So unifi technicians installed a lot of those around my area about 3 weeks ago, Does anyone know how long will it take them to offer me unifi/streamyx? They still haven't updated their database.

Both are having good connection to China especially HK.

this china sites problem, do we hv confirmation maxis fiber, time fiber n streamyx has no such problem?

there is speculation that unifi "cut back bandwidth" (whatever that means) for china sites since 12 sep.

it hope it is not true but due to a true technical problem they r addressing. but how come after 4 days, there is no official news or notice from them?

if they don't fix this problem soon, many unifi customers will soon dump unifi n change to others that work.

Does anyone know what kind of download speeds you're getting from premium Uploaded.net account? Mine varies a bit, but generally on a single download I never seem to be able to go near the 10Mbps speed my VIP10 package provides. I have to download simultaneously to get speeds close to 800KBps.

this is what i get from other ppl complaint.

Thank you for contacting TM UniFi. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply.
Referring to your e-mail dated 1st June 2013 pertaining on Unifi connection issue to china website, we apologize for any inconvenience that you are facing currently. Currently we observed increase in traffic flow towards China sites. This might be due to:
- booming of popular games server and content provider in China
- increasing demand of bandwidth hungry application ie: video/music streaming, iptv, online gaming, p2p
- huge demand of China based traffic for biz purposes
This will result in customers experiencing some degree of service degradation while accessing contents hosted in the China, such as slow internet speed during surfing, downloading, streaming and online gaming. However, traffic to other countries is not affected.
However, please be informed that we will continuously improve our network to deliver the best experience to our customer and not only to china, but to the other destination as well. At the meantime, we really appreciate your kind patience, as we will try our best effort to resolve this problem. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
For further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at unifi@tm.com.my . Alternatively, you can also contact TM UniFi at 1300-88-1221 for "Technical Customer Support" and “General enquiry and Billing”.
We look forward to serving you better.

Hi fellow UniFi users, need your input on a complicated situation I am facing. sad.gif

My neighbor has recently been extending their house - building an entire room behind it - and unfortunately the renovations come into close contact with the fiber cable leading from my house to the box on the telephone pole. The fiber cable itself crosses over a wall that divides the houses (I live in a terrace house) at an angle towards the pole.

I gave my neighbor the benefit of the doubt until today, when my BTU's LAN and OPTICAL lights went off for a while. When I checked outside, the renovation workers were dangerously close to the fiber cable, so I suspect they may have pulled on it or something to cause the temporary loss of connection. I observed what they did afterwards, and found that they did in fact tug on it several times to get it out of the way as they assembled the new room's roof.

When I first got UniFi, I was told that fiber cables are extremely fragile due to the glass core. I am now worried that the workers may have permanently damaged the external cable in some way, but as of the time of this post, my connection is working fine.

Is there a way that I can check if the cable has been severely affected? The only way besides calling customer service is probably to wait for a storm or strong wind to kick in and see if the connection drops again.

I am also nervous about calling customer service because TM has had a reputation for making things worse when their technicians come over to check things. But at the same time, I know that they can take their sweet time to come over, and I fear that if I wait for the weather and it DOES knock out my line, it may take weeks for them to come and fix it.

Sorry for TL;DR. Thanks in advance for any advice.

this response is not encouraging. looks like they had no vision of what happened and currently have no contingency plans to deal with it fast. i read it more as justifying the degradation; take it or leave it.

apparently this is not the first time, happened june 2013. same email response:
