10sen per minute..if per call then bankrupt la celcom laugh.gif

u can register up to 8 people from 019/013 and fixed line..

anyway if they do not continue the 10cent promotion,i believe they will put it 15cent per minute which is still quite cool biggrin.gif

yah i agree. i think it's the lowest rate now.

8pax, even for 8 numbers. what cool is that, even to tm fixed line.
voice call-10sen/min, video call-10sen/min, sms-1 sen/min
if u wanna try 3g, better try it now

3g is now available in klang valley, cjaya+pjaya, genting, klia, jb, penang, mlk, kulim. i'd been using for 2 mths now.

but, minutes plan is the hottest one now. it's a true flat rate. no access fee. u just pay 50rm for package of free 250min talktime n free 20 sms every month. all same rate to all telcos (celcom, maxis, digi) and fixed line no nationwide.

Coverage means everything for me ... and Celcom got it! The rest is irrelevant. I got corporate rate and company pay for it... so, how can celcom rate is expensive? It is free for me...heheeh.

But...errr, do please improve your careline and sack the dumbhead which provide me with wrong PUK code. I hate that lady! Thanks to the cute girl at the SC that cool me down.

Celcom user since 1997.

Currently on 250 minutes plan. Never managed to touch 200 minutes let alone finish the 250 minutes allocated. Average about 100 - 120 sms a month and pay 8 cents/sms for any sms over the free 20 given. My company pays the RM50 plan fee and taxes. I pay for all the rest which is usually the sms and any gprs usage (very rarely). Use the extra savings to purchase a hotlink number (just for fun) and I also don't use the fixed line anymore. Maximising usage of my celcom postpaid to try and finish the minutes. Would've got rid of the fixed line if it wasn't needed for streamyx.

Only time I didn't get coverage with Celcom was near one of the beaches in Langkawi.

1111 is also free so I usually just put the call on speakerphone and just do something else while waiting for the customer service to attend to my call.

Very happy with the minutes plan and hope the opposition keeps Celcom on its toes so that we, the customers, benefit in the long run.

If you mostly make calls with minimal GPRS/MMS etc. and your monthly prepaid costs are above RM80, have many friends/relatives on Digi/Maxis then Celcom Minutes is the one for you. Same call charges rate to any of the mobile operators so it doesn't matter if the majority of friends or relatives are on Maxis or Digi, Central or Northern region, Sabah or Sarawak. I just love it.

I started my celcom xpax this Dec 2005! I have been all maxis, digi, celcom(tmtouch) all the while since 3 yrs ago because I am from South region studying in Central region, need to contact frequently my gf in North region (her home's mobile reception not so good). Trying to find the best package that suits me. Digi prepaid has the best call & sms plan for Friends & Family, but her house got no reception. Then Hotlink can only choose Talk or SMS plan, one at a time, trying to imitate Digi's F&F. So in order to maximize the $ spent, i was using 2 hp, one Maxis P75 for calling and one Hotlink SMS plan for sms. Yes, i admit Celcom's action is quite late in terms of launching this 8pax but it's a good news after all! Having 10cent/min (then after that 15cent/min) and 1cent/sms for 8pax numbers ( same as with Digi, better than Hotlink), but with widest mobile coverage (better than Digi and Hotlink). Celcom may be not so good last time, but trust me it's really improving much with TM's rebranding, new TM Group CEO, and new Celcom CEO!! Even though Celcom's careline service quality still has room for improvement, but they are far better than Hotlink's too-commercial Customer-service (user needs to call 1300 number and get charged like making local calls).
Most of the time when calls drop (whether when I am with maxis or celcom), they usually check and reply that no network problem, that's ok since 0% drop-calls is impossible to be achieved and for most areas, Celcom is accessible.

Celcom fans,

Need some advice.

I'm current a Hotlink user. Service sometimes sucks even here in KL. Thinking of switching over to 019 prepaid (X-pax, right?). Maybe you guys & gals can clear something up for me before I decide to switch.

I'm what you call a low-end user (extremely low end - maybe about RM10 a month - mostly on SMSes). I asked around and the Celcom prepaid dealers all said Celcom prepaid plan is now exactly like 012 or 016, i.e. only RM30/30 days. No more separate charges for access and call charges. Is this true? But when I checked out Celcom's website, it only has all those call plans - 75 etc thingy.

Confused la  . Hopefully someone can clear the air on this for me.

Thanks.

QUOTE(cwyap @ Jan 19 2006, 11:17 PM)

Confused la  wacko.gif . Hopefully someone can clear the air on this for me.

Thanks.

Call plan ? erm you looking for postpaid or prepaid ?

Prepaid : XpaX
PostPaid: Minutes ( RM30, RM50...etc per-month package )

Celcom told me upgrading means a SIM change, and you CANNOT GO BACK.
So I decided to buy a separate prepaid 3G. For me, just trying out 3G with cheaper 2nd hand unit is fine, and 3 months FREE internet makes it well worth it. I sure would like to know what their prepaid rates will be like after the promotion ends.

Pro: good 3G promotion, 8pak bargains, over 3 hrs polite patient consultation on 1111 about 3G settings, automatically sent 3G settings after registration.

Con: 1/2 hr wait at HQ in queue with bill payment customers before nice technician called down within 2 minutes, unable to get 3G streaming video content for my phone model, LOTS of poor English in print and especially on automated balance messages difficult to distinguish between 13/30, 14/40, etc. Technicians could not/don't know how to re-send automatic settings after someone accidentally deleted them from my phone.

I think you have to call CS at 1111 to get the info. I just leave the call on speakerphone until I get the person. Its free so no problem unlike some other network operator who charge for the service.

There are two ways you can get up-to-the-minute reports on the status of your phone bill:

1. Check your bill from anywhere and anytime via SMS ! Just type BOD and send to 22200. A Bill statement will be sent to your mobile phone right away !
SMS charges - RM 0.15/send & RM 0.30/received.

OR

2. Get in touch with our Customer Care Consultants by calling our 24-hour CARELINE at 03-3630 8888 or 1111 (only accessible for 013 & 019).

FYI, the Bill On Demand is not regular updated. Most of the time it only show the last billed amount for the previous month (Previous month until 13th or each current month). Personally I rather use stat monitor (symbian s06) or other relevant software to keep track of my monthly usage. It isn't accurate but enough IMHO.

Yea i usually do this now. But would prefer the instantaneous SMS method. hehe. And maybe sometimes the Customer-Service assistant may give us wrong information. laugh.gif

True. And also you can't check how many minutes or sms you have spent for your postpaid plan this way. What is shown is only the outstanding bill.

However, is the monthly billing cycle fixed at the 13th of each month for everyone? How about the rest of you? I checked and mine is also the 13th of each month, which means my Minutes will reset back to 0-used minutes on the 13th of each month.

Weird. The customer-service assistant told me it's different for everyone. laugh.gif

But anyway, i double-checked with an ex-Celcom employee. He said it's fixed billing date for everyone within a certain location/state.

However, is it confirmed that the Minutes reset back to zero on the 13th of every month? I just wan to be sure. sweat.gif sweat.gif biggrin.gif

Oh ok. Thanks crynobone. Maybe will call up 1111 to disturb them later. laugh.gif but i think goin there to ask is better. sweat.gif

Anyway, anyone use the Voicemail function regularly for their Celcom postpaid line?
Just wanna ask whether are calls to Voicemail included into the default Minutes (like 250min/450min/etc)? Or are they charged in additional to that? sweat.gif

Because if states here 'Standard Call Charges' apply: http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/productservic.../voicemail.html

But we know that our call-charges for Minutes plan is around RM0.15 (450mins plan) and RM0.20 (250mins plan) for the whole day while it is stated for Voicemail, there is peak and non-peak charges. sweat.gif

Can someone using Voicemail clarify this? Thanks. biggrin.gif

Wanna ask anyone has experienced paying their bills late to Celcom yet?

I've got a bill due tomorrow and they haven't received my cheque which i sent on the 25th of Jan yet. doh.gif

Does anybody know when do they start to bar the line for late payment? Is it directly after the due date? or 2 weeks after the due date? or 1 month after the due date?

I've called Celcom customer service to ask about this matter but they just said "Don't worry, sir. Your line will not be barred so fast." doh.gif

Thanks in advance for who can answer my question. Especially those that make their payments late like me. sweat.gif

hey ppl.
i've currently changed from my 450mins plan to my 250mins plan successfully already. no charges i think but i'll only know this in my next bill. good thing is i was only charged for the calls/smses i used with the 450mins plan and the bundled minutes that was not used will be credited into my next month's bill. biggrin.gif

btw, are calls made to 1111 lines free or not?
and i'm not sure how the bundled minutes for the Minutes Postpaid plan is calculated. seems like usually my Minutes that are used are a lot more than what is recorded in my phone for outgoing calls (by using Call Timer function). like at least 50-100 minutes more. sweat.gif

Depends on the usage lor. biggrin.gif

If you mostly call the fav 8, the surely more worth.

But for people like me who calls all sorts of number (including fixed lines) a lot, the Minutes Plan is for me. biggrin.gif

Minutes is far better than 8pax. Simply because it doesn't make you a network provider racist (whatever they call it). 8pax going to forget their maxis friend, activ5 going to forget their celcom friend and digi always with digi.

While with Minutes, "the whole Malaysia is your community, bigger than hotlink 8million people community", quoted from a friend of mine who persuade to join Minutes.

Well, do you still have an outstanding amount owed to Celcom?
If not, then you shouldn't have gotten that warning.
If yes, then when was your outstanding amount actually due? If it was due a long time ago, then better pay up. You probably need an outstanding amount that was due longer than 1 month or so, then only they will call you up i think.

