going down hill/taking a corner.
L mode = Only the initial ratio (means only first gear for AT, first ratio range for CVT) used only for heavy towing or you are really going down a super slope
by ZeroSP
QUOTE
Yes, if you going up genting and you want easier time, put it to S mode. And going down hill the same also, you will want to use the lower gear ratio range in S mode.
I dunno what car you drive before but to sum it up.
D mode = D mode just like any car
S mode = O/D off in most general automatic car, or some car marked as D3 (As I have seen in Kelisa), cause their D is D4.
L mode = Same like normal L mode
Maintaining CVT and its performance, install a CVTF cooler (normally referred as ATF cooler, but since this is not an AT, I call it CVTF cooler), it works the same just to cool down your transmission fluid.
And for Honda, use the premium CVTF from Japan instead of normal grade CVTF from Singapore. The premium is called HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid) that comes in 4 litre can and cost 2x of normal CVTF. Many claims they are the same, but I tell you no, it is far different. I have used the HMMF for the my home old City, the ATF-DW1 Ultra for my sister's City, and also the MTF-3 Ultra for my bro's FD2R. All Japan version have superior response, especially in the CVT and AT, since for MT the gear change smoothness depends on your clutch control.
Note: The new City CVT is paired with Torque Converter, therefore I am not sure whether HMMF or the HCF-2 should be used as I do not own the new City. Kindly refer to your manual book.

Tips for CVT

Tips for a long-lasting Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
Below are guidelines that will help lengthen the life of the CVT (belt system). The CVT allows for very simple operation (no gear shifting), but it must be driven by an informed driver. The CVT offers many advantages, but it is also the easiest component for an uninformed person to damage.
Maintain a vehicle speed of 5 km/h or more (at least walking speed). This prevents the belt from slipping which generates heat / wear. Do not overload the vehicle. An overloaded vehicle causes excess slippage/heat to the belt (especially when starting uphill). Always have a mud guard on front wheel (it helps prevent dust and debris from getting into the CVT). Try to always stop on level surfaces or in a downhill direction (reduces belt wear over the long term). If you ever smell burnt rubber, stop the vehicle (its probably the belt). If the CVT or powertrain begins to vibrate beyond normal, do NOT continue to drive. HILLS
If starting uphill from a stop, use the brake until the transmission engages (do NOT let the vehicle roll back as you push the throttle) Do not utilize the throttle to resist rolling backward (as people do with cars when on an incline) Use the brake to resist backward motion AND release the brake as you press down the throttle If you must go up a steep hill, get a running start (don't try to start from a dead stop) If you are going to "coast" down a mountain for an extended period Do NOT go faster than 15 mph (25 km/h) unless you remove the chain or driveshaft If you are coasting for many kilometers, remove either the chain or the driveshaft When going down a steep hill, it is fine to allow the CVT to engage so that you have engine braking If possible, stop the BUV on flat ground or on a slight decline. If pointed uphill when parked, accelerate firmly for 1 second (this allows the belt to grab without slipping). If on a hill or heavily loaded, ask bystanders to help push the BUV into motion as you press the throttle (as people did with the Model T’s). This reduces stress on the belt and powertrain. IF STUCK AND BUV IS IMMOBILIZED
Do NOT continue to push the throttle (a common way that belts are damaged) Ask others to push the vehicle back and forth (accelerate during the forward motion only) or, have several people remove the obstacle or, use a hand-winch or cable-come-along (keep one with you if in rough terrain) OTHER
Do not tow the BUV by raising the front wheel only (unless you remove the driveshaft) Do not tow other vehicles with the BUV If a small fray occurs on the belt edge, cut it off. Don't allow a rope, or twine, fishing line, string, etc near the CVT or the engine. If the belt gets wet, either let it dry, or dry it by putting a very light load on the CVT Store extra belts in a protected area and away from sharp tools & objects If driving through long grass, tall bushes, yearling trees, take caution because a twig can damage the belt if ingested by the CVT. When parked, always remove wheel chocks instead of driving over them. Do not substitute the the big sprocket (i.e. the driven sprocket) with a smaller size. Avoid driving the vehicle during a sand/dust storm (wipe-down inner surfaces of the CVT afterwards) Before wipe down, park the vehicle on level ground, turn off engine, and use wheel chocks. Do not let engine oil, gasoline, or diesel get on the belt. If the belt gets muddy, stop the vehicle and wipe down the belt and inward surfaces of the CVT Do not use a different size belt (write CVT part numbers on the BUV for easy reference) To observe CVT operation, put the vehicle on blocks & run the powertrain in a stationary position. Belt tension when engine is off: at belt midpoint, one can push the belt in about 2" & pull outward 1" If driving up a step or curb, Instead, hit the curb at 1 mph (and accelerate as each wheel contacts the curb). If possible, hit the curb at an angle (so each rear wheel climbs the curb separately) Do not get to the curb, stop completely, and then floor it

Another thing I like to highlight between the City and my Inspira.
CVTs are known for rubber band effect s. Suprisingly, there is very little rubber band effect here compare to my Inspira. This car is very responsive, better than the torque converter cars like Vios, Almera and even Forte.
Btw, I am still driving in Econ mode.
Earth dream CVT really no play play man... No wonder all the reviews says the car has good response and acceleration and beats the rest of the competitors. ..Its the gearbox that makes all the difference and optimize the power of the old Engine. Fuiyo..imagine Earthdream gearbox plug into Inspira Mivec 2.0....wah lau...

Same with my Camry, but never driven away before without the key... Maybe I should try...
My guess is the car will be disabled if the key gets out of range, but this is dependent on the car manufacturer... In short, RTFM...

What I understand its not an immobaliser, so anyone can drive off without the keys. But if the engine stops, cant restart.
Like many Malaysians, you can leave your child in the car and walk off to buy things in the shop while engine and AC still running. After that let the thief enter and drive off the car.
Its more like Inspira vs City grade V. Preve still far away if its good driving that you are interested in. Btw, I am saying this from test driving show room cars.
Hi, took car last week and found this thread today.... i thought the other thread is the official
My car has the dashboard gap, how are you guys dealing with it? or just ignoring it? or only planning to ask them during the 1k service?
Im trying to read as much as i could from the v1 and v2 but still tons left to digest. There has been numerous questions on the tyre.
May i know the pros and cons of upgrading the tyre size? By upgrading is the trade off really worth it? In terms of satisfaction (Mine is a silver E spec [Ordered Modern Steel at end of may... wait till 1 week before taking the car then change to silver cus of feedback from parents] and also my first car, it explains the noob question)
Lastly, i would like to know what setting are you guys putting on your auto lock? pnp version Mine is currently, If gear put into D then it auto lock and P auto open. Im thinking of changing it into speed setting. Any advice?

Inspira can beat City in power and handling but safety will lose out to Vspec. 6 airbags and VSC is not something common back in 2008 when the original fake Inspira was lanuched...
Between City and Preve...city anyday....unless budget is a concern and you want to have the best safety car within a limited budget. So all depends on your criteria.

Yes, they have paddles but no rear aircond. Plus and minus mah. Research shows most people don't use paddle shift...which is probably right. I never use the paddle shift on my Inspira either...feels too weird, dunno how to use. Rear-air cond more canggih...Altis also dun have. Can lagak and boast to friends...see my City got rear aircond like Camry!!!
But honestly, it's just for show...LOL. But the rear power socket is very useful though. Not sure Thai version got or not.

Oh yeah, the SA told me that VSA should be turn off when going through mud etc....so no rally with VSA on? Maybe that's the reason there's a button to turn off the VSA??
i never understand why there's an off button for VSA previously!

That's when you get stuck in soft mud and need to turn left and right rapidly with some wheel spin to get out... VSA might mess up with that IMO
Probabaly. Oh well, this not Honda Mud Rally anyway...hehehe. Who will want to dirty his car driving off road...
Shit happens when its least expected... the last time I got into such condition (well I wasn't the driver), went to MotoGP and parked at the palm oil car park... and then it rained cats and dogs. Driving out from the car park was a nightmare LOL, lots of wheel spin here and there. Not sure if that car had VSA or not, was a previous gen Honda Accord 2.0L. Then the car was heavy, can't stop long at a spot as will start to sink in.
hello all.. i have problem my city 09 front brake pad running out. so i bought brembo brake pad model p28023s is it suitable for my car n can recommend any workshop near selayang and normaly how much they will charge?

@p_cock01 if buy already then its too late to ask if its suitable. If normal driving, standard ori pads are ok for cars.
I plan to buy honda city s spec. Would like to ask on warranty status if i change the steel rims to 15" rim honda city s+ or E specs from owners who trade in their rims.
Will it void the warranty even though i opt for honda standard warranty?

Similar to this was raised in previous replies, but Good to check with the honda service. What did Honda sales tell you?

I haven't ask them yet, will ask later. Oh, i am in the impression that changing rim to higher size potentially will void warranty, but not sure on changing rims to honda standard rim.

guys,
what is the ok time for the SA can check the chassis and engine number?
is it before the car arrives the branch or they can directly check from the factory?
my car will be arriving this coming friday, can i check the numbers today?
thanks
When SA gives the car to you , you check lor. Why do you want to go to factory? ?? Lol. Just make sure the registration card info matches the car when SA gives to you. He should go through with you to check.

Hey, you guys who has tinting...do you see oil stains on the windshield? Last night I saw oil stain there...is it because the tint still new and have to wait for it to cure completely? You wont notice during daytime,, but nightime can see clearly when headlights shine on your windshield.
Btw, I concurred about what some one said about the suspension...on V spec, during test drive, it was harder and more bumpy at the back, on my Espec, the suspension is softer and not very bumpy at all. Must be the difference in the rim and tyre size....I think I will stick to the current tyres for ttime being...until maybe 2 years later then only change the Rims to 16" and thicker tyres....

I thought about this also, turning off VSA when stuck in mud. Then I though shouldn't traction control help in such cases, I mean if TC can't get you out of the mud, endlessly spinning your wheels in it won't help either, right? Turning off VSA would switch off TC as well.
VSA/TC will automatically apply brake on ur car tyre when it detect skidding/lose traction, u want to turn that off so that it doesn't automatically apply brake..
when ur non-VSA/TC car stuck in mud & press gas pedal lightly doesn't get it out of mud, u will stomp on gas pedal more rather than pressing brake right?
bank called me yesterday. rhb islamic. 2.53. is that good?
depends on the amount of loan and the repayment period. i'm waiting for the interest rate call from bank as well. my uncle got for around 2.3 but I'm not sure about how much is the loan though?

Question is....does stomping on the pedal gets you out of the mud or dig you deeper
TC was designed for such scenario (albeit in snow or slippery surfaces) - intermittently applying brakes so the wheels can regain traction like ABS. Not sure if the same applies to mud.
Can buy any brand and plug in the camera? V spec have cable attached? Or do we need to add extra cable for this?
Vspec ori HU connectors are all socket type, not the RCA plug type. So U need an adapter harness for our Honda City 2014 Reverse camera. Currently on the market got a few brands of reverse camera that comes with additional plug n play adapter harness specially for used by honda city 14. If those brands that does not comes with the adapter harness, some Acc shop already got sell the modification kit, which they will add in extra wires from mod kit to ur original Head Unit connector, so ur camera signal input can connected to ur HU

I saw few reverse camera with night vision, some with LED light.. Dunno what to choose also. And dunno which compatible with the HU.
Anyone know what is the resolution on the 7 inch HU, i think we should buy those CCD/CMOS sensor that can fully utilized the screen resolution....

then i guess the VSA off button purpose is to give us control when to manually control gas pedal+brake, or let TC take care of it, since human judgements better than what system can achieve
but then again this article mention TC not prevent tyre from stuck in snow: "Many people mistakenly believe that traction control will prevent their vehicle from getting stuck in the snow. This couldn't be further from the truth. Traction control does not have the ability to increase traction; it just attempts to prevent a vehicle's wheels from spinning."

Not really wor...when i press acceleration hard, it feel like dragging the car as it still locking the wheel...
How ar?
One thing i notice is the brake is kind of hard to press down.. can only press till half like tat...
When hill assist is engaged after you release the brake pedal, and then you quickly step on the brakes again, the brake pedals will feel stiff as the pressure on the brake pumps are not released yet (as in, hill assist is still applying the brakes, and you are trying to apply even more brakes).
So, it is normal if you brake pedals feel hard to press while the hill assist is in operation.
However, it should immediately disengage and release the brakes when you press the throttle. If it fails to release the brakes, then it is not normal and you need to get it checked.

Hill assist is designed to prevent the car from rolling backwards when you move your feet from the brakes to the throttle lah.
Yes it will hold it for 3 seconds, because they estimate it shouldn't take longer than that for your right foot to move a few inches from the brakes to the throttle
But if you time the amount of seconds between you releasing the brake pedal - swipe card - palang open and think still can make it before the system releases the brakes, you can do it also geh

I just got my car yesterday (after 2 weeks of waiting after booking) and still didn't fully understand how's this car works exactly
I have a quick question. When I press the pedal to maintain speed about 20-30km/h, the acceleration acting weird. Sometimes the car loosing power for about 1-1.5 sec then continue to accelerate.

Most likely you are not getting use to the Cvt behaviour yet.
Btw, I have tried the HBA...I letgo more than 3 seconds I think, car didnt rollback.

Most likely, anyway, are you driving in ECON mode? If yes, try to switch it off and see if there's difference.
But it's still way much better than the VIOS, tekan also kennot jalan(even my wife said that...and her colleague who tested the VIOS also said that). The Earthdream CVT is actually more responsive than my Inspira in the low RPMs... (which makes it excellent for City driving...oh wait...this is Honda City, not Honda Mountain Pass...of course leh... )
I have 3 years of CVT driving experience btw...LOL.

Yes boss.. that is the exact V spec HU.. takes me quite awhile and quite a few scratches to get it removed. Still new and the clips r still tight n 'virgin'
I am not one of your kind, but am seriously considering buying a City in the near future. I'm sure people here could go on and on about the benefits of owning a City (it is the owners club after all). However, as a potential buyer naturally I'm most concerned with its weaknesses So I'd appreciate your to share your most honest and unbiased view on any problems and dissatisfactions you've had with your beloved City.
Areas I'm particularly concerned with are - fuel consumption - reliability - after sales service - cost of servicing and spare parts - back seat suspension and comfort of ride (my not-so-young parents will be sitting at the back)
but do highlight any other City-specific problem areas too.

Item 2, reliabilty. What do you actually mean? Its Honda. Item 3 & 4, go and ask the service centre for actual cost. See if they entertain you. That will give an idea what kind of service they have. This is because it depends on the service centre that you go to. For item 5, best to bring them to a test drive on various grade of the new City.

Areas I'm particularly concerned with are - fuel consumption - Better than VIOS according to user's feedback...According to specs, beats VIOS and Almera - reliability - It's a Honda, apa ktard mau lagi? - after sales service - It's a Honda, apa ktard mau lagi? - cost of servicing and spare parts - no difference than VIOS or Almera...probably cheaper than Almera according to Almera's user's feedback of TCSS rip off services. - back seat suspension and comfort of ride (my not-so-young parents will be sitting at the back) - V-Spec is harder than E-Spec. E-Spec comfort is very decent. Just don't go fast over small nasty bumps. Anyway, some superior comfort tyres will improve the situation even more.
but do highlight any other City-specific problem areas too. No decent competitors.
All comments are most appreciated
Cheers!
Anyway, go test drive, and compare the specs and price.
I have test drive Vios,Almera, Attrage, Jazz Hybrid, Rio, Picanto and City before deciding on the City.
If you really wants superior comfort in the rear, i suggest you get an Inspira instead...beats all of the above.

This is what i mean by socket type, and not the RCA video in connector
Cool!!! Thanks!!!
Honda seems to use their proprietary connect socket. I am from Penang and dunno which shop does this camera best. Asking few shops around and they ask me back on does it need cable? etc etc. My god. I am not expert here on the connection.

erm, actually when the first generation jazz comes out, Honda does market it as a "min MPV" due to its versatility. But it looks more like a "tiny MPV" more.
If want a mini CRV then wait for the Honda Vezel, also based on the City/Jazz platform

Thanks for replying. I noticed you had no negative comments though. So you have no problems/gripes about your City at all? Sounds too good to be true Are there any particular SCs you know that are good/bad? And as for test drives, I've been to two showrooms and they only have the V spec as a test drive unit. Also, Matrix mentioned earlier that V spec is harder than E spec. Why would the ride differ between specs? From what I understand the differences between E and V should be mostly cosmetic, things like airbags and foglights. I have already test driven the V spec with my mom in the back, and she said it wasn't that comfortable compared to some other models I test drove.

difference V and other specs probably due to bigger rim. for me no problem, only minor cosmetic issue. honda got a lot of SC, if not satisfied can go try other SC. If passenger comfort is major concern better buy vios the god car

If passenger comfort is major concern better buy vios but if passenger safety is concern better buy city..
I'm driving this car from April until now and enjoy my ride everyday. I don't have a complaint about it and not really care about minor cosmetic issues though.

The rims and tyrre size. That makes the diffirence. If don, like, buy Inspira, beats god car anyday with superior comfort for about same price. Go test drive the high end spec with the leather seats.
hi guys, may i know what is the common/average waiting time to get the car after paying down payment (the car has arrived, but my SA seems procastinating things) i've booked blue v spec.. thanks..

Must see your loan also. After payment all done...
It will normally take 3 to 6 days for SA to register, transfer NCB, tinted (if from SA).

Mine is about 3 working days...but I delay my SA because I am not free to take my car on weekday..lol. If do quickly, in the end took 5 working days including tinting. But the tint done on same car collection day...maybe its better to ask your SA to deliver 2 days after tinting because need minimum 48 hours for tint to dry...otherwise cannot rolldown window...very troublesome!! Lol

.. i've booked in mid April, planned to have at end of june( so that i have ample time to save for dp), but SA dragged to mid July

Not a good idea....my SA only ask me to sign the agreement when the car is ready. I only sign agreement when i pay the downpayment...so you are still free to change your mind while waiting....i booked S-Spec, in the end change to E-Spec...LOL. Next time don't sign agreement until car is ready.

BS. Once you apply for the loan and approved, it's locked at that rate. But anyway, 2.44 is good rate, so don't complain liao.
my city has done about 4,000km. i am planning to balik raya from JB to Penang next weekend. Do I need to send the car for service before going? Next scheduled service is 10k as you all know.

Normal lah...most SC in Malaysia benggang wan..regardless of brand....you must tell them what to do.
Maybe some of these jokers are the caused of the problem of wrong gear oil change causing the iDSI generation gearbox problem....
When you guys change gearbox engine oil...asked kaw-kaw and ask them to show you which oil...ask them previous gen city(using Torque converter 5AT gearbox) which oil too...if they point to the same oil, lari kuat-kuat.

Honda Seremban put a sticker on my car stated next service will be August.. but i just done my 1000k service on May...
ooo.. no wonder la. the 1000km service is not really a service, just a checkup. they dont change the engine oil so means you received your car around february, right?

Err...IF he changed engine oil during the previous service, maybe yes.
But all Hondas don't change engine oil during 1K/1 month service. Thus, I'd err on the side of 10K/6 months regardless of when you did the 1st service, cos 1st service is just inspections/chassis tuning/checking.

Oh...thanks for the highlight...yah..
That means, if received car in April, Service 1k in May, Service 10k in October.
1k/1st month you need to go inspect only. Free labor
10k/6months you need to go service d. Free labor but Part price 192.98
20k/12months. Labor 126.14 + Part 98.52 = Total 224.66
...
When i did my 1K service, i asked to see the service schedule with price for all. same as your quote here but the admin there tell me, the prices listed are for mineral oil and they will automatically change to full-synth oil when i come do my actual service. so you need to add another rm100 to each quoted price.
10k = RM292.98 20k = RM324.66
If you want semi-synth then add rm20 only. Im thinking of going for that. seems like semi-synth is better value anyway.

Why the oil so cheap?? Used mineral oil ah? I think i will use full synthetic since mileage low and will only service car twice a year.
Btw, anyone has done some basic waxing and coating (not those PPS/SierraGlow, just normal one)? Any recommended shop to go around PJ?
yes, prices quoted are mineral oil. im probably going to use optimum no rinse instead of wax but havent purchased yet.

u sure or not bro?? my experience is the exact opposite. i've been pumping primax 95 on my other car the majority of its life, then i switched to BHP coz it meets euro 5 standard thinking it would be good. performance was terrible. felt like i lost 10-20hp. then it struck me, euro 5 standard has nothing to do with car performance, its about emissions. to reduce emissions, they probably reduced the dirty stuff that gives power to a car so it makes sense for the fuel to be less powerful.

For those who has done their service, does the HONDA SC tells you if 10k/6 mths, cannot use mineral oil? Since they advertised mineral oil price, then it can be consider as false advertisement if they force you to take other oils.

i stand corrected, euro 3 standard fuel has no effect on power. it only reduces the sulphur and particulate content which does not affect power. my experience must have been because BHP just has low power fuel for some reason
IMO, if you are getting bad mileage, its probably because you are pressing the accelerator more than usual in order to get the same power.

Nope, i drive my Inspira slow only. No difference. Anyway, won't pump BHP anymore. Sticking to PRIMAX or maybe try Caltex later (but sienz...very hard to find station).

Caltex is good, smooth and good FC. Only lose out to BHP in terms of raw acceleration.

I've never heard carmakers doing overhaul or rebuild under warranty unless something seriously wrong with the engine such as piston crack.
Macamla Honda gonna dismantle your engine because you suspect got sludge buildup, other than the sludge caused serious damage like in Proton CFE's case (that one really mempersiasuikan, even BorgWarner also no eye see).

engine mounting / drive shaft / lower arm those are small parts only.
Those things of course can claim, summore some of them it is a known manufacturer defect that affected many units. If you service late but speaker kong you also can claim new speakers because it is unrelated to engine.
But if you service late and later your engine internals kong (eg. piston ring koyak etc.), then different story. Those are big ticket items that SCs will comb thru your service record before agreeing to honor your warranty.

this one i confirm with branch manager and toyota hotline. You can call for enquiries if you dont believe. All toyota new cars can exceed 1 month or mileage not more than 500km.

One month and 500km is a lot different from 6 months as the other forumer intended to do la...
Most carmakers can tolerate 1 month/500km late, but if you say 2 months or 2000km later then Toyota also no gib face liao.
My car also send in about a month late because my mileage is quite low, but I won't risk anymore than that.

Besides, you buy a car which cost at least 70k++, why bother to save that little bit of money? If you cannot afford to service your car twice a year, beter dont buy one.
Besides, the Honda City has 5 years/unlimited mileage warranty, unlike crappy Vios with only 3 yrs/100k mileage....why risk voiding the warranty? ?

Besides, you buy a car which cost at least 70k++, why bother to save that little bit of money? If you cannot afford to service your car twice a year, beter dont buy one.
Besides, the Honda City has 5 years/unlimited mileage warranty, unlike crappy Vios with only 3 yrs/100k mileage....why risk voiding the warranty? ?

Lol. Sc and SA all can tok cok. You go read Toyota website if they have or call to HQ asked. When you have problems and never follow service schedule, see they fxuk you or not. This applies to all cars. There's no exception. Otherwise, how to make money??
Tell me who's the one who failed at comprehending? lol? I almost laugh so hard and fell off from my chair reading at BOLD parts.
1. Go to Toyota website or HQ you definitely get the answer.
2.When i don't follow service schedule for my altis, camry, vios, i have no problem and they don't give me a f***?
3. NO.. don't apply to all cars.

1) You are the one who argue to prove a point. Why should i dig for you? You might as well say "Go ask Uncle Google". Great comeback!!
2) Yah...wait till you have serious problem, then then also no give a fc**k about you.
3) Ok, so maybe that's my assumption. I admit (not like you, never admitting anything). Anyway, twice a year service is no big deal. Doesn't cost a lot and not much time used.
The laughiing stock is the person paid overprice junk for a VIOS instead of a City lor. Quiet sure it's not me lor.

No idea...you call the SA and check with them. Most likely it will be all added back to the installment, so installment will be super kaw-kaw. Money have to go back somewhere.
Hi aromachong. I fully support you as during my Toyota warranty period when I encounter ABS brake system and caliper failure. I able to claimed for the warranty even I did not follow the 10k/6 months whichever come first. What I follow is just mileage in which clock at 10k per service. Toyota is given the allowance in which during the warranty period still able to claimed for your parts if they discover faulty after done some diagnostic. My car is already 10 years old and condition is still perfect. Only drive 8 years onwards have some minor rattling sound from door panel due to long run park the car under the sun without sun shed.
Yeah, some of the newbies don't even know how things work out and "pretend" to know well. hehe..

Better get the words in black and white, or else every entity can change their term and condition from time to time, without prior notices. After few years, really find some claims needed, the SC can change the words simply if no any statement wrote. Then chia lat liao.....

Last reply. you still have no proof(and have NEVER prrovided any links, screenshot of the T&C etc) other than you believe what your SA said and didn't acknowledge the fact we are talking about vast gap of service interval, not just a mere 500km difference.

Proof? You have to prove me wrong OK? How? You need to sort out yourself and not by depending me on spoon feeding you ya? (I had prove you wrong by correcting your previous statements) which you seems quite aggressive and felt offend.
500KM or not, it's still a mileage. Agree? even 1KM is a mileage.
Last but not least, I didn't believe what SA said ( i didn't mention it in my previous statement, AGAIN). I EXPERIENCED it myself claiming all parts which suppose to, be it factory defect, known defects, etc. AGAIN, don't ask me to prove anything because you don't expect to be spoonfeed ya?

Hi aromachong, as you know, we are experience Toyota cars owner and this is the advise we expressed to them. But unfortunately they unable to understand our point of view due to not Owning a Toyota car. What can we do? They even blacklisted me from the thread due to my argument on the overall car condition. I'm just wondering if a car did not reach 10k and go for service will be a big waste of money for those people who treat their car as weekend car.
lol... he thought city is the best car.. or his inspira can beat any segment car? sorry if i assume wrongly , lol..
I have altis, vios , and camry and i can say i never disappoint because of its reliability. And he accuse Toyota vios is a crappy over price junk car, but, heh who cares about that? (if what he said were facts, why vios is best selling non-national car in MALAYSIA and its RV also pretty good). That is why i say its personal preferences and anyone can spend their money on any car they like. He is quite aggressive actually by mentioning junk car , lol.
But hey, this is an open forum and i was just merely correcting his statements which is quite misleading.

Hi, please help to had a peace discussion for the thread.
Everyone had own experience, some may/may not agree, but at least someone is trying to help.
Hi aromachong, since Honda have a high maintenance cost due to whichever come first clause, have you consider on Toyota Altis 1.8E, 2.0G or 2.0V? This C segment car really improved a lot in terms of exterior looking, 7 speed CVT Sport Sequential Shift, new rear LED light, 16'inch Yokohama tyres 205/55/R16 and reclining seat. Overall reliability is there due to CBU unit, high RV and schedule maintenance for 10k service as what we did previously...
Hi, please respect the thread is for City owner discussion.

+1. I plan to trade in my 2008 altis and go for 2.0V latest altis. I strongly believe its a worth car to try with.

I agreed with you. This car is far better in terms of quality and reliability. At least peace of mind and value for money. In fact, next year GST is imposed heavily on interest rate and car price...better take high spec vehicle and higher RV will gain since interest rate and car price will increase...
Then by all means, go buy Toyota and stop hijacking other threads. U can continue ur discussion over at altis thread. Whatever u say will not change other forumers pov or ur just wanna highlight to others ur are indeed toyota salesman lol

But this one confirm Toyota salesman. Been bashing city since the day it launched. Must be due to bad sales for vios
Hahaha...I like the way you're talking....since I had blacklisted from this thread long time ago...I add some salt will make some color to this thread...sales bad or good for Toyota is nothing related to me....what we hope is good car with minimal flaws after sales service.

