I am thinking of upgrading my 4Mbps Streamyx to Unifi VIP10.
What brand/model of broadband equipment are TM providing for new Unifi customers?

QUOTE(azeL_Inc @ Aug 5 2014, 12:59 PM) care to explain how can i get the same offer. i m yet to regsiter, but looking at suscribing to VIP5, but if i can get rm179 per month for vip10, might consider that one also As a new subscriber, I would prefer to get the VIP10 for RM179 on the spot, rather than getting VIP5 first and waiting for the VIP10 upgrade offer. |

I have submitted my online application for Unifi VIP5 two days ago.
This morning a TM staff called me to get my full particulars and arranged for the installation to be done in a week from today. I am currently on 4Mb Streamyx, which I need to cancel after VIP5 is successfully commissioned. I wanted a new number for the VOIP phone. |

There are a lot of satisfied Unifi users here.
Hope I will be one of them next week. |

Is TM still supplying new Unifi customers with the DLink DIR-615 router or have they replaced that with something else?

QUOTE(chengsiong @ Aug 11 2014, 11:29 PM) I may recommend you to get ANY router with dual-band which is less than RM300, such as TP link either this http://www.tp-link.com.my/products/details...odel=TL-WDR4300 or this http://www.tp-link.com.my/products/details...odel=TL-WDR4900 which both also under RM300. ( Recommend you to buy router with visible attenna tho arecheese mentioned the best unifi router REPLACEMENT, not an add-on. Then You just follow this guide https://rizvanrp.com/pub/unifi_athena_my/cu...outers.php.html to let DIR-615 to do VLAN untagging only, and connect the port to ur new router WAN port and set up PPPoE, then you're done :3 Edit: And the more device conencts to your router, the more cpu juice it required. I recommend WDR4900 tho and going to buy it |

QUOTE(qomapoda @ Aug 12 2014, 12:23 AM) Hey guys i have a problem here... So i just installed my unifi last month and i hav a problem with playing steam games like dota 2. I get random disconnect every minutes sumtimes every seconds and i found out that those unifi users wif the rg wbr2300 router have this issue too. I have tried port forwarding the router and it doenst work. N i noe is not the problem of my computer or game client bcoz i hav use my yes4g to play it and it works perfectly fine. So is there any solution to this? Izzit the problem of the router if so how do i solve this? It is definitely not a port-forwarding problem. If it is, then you can't access the game server at all. I have set up a Minecraft server at home to allow other players to game on my PC. If I forgot to port-forward 25565 in the router, they can't come in at all. |

QUOTE(SHOfrE3zE @ Aug 14 2014, 05:29 PM) guys, i'm currently subscribing to UNIFI 20mb/s and I'm getting frequent disconnection when playing Dota 2 public server. It doesn't kick me from the game but i'll show connection problem for a few seconds and resume back. The problem is, it happens all the time and frequently hence spoiling my game time. You are getting these sort of speeds for VIP20? Anyone having the same problem? Here's my speedtest result: ![]() (p.s: i'm using the default D-link router (1st gen) and connected on wired directly) |

My VIP5 installation went smoothly yesterday.
Two TM Unifi installers came to my house at the appointed time. They drilled a small hole to let in the optical fibre pulled from the telephone pole near the back of my house. They didn't install an FTB outside my house but installed a small fibre wall socket (FWS). Four Unifi equipment were supplied. A Huawei EchoLife HG8240w BTU, an Innacomm RG4332 wireless router, a Huawei EC6106V5 STB and a Motorola C401A DECT phone. The STB requires a different login ID xxxx@iptv and password from the normal Unifi login ID xxxx@unifi. The wireless signal from the RG4332 is weak, so I configured my existing Streamyx wireless router, a DLink DIR-605L, as an access point to have a better wireless coverage around the whole house. The RG4332 performed quite OK as a router only, after offloading wifi duties to the DIR-605L. The main problem is that it cannot host a Minecraft server as its port-forwarding/virtual server capability seems to be not working. I will probably replace the RG4332 with an ASUS RT-N12HP or something better. The whole setup is stable so far; no wireless dropouts or internet disconnections. I will continue monitoring for 2 more days before I proceed to terminate my Streamyx 4Mbps. |

The port is still closed after defining the virtual server parameters. DDNS is also not working. It doesn't bind the current WAN IP address to the hostname after a reboot, but still bound to the previous WAN IP. |
