I disagree.
Tried with cruise control set at 110 with n without econ mode on flat road. Rpm with econ mode ON is higher compare to econ mode OFF. It has nothing to do with my right foot.

Econ mode, about rpm 2100
Econ mode off, rpm 2000 only.

Both on flat road.

IINM, previously had read an article, cruise control will consume more petrol.

Because, the vehicle dont know the road condition, when ramp up, it will accelate to maintain the speed
And ramp down, it will brake/slow down to keep desire speed.

This wont had if you control via foot~
But cruise is for comfort long distance driving, so gonna pay for it icon_idea.gif

correct me if I am wrong.

This I agreed with you. Cruise Control floor the acceleration like a heavy footer when drive uphill.

U must know how to use the cruise control. Slight up hill is ok. Steeper n long up hill, cancel it n use right foot control. Downhill use right foot.
Cruise back on when road is flat. This save fuel n free your right foot.

Econ mode up hill also higher rpm than non econ mode. So...I going against econ mode now.
Try using econ n non econ in multi storey parking n feel it for yourself. Econ mode very indecisive

Try longer hill route using both mode, I'm sure u will turn off econ mode after a few attempts.

Went to 10k service just now. The sc told even the semi synthetic oil cant last 10k km. He recommend using honda eco synthetic oil. The price is rm50 higher than the mineral oil. Other charges, similar to what shown in honda website. Anyone using this eco oil already?

really?? thats like false advertising then.
did they say the 5 year warranty would be void if we used mineral oil instead of fully synth?

i think maybe your SC not being honest. My SC say i can request to use mineral oil, no problem. but then again they never mention whether or not it void the warranty.

AFAIK, Nissan website also shows mineral oil. Toyota website can't see anything at all.

I suppose if they can put it there, then it's ok, you can always call up HONDA HQ and ask and update us here. smile.gif

He didnt mention about warranty being void. He just told me that according to his experience, mineral oil wont last 10k km. It will get thicker after 5-7k km and wont perform as good as new. Not to say i believe him 100%, but in all my car also i dont dare to pour mineral oil and drive for 10k km. Huhu

yes, traditionally mineral only lasts 5000km, semi synth 7500km and full synth 10000km but it also depends on how clean the engine burns the fuel. vw cars can go 15000km service interval. if according to your SC's logic, that kind of service interval must be illogical.

personally, i do think taking mineral oil to 10k km is a risk i would rather not take but i am willing to go for semi-synth for an additional rm20 from mineral oil price.

one more thing, my SC say fully synth oil is add rm100 from quoted service price. how come u got rm50?

Actually, it can last longer. Semi-synth 10k/6 months is no problem at all. Mineral oil i am not so sure. But i never put mineral oil in my cars anyway. Minimum semi-synth.

There you go, he said according to his experience, which is against textbook recommendation. So if anything goes wrong, who u wanna blame? Him or honda?