Agree. I might trade in my old altis not late that this year and head for the latest 2.0V one.
The facts i am here is to correct newbie's statement. But seems like he was offensive and defensive.
Hi aromachong, he is not newbie's here but an experience people in which look for black and white as a proof to the statement. But, black and white statement also have grey side in which normal people unable to judge the scenario unless they experience it personally. Moreover, he also have wife and kids to take care and not easy for him to become a responsible father and husband. From the conversation, I know that he is very concern on his wife feeling when received the car. In terms of child responsibility, he place a lot of effort on given the best for his kids, such as having various activities and make sure his family get the best from this society.
I *doubt* he's a father and a wife for someone. Keyword = Mature.

toyota also had maintenance according to the whichever come first clause. so i do not see nay difference between the two car manufacturers in terms of service mileage

No la, he put a lot of effort to build up a happy family. He only drive Proton Inspira, not even go for Toyota or Honda brand. If a person have high selfishness in mind motivation, he can opt for Toyota Camry or Honda Accord but he didn't. Instead given the best for his wife and kids. From my understanding, he have done his job well as a responsible father and husband.

Should be fine gua, but why (unless you hits 6 months by then)? Just wait until 10k lah. After all, we are suppose to run in the car with the default factory engine oil.

It's fine if you wanna service before it is due but u have to follow the schedule after that service of course. Servicing earlier is never a problem

ODB only add 1 device to the CAN connector. No cutting of wire... Should not affected the warranty
Dont worry, any device connected to OBD2 connector is just plug n play, it wont affect ur warranty. If u scare warranty effected, then just pull it out n unplug it before going to SC. No warranty effected. Its just like a programming connector only.
and for info, OBD2 is the type of connector used for ur car CAN... most car nowadays using OBD 2 except older cars may still use old OBD connector. many device can be connected to OBD2 connector, one of it is the Speedlock/P-D Lock which lock ur car.. SC wants to diagnose any problem with ur car or engine, they do the same thing : plug in a Diagnostic Interface Scanner device to ur OBD2 connector underneath ur steering there, and use the device to read any error msg / fault code on ur car, or erase any fault msg / chk engine light.

u gotta be firm what u want before u step into any accessory shop
Soooo.....the bootlid gap issue has been somewhat "reduced". I said "reduced" and not "fixed" because it is still not completely flushed.
Then they made another problem, now there is a larger gap on the left side between the bootlid and the left rear quarterpanel, compared to the right side. Meaning to say, the whole bootlid is slightly offset to the right side. Not noticable with a casual glance, but if you compare them the difference is quite huge (left side can masuk my pinky finger, right side can barely masuk my finger nail).

i tried going 2 weeks regular driving with econ mode on and 2 weeks regular driving with econ mode off. got the same FC, 15.7km/L. so, nowadays i never use econ mode anymore. since it makes no difference to efficiency, might as well just enjoy the power, right?
If you are concerned about maximizing your Honda’s fuel efficiency, then the ECON button is your new best friend!
Hondas are known for their great fuel economy, but if you want to take it one step further, consider pressing the ECON button. With one press your vehicle switches into a super efficient mode that does everything it can to maximize fuel efficiency:
a more gentle throttle is maintained
in vehicles with automatic transmission, it shifts into higher gears more quickly than without the ECON mode
in vehicles with manual transmission, the display screen will indicate when you should shift gears for better fuel economy
it limits how long the air conditioner runs
These small changes help to lighten load on the engine, so the fuel consumed is mostly being used for driving power. In ECON mode, fuel isn’t used by shifting gears at the wrong time, overuse of the air conditioner, or sudden stops-and-starts. Your vehicle can completely focus on driving.
That's cause you press the pedal harder due to lack of power.. lots of time this is the cause of ECON mode being not ECON...
I disagree. Tried with cruise control set at 110 with n without econ mode on flat road. Rpm with econ mode ON is higher compare to econ mode OFF. It has nothing to do with my right foot.