As for my January 13th bill, the due date was February 5th. They received my check on the the 6th or 7th of February. Never got any warning SMS and call from them. Line not barred at all.

Actually I already paid for my January bill. Now the problem is the current going bill from January 13th till February 13th while I currently have almost use up to the minimum limit. The the question is whether it it okay for me to pay the upcoming february bill right now even though the bill (till february 13th) haven't been finalized.

Yup. No problem paying more. It will just be credited to your account. Like my account now has some extra amount in it as well since i downgraded my Minutes plan.

However, if you have no outstanding amount, have you asked the Celcom people why they keep warning you about it? Perhaps there is another reason behind this.

And also, if you do use up to the maximum limit for your Minutes plan, your line will be barred automatically. You won't be able to make any calls. But i am not sure if by paying your February bill in advance, they will unbar you line this way.

It clearly stated in Celcom's website:
QUOTE
YOU MAY EXPERIENCE SERVICE INTERRUPTION DUE TO THE FOLLOWING REASONS :
i) When the amount due in your monthly bill is not remitted fully before the next invoice date.
ii)When you have exceeded your allocated credit limit.
Note :
Your line will be barred if no payment has been received before the due date or you have exceeded allocated credit limit.

Yes,2 ways you can do it.
Manually call up 1111 and ask CS to reload.
Another method is write msg "rec 16digit phonenumber" then send to 2888

Under the terms of the agreement, TM and its subsidiaries will co-operate in developing and offering products and services to international travellers and domestic customers. In the individual markets - Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Indonesia - Vodafone's products and services will be marketed under a dual brand. This will bring the national brands of Celcom, XL and Dialog together with the globally recognised Vodafone brand.

Among the products and services that the three TM subsidiaries will be able to provide access to include a wide range of Vodafone's international voice and data roaming services such as GPRS Roaming and 3G Roaming. The three subsidiaries will also introduce a number of Vodafone's business solutions, which will enable business professionals to enjoy a superior and more transparent communication experience.

For more info, u can read at http://www.tm.com.my/about_TM/newsroom/2006/060126.htm

i miss those days when celcom gives 20% bonus airtimes for at least rm50 recharge ... now only 10%... blink.gif ... but still thanks to celcom for that 10% ... better than panaslink that get bonus after few recharge..

i noticed maxis also supported EDGE besides 3G ..does celcom also have EDGE service? my phone is not a 3G phone lah.. only got edge system.

Celcom's Subscribers Touch 7 Mln Mark

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd's subscriber base reached the seven million mark recently, said its chief executive officer, Datuk Shazalli Ramly here.

Shazalli said Celcom has the largest third generation (3G) content which consists of 88 varied content raning from entertainment to news in Malaysia.

The company also has about 45,000 3G subscribers.

"Under our alliance with Vadafone, we now have the widest 3G and GPRS coverage in the world," Shazalli said at the Celcom Chinese New Year Spring Celebration Dinner Friday.

Currently, Celcom provides 3G Chinese content in the country such as Feng Shui Tips with Lillian Too, instant news via Nanyang Online and Wang Lee Hom's video clips and songs, he added.

The company also has the first and largest Tamil content content provider in the world, in both Romanised and Tamil characters.

Meanwhile, there are 1.4 million activations for the Celcom 8Pax service recorded by year end to 2005.

"Celcom plans to take the communications industry by storm by pursuing and meeting an even more aggressive agenda for innovative enterprise products and ground-breaking solutions," said Shazalli.

None of your 3G content can be played on my * V-O-D-A-F-O-N-E * ! mad.gif
I was even charged for clicking on content that didn't work! vmad.gif

Today is the last day of your trial period 3G Xpax and I haven't seen the "wonders" of streaming yet. wink.gif Get on the ball, shake a leg, get moving, Celcom... you've got 3G customers, take care of them! (E.g., extend the free internet until you can cope with streaming to all models.)

Hope Celcom keeps on rocking~!!!!!
I am a satisfied Xpax user since celcom launched the Xpax plan. Even though sometimes I realised the line dropped a while for no reason in my condo in Cyberjaya, the generally the service is good and i'm not annoyed by that as the call rate is so so so much lower than other telco's prepaid!
I have actually just finished my industrial training with TM, the parent company of celcom. I think the soar in celcom subscriber base gotta thank for its parent company support! Cuz every of staff of the TM Group are promoting Xpax or Minutes Plan to their friends and family.
When celcom catches Maxis neck-to-neck, hope Celcom cares the customers more and do not lose out in this 3G coming wave!

No problem for me when streaming tv channel using Samsung phone. No extra settings is required ... choose internet on the phone and it will point to celcom 3G page. If you wanna go somewhere else, then type the url and surf ... troublesome as you need to type like sms! Only TV3 is free and and the delay from live tv is approx 1 minute or more.. usually more than that.

CYBERJAYA, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd, which currently offers 88 types of content to its 3G subscribers, will develop and introduce new 3G-related content based on consumer behaviour to attract the mass market.

"We want to get close to the consumer behaviour and lifestyle which would make 3G relevant," Celcom's chief executive officer Datuk Mohammed Shazalli Ramly told a media workshop here Tuesday.

He said the company was working towards finding the behaviour content that would be a "hit" to increase the 3G take up rate but declined to disclose further.

Currently, Celcom has about 60,000 3G customers since its launch of 3G in May last year.

Its streaming TV content was a hit with between 7,000 and 10,000 end-users and "Bulletin Utama" being the widely-watched programme.

When asked on any new 3G offerings for the FIFA World Cup competition in June, Mohammed Shazalli said Celcom would be launching "something big" but declined to reveal further.

Meanwhile, Celcom's head of marketing Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin said that the company would widen its 3G coverage to include Sabah and Sarawak soon.

It has already offered the 3G service, which includes among others video telephony, video call, streaming TV and music, to areas such as the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Baharu, Melaka, Kedah and Genting Highlands.

In his presentation at the workshop, he said the future growth of the mobile market was Asia and the data services and multimedia applications have yet to be exploited.

The number of mobile subscribers in Asia is expected to grow from 820 million to 1.2 billion within five years, he said, adding that by 2010, 37 percent of 3G through WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) will come from Asia.

Another speaker, Stephen J. Jones who is the consultant and founder of the 3G Portal.com, said there are currently about 100 million customers worldwide since 3G was launched three-and-a-half years ago.

3G has a good chance of success with analysts predicting 3G revenue to reach US$450 billion by 2010, he said.

As for the content, he said: "We should make new services that fits easily with people and the current modus operandi should solve problems. Blog is a big word last year and MOSOSO or mobile social software is (the in-thing) for 2006."

MOSOSO is an application that helps advanced personal interest and make social interactions more diverse by portable wireless device, Jones said.

Currently, 3G/WCDMA has 100 networks in 42 countries and by 2010, penetration of 3G worldwide is expected at 25 percent.

Hi I am currently using Xpax and i'm thinking to change to Celcom Minutes Plan RM120 monthly.

My questions here:

(1) I called 1111 to ask whether possible to retain my current prepaid number like maxis and digi, the customer service said cannot, have to get another number for the registered line. Guys and girls, we can't have other ways to retain the number or u guys have any experience dealing with this??

(2) Besides 5% govt tax and RM3 for itemized billing, any other additional charges for the monthly bill ar?

Thanks you guys first!! happy.gif

for now Celcom didnt offer its prepaid customers who want to migrate to postpaid the option to retain the old numbers..
well at least u can retain only the last 4 digit of yur old number.. sigh huh.gif

that's all additional charges involved..
and some more things to add..
the free minutes offered is just valid for calls made to fixed line numbers and mobile numbers,
but calls made to 1800 , 1300 and 600 numbers will be charged "outside" the minute plan..

the same goes to sms charges, any mesej sent to 5 digit numbers will be charged accordingly

tak kan la cannot downgrade. btw i plan to upgrade.......... hehe. i find this postpaid plans are cheap, after the plans changed my bills are getting more manageable.

cool, goldfries. thanks for your info. XD

i also have a friend who is on 100min plan. but he is a very-long time user of Celcom. maybe 5 years or more, so maybe they allow him to use the 100min plan as to repay his loyalty towards Celcom or something. LOL.

when u registered, u straight away went into 100min plan? or were u a long-time user as well?

damn. if can, i really wanna go today to get it downgraded. laugh.gif

oh. ~
yeap. the same thing my friend did as well.
last time when they first introduced the Minutes plan, those people already on the Celcom Postpaid could change to this.

but now it seems the option is not given anymore. sigh. anyway, thanks.
also, if they did allow people to change to 100min plan now, i think they would already have advertised it. sweat.gif

arrgh. i couldn't sleep. so i went to check out the plans

http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/productservic...tpaid/main.html

i'm surprised that there's no 100 minutes plan. if i'm not mistaken the 100 minutes plan is RM 30 for the package.

i think i'm going for the 250 plan. smile.gif my gf will probably stick to the 100 minute plan.

Hmm. Actually, i used to be a heavy-caller. That's why i picked the 250min plan, then after that, now i'm a super-smser. LOL. Oh well, maybe i'll just stop sms-ing a lot now. hehe.

Also, i checked with Celcom about the 100minute plan. They said the calls are not just at RM0.25-0.30 flat rate. They said it's based on peak and non-peak rates. So end up don't save a lot also, they said. I don't know how true is that though. sweat.gif

Now my usage is about 220-240minutes per month for my 250min plan. Even for the smallest and non-important thing also i make a call for it. LOL. Usually my bill just is RM53. laugh.gif

I not sure if Celcom got the feature design or not when they upgrade their migration system. But for ur info, I did downgrade from postpaid to prepaid for my maxis line when Xpax's promotion of 10cent/min was introduced, hahah!! Cuz celcom was too cheap! (Now i'm using Celcom @ Air ASia simpack, 5cent/min, even more cheaper!!)

I think the reason telco dun tell us because they are afraid that users simply downgrade. But anyhow, my migration back to prepaid at least still provide some profits to maxis, i think that's why maxis allows me do that (hokkien dialects says "prawn is not that bad if cannot get fish" happy.gif)

Btw, I have plan to register my xpax 019 to postpaid, but guess wat?? the xpax promotion keeps on give low-rate for callings, (I call my gf often) so that makes me hesitate argh~~ Hahahah.. Else I'm interested in the RM120 package tongue.gif

you may try call 1111 ...talk to them ask them deactivate your voice mail...remember..check your sim card serial number...write it down on paper....they might need the number to verify the user.

if u just want that 1010 number..
then u can register for minutes plan at any celcom center..

u can choose any last 4-digit number for new minutes plan registration, .. FOC !!

but for Xpax, u have to browse thru every shops in town!! tongue.gif

josephtan83.. i'm surprised to hear that maxis postpaid can d/grade to hotlink... that's good news too..

i've confirmed with celcom, currently they don't offer this service..

and btw for the xpax (019 only) users who want to migrate to minutes plan..
be prepare to pay RM60 fees (RM50 for changing plan + RM10 duty stamp)..
and u have to resubcribe any value-added features (such as Call-Me tone)

No problem kupang! Ermm...Celcom charge RM60 compared to maxis charge RM0?? aiksss, compared to revenue they can get from postpaid migration, RM60 is nothing la, or they can bond for 6mths or something to allow free plan migration. Haihh.. celcom's management not think about longer term enough. Actually they got several areas can be improved to overtake maxis sad.gif

QUOTE
Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd aims to more than double its current base of 350,000 enterprise users by year-end with the introduction of its new comprehensive plan, Celcom PowerTools, its chief executive officer Datuk Shazalli Ramly said.

The plan is the result of the company’s recent partnership with UK-based mobile telecommunications company Vodafone, and is designed specifically for corporate users as well as small- and medium-enterprise customers. Among the products and services offered are e-mail connectivity and extensive data roaming.

Shazalli told a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur on April 27 that the official launch of Celcom PowerTools would be on May 1.

“This is the first of many launches to come in May, June and July. With these types of activities, and with this range of products being introduced, we assume that it (the enterprise base) shouldn’t be any lower than last year,” he said.

According to Shazalli, Celcom’s enterprise base contributed 9% of the company’s total revenue last year.

He also said that a total of 21 products under Celcom PowerTools would be launched from the beginning of May until the end of this year. Fifteen of these products would be rolled out by July.

Power Tools’ 8pax Pro and Office Pax combine the use of 3G, GPRS and closed user group technology. The 8pax Pro allows customers to make video and voice calls for free for up to eight “favourite” persons, whereas Office Pax offers cheaper calls to colleagues with rates of as low as five sen per minute.

The 3G/GPRS card is priced at RM888 each and is combined with Celcom’s PowerConnect plan, offered at RM90 a month, which enables users to enjoy unlimited 3G, GPRS and WiFi at over 1,000 TMNet hot spots.
5 sen/minute?? wow... good news for celcom user, especially businessman... thumbup.gif

You think that would help? XD
If they really said "Sorry, Samsung phones do not work well and have problems with Celcom lines."

Imagine what would happen if this spread out.

The employees at Celcom have protocol and R & R to follow. If it's too bad, they just won't say it.

So the best is to listen from a user or someone who has tried.

well next launch will be on 11 may (if not mistaken) soft launch done earlier,
all mins plan will be revised! extra mins will be .20cent/per min
instead of now 0.15cent(450mins plan above)
other details will let u know at launch date!
well other telcos got spy in celcom they always counter just bfore launch date,
lets see now whats next...

RM50 per month, is that how much u spend monthly?
if u spend more then go for RM80---> 450minutes talk time to any number in malaysia (except 1 300/1 800)
talk to your friend using maxis for 10mins
(deduct 10mins from 450mins=left 440mins, no extra $$ charges thats it period!)
extra mins is .15cent if u finish up 450mins/ohh 30sms free also!

its in your hand (poor bird, its life is in your hand)
*
Mine spending with me arround RM30 - RM60 coz I seldom make calls... only people call me.

The minute plan is counted on per second basis or per 30 seconds block?

If I call for 29 seconds, so will deduct 29 seconds from 450 mins or deduct 1/2 min?

The Minutes plan is based on 30-sec call blocks.

If you make at least 250mins of calls per month, then consider getting it.
Otherwise, if you are a heavy sms user and don't call that much, then the plan is not for you really. because you will be wasting the 250 minutes (that don't carry forward to the next month) and there is only free 20 free sms per month (RM0.08 for additional sms).

if u send about 100sms per month and use about 250 minutes, then your monthly bill will be about RM60 (including taxes, but no itemised billing).

KUALA LUMPUR: English Premier League superstars Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Ryan Giggs and Robert Pires have signed on with Celcom to promote its services.

The four footballers have already shot an advertisement in Manchester three weeks ago and the short film will be aired on local TV today.

This is a coup for Celcom as the four football heros are from teams with huge following in the country. According to Celcom CEO Datuk Shazali Ramly, the four signed on for his company on April 18.

Gerrard plays for Liverpool, Owen for Newcastle, Giggs for Manchester United while Pires is an Arsenal star.

The four are expected to come to Malaysia in August or September to shoot another advertisement.

They will be contracted to promote Celcom and its sister company Excel in Indonesia for a year.

Celcom lancar kempen Football Mad Nation
KUALA LUMPUR 10 Mei - Celcom (M) Bhd.

new plans again? haha it is expected. I read from Multimedia Commission that the effective new inter-telco rates was enforced from 1st April 2006, among other things the intertelco charges will be slashed by 30% .

I am so waiting for the new round of price wars.

Nolah, only if u olg plan the u can be offered RM30/ 100mins/20 sms, extra mins 25cent.
*
According to one of the customer service assistant whom i spoke to, there's also a peak/non-peak period rate for the 100min plan. Which means that calls made in different times are charged differently. >.<
Which is why i don't bother with them anymore compared to the completely flat 250 (and above) minutes plan. tongue.gif

It is true that Celcom is doing their best to promote their 3G plan...even go pasar malam or shopping market can saw the celcom crew are promoting their 3G plan with cheap starter pack, free gift and etc...

The most I saw their promoting other than 3G plan is only their old X-Pax....their crew offered me RM10 for the starter pack in order for me to use the Celcom postpaid sweat.gif

That depends on the majority numbers u call, but to be frank, celcom's plan is the best for (business) people calling out to not only celcom, but as well as fixed lines and cross-operators like digi and others mixed.

If u r a medium/light user, different plans just give u a bill difference of a few ringgits, not worth to bother much.

Other things u may consider is coverage, of which celcom has the advantages of. One of the weak points of celcom's is if u want auto-roaming, u need to pay RM300 (refundable) for deposits (for local/domestic, if i am not mistaken, u need not pay deposit), whereas maxis requires RM100 for domestic and global roaming as well.

Although there are many perks with Celcom, such as broadcast info, superior coverage, I am still somewhat a tad reluctant to subscribe to it due to my past experience with celcom's bad billing system and bad inefficient customer service.

It's ok with celcom IF you dont get into trouble with their service, but when you do, you will find it difficult to solve the problem due to their atrocious customer service with the 'tidak apa attiude'

Celcom To Launch Most Powerful Postpaid Plan

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 (Bernama) -- Celcom (M) Bhd is confident of dominating the postpaid market with the launch of its most powerful postpaid plan, said its chief executive officer.

"The plan, which is expected to be launched May 17, will provide users with a more tailored product that would appeal to various cross-segments of the market.

"I am quite sure we will dominate the postpaid segment... bearing in mind we can be flexible with our data, third-generation, general packet radio service and roaming," Celcom chief executive officer, Datuk Shazalli Ramli, told reporters after a media conference on the new plan here Monday.

Celcom's current market share for postpaid is about the same as rival Maxis' market share.

The new postpaid plan comprises three different packages -- normal postpaid, minutes postpaid and family postpaid.

The normal postpaid package requires no monthly commitment and users only need to pay as they use and pay a low access fee.

Under the minutes postpaid, users can expect more minutes, lower rates and greater savings, with free short messaging services (SMS) and voice calls as low as 14.3 sen per minute to any mobile or fixed number.

The family postpaid offers 3,000 free minutes, free 200 SMS, unlimited free calls to 'family lines' and one flat rate to all numbers.

It also offers the lowest rate of 13.3 sen per minute, and has up to three free additional lines with RM1,400 credit limit with no access fee and no deposits.

Agreed. I have been a subscriber (minutes plan) just over a year. Initially there were problems with my billing but they managed to solved it amicably. The new Celcom is better than before. Keep it up Celcom!

Celcom yakin kuasai segmen pascabayarm
KUALA LUMPUR 15 Mei - Celcom (M) Bhd.

"Saya yakin kami mampu menguasai pasaran pascabayar. Saya bukannya bersikat angkuh tetapi berani," katanya pada taklimat media mengenai 'Pelan Pascabayar Berkuasa Celcom' di sini hari ini

Pesaing terdekat Celcom, Maxis Communications Bhd. (Maxis) juga mempunyai jumlah pelanggan pascabayar yang hampir sama, iaitu 1.1 juta orang manakala DiGi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. pula mempunyai pelanggan seramai 400,000 orang.

but RM400 for 4 lines with 3000 mins combined and free call between the 4 lines is a good plan.

but at the end of day, users will end up paying more RM100+ person. This is how telco reaps money from you.

KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd has revised and simplified its offering of postpaid plans and consolidated them into three plans, which the telco hopes would put it in the lead in the closely fought postpaid market.

The three new plans are the normal postpaid, minutes postpaid and family postpaid plan.

The normal postpaid package, which entails a low access fee, requires no monthly commitment and users only need to pay as they use while the minutes package gives users more minutes, lower rates and greater savings, with free short messaging services (SMS) and voice calls as low as 14.3 sen per minute to any mobile or fixed number.
The family plan allows up to four members of a family to make free unlimited calls to one another.

Chief executive officer Datuk Shazalli Ramly said that with the three plans, "we are quite sure we will dominate the postpaid market, especially with the family plan, which will be launched tomorrow.''

Currently, Celcom has about 1.1 million postpaid subscribers.

Shazalli added that more related services would be added to the family plan. "Bundling will come soon after, and we also wanted to add in (similar services for) broadband, fixed lines and facilities offered by TM Net Sdn Bhd."

Celcom has also revised its packages for its GPRS and 3G services. The latter is currently being upgraded, and the new features are expected to be announced next month.

Currently, Celcom has 72,000 3G service subscribers, a number that Shazalli believes shows that the company is on track in its 3G expansion plan.

"We plan for the national rollout for 3G to be completed by the end of September, whereby coverage will be available at all central business districts and major shopping centres in the country," he said.

Shazalli said Celcom had targeted for 150,000 3G subscribers this year, and had already achieved the halfway mark before national rollout was completed.

The company is also on an aggressive drive to introduce new services to capture a wider portion of the market.

Celcom is launch its PowerTools product, designed for corporate users and enterprise customers, and will be marketed to small and medium industries and enterprises, government-linked and blue chip companies.

Shazalli also hinted that Celcom will develop a loyalty programms for its prepaid market.

"We will not allow anymore erosion in our market share," he said. "Watch out for us in the second half of the year."

from Borneo Post, local daily in Sarawak.

briefly:

1. Normal Postpaid plan:RM 30 per month access fee, 30 sen /min flat rate to any numbers, 10 sen per sms flat

2. Minutes plan: not much details but it mentions for call exceeding current minutes will be charged at 14.3 sen/min (more savings when u call)

3. Family Plan: RM400 for maximum of 4 lines. 3000 minutes shared by 4 lines. call between 4 lines FOC. Call outside 4 lines will charged by minutes. After exceeding 3000 minutes (total for 4 lines) will be charged 13.3 sen/min. free bundled sms = 200

data plans:
1. unlimited GPRS/3G = RM99 per month but must subscrib to any other postpaid plans.

2. special rate for streamyx subscribers = RM88/month ( i suppose u need to bring your tmnet bill for sign up)

3. Data Only unlimited 3G/gprs = RM120 /month (if you opted out for any postpaid plan that is)

the data plan beats DIGI.

celcom CEO also admitted there was a massive churn rate for celcom during the last quarter of 2005 after they launched the minutes plan and they are feeling the pinch of the reduction in their postpaid subscribers.

The reasons for the churn rate:

1. image problem
2. erroneous billings - apparently many customers terminated their line after being given unsatisfactory explaination for the extra charges in their bills by an equally oblivious and unhelpful customer care consultants.

3. Aggressive promotion by other telcos.

4. billing problem

5. billing problem

6. billing problem

7-10 will be billing problem

ya, very worth.... but unfortunately, my family members are not talketive.... so our phone call charges are not as high as RM100...

so it is atractive if the average call charges per month is above RM100. flex.gif

btw.. after i check around.. nahh.. i dun think it's a competitive price..

for minutes and access fees plan.. they trying to go back to the old price.. which is 20sen per min and 8sen per sms.. how can.. prepaid already 1 sen per sms.. i remember my RM 80 minutes plan exceed close less thn that.. and it doesnt benefit lower end users like me..

the data package.. RM 80 for streamyx user is still expensive.. i would like to get 1.. but RM 80 per month... have to think of it again.. why cant they have data package like singapore.. haih...

Celcom is betting on the family package to raise revenue. But how many users will switch? people just dont call 4 lines only. In fact they call other people also.

and the extra calls of 20 sen/min after the alloted time sucks. What is celcom trying to do? They suppose to encourage people to call more, not less!

The Minutes plan failed miserably due to high churn rate after it was launched. And they still maintain that plan.... AND MAKE IT MORE EXPENSIVE now.

normal people just dont talk to 4 people, and the high rate of RM400 will put off many normal users. Who really want to intertwine their line with 4 people? for an instance,In one family , most likely all the children has their own prepaid lines already...do u think the father will sign up for 4 lines and give it to their children so that they can talk with their children/wife limitlessly? The children might not want to give up their hotlink/ digi prepaid.

I just went to the telco shop yesterday, the salesperson does not want to promote the RM400 plan because she says it's too EXPENSIVE and not many customers will like that plan... haha..

celcom you really need to sack your current marketting officer and hire a better one.

It's kind of sad that you possess such good infrastructure but you dont know how to make use of it. pity.

look at this:

Minutes Plan
RM 50 (Free 250 minutes + 20 SMS)
RM 80 (Free 500 minutes + 30 SMS)
RM 120 (Free 800 minutes + 50 SMS)
RM 200 (Free 1400 minutes + 100 SMS)
Usage exceeded monthly allotment (20 sen/min and 8sen/SMS)

if u feel 20sen/ min is expensie when u use RM80 plan .. then go for RM120 plan.

i think we shd know which plan more suite to our own usage...

come on guys .. how can we use 100% sharp at 500 minute if we use Rm80 plan ? smile.gif ))

Well, last year i wanted to sign up for celcom minutes plan. I was warned by one of the ex-celcom user about celcom plan. He said that celcom has the propencity to change their mind, terms and conditions very frequently.

with the new celcom minutes plan, they effectively increased their postpaid call charges from 15sen to 20 sen for all minutes plan. A few of my friends are on minutes are very upset with celcom because they on RM80 plan and normally exceeded the alloted minutes. It means they have to pay MORE now than last time.

They are working adults, they dont have so much time to go to celcom office to change their plans.

what is wrong with celcom? they are betting the Rm400 will be well received by the public ( which i doubt, the salesgirls at the telco shop all told me customers dont want to sign up , they dont dare to promote also) at the EXPENSE of the existiing celcom minutes subscribers.

shakehead. this is another of celcom undoing. i can see the number of their postpaid customers will continue to shrink.

it is good to see so as it proves that the CEO has made the wrong marketing plans and their marketing plan managers should be fired off..

If I were them, I will locate RM10 access fee for normal plan.

RM40 fee for 200 mins, exceed = 0.15/min laugh.gif laugh.gif

can u guys please compare the old and new minutes plans properly...

look... old plan rm80 = 450 minutes, about 18sen/minute
new plan rm80 = 500 minutes, 16sen/minute.
u get 2sen/minute cheaper or 50 minutes extra talktime than the
previous plan.

for those who always exceed their minutes, better change
to rm120/800minutes plan = 15sen/minute, a lot more cheaper...

i guess most of u got misunderstood

i think this is their strategy..

they offer more minutes for existing plans.. yup.. it's a good move..

BUT.. after the minutes bundled with the plan, each minute is 20sen/min.. which is actually high..

comparing RM 80 plans.. last time extra minutes cost 15sen/min only.. it means actually it's more expensive to make EXTRA MINUTES..

celcom has same mentality. The billing mayhem has not been sorted out yet.

Advertisement says no need pay deposit or upfront fees. From their website this is not true.

There is still a hidden RM50 connection fee, RM10 stamp duty, advanced PV, prorated PV, and BACKDATED PV.

so this is how it will work. let me take RM80 plan for example.

For your first month, you will be charged RM 10 (connection fee, staggered into 5 months ) + RM2 (stamp duty ,staggered into 5 months) + prorate + advanced RM80.

confused yet? why do we need to pay advanced RM80 for the current month? I could accept the prorate.. but why advance payment for every month?

this is not all guys, there is this BACKDATED PV ( or so called adjustment for advanced PV) staggered for 5 months. this is basically your deposit, will will be offset in case you terminate the plan.

so every month for 5 months you will pay more than RM100 ....for a RM80 plan.

Now, it takes me a while to figure out their billing bewilderment.

This UNACCEPTABLE atrocious billing system which is out there to CHEAT customers. STAY CLEAR of celcom until they sort out their billing system.

why cant they just follow DIGI/ Maxis in their billing?
maxis connection fee waived, stamp duty waived, first bill you ONLY pay the PRo-rate for the previous month. The current month will be billed to you NEXT MONTH. and they tell you that u only need to pay upfront deposit of RM100.. but what i like about maxis is they are CLEAN. you dont feel cheated.

something i dun understand bout their new plan is the normal postpaid..the access fee is RM30 and their call rate is more expensive than minutes plan so wuts the point??if im not mistaken, normal postpaid doesnt come with free minutes rite?btw, their 100minutes plan still valid anot??coz scared they took that off without telling customers..

just checked with celcom careline, those existing customers will remain to same which means that if u are on 450minutes plan, will still be in 450minutes plan and everything will remain the same like additional call charges will be 15cents/min..so hopefully that's the case..

Actually, for those who didn't notice it before, when Celcom first introduced their Celcom Minutes plan, they did state (in fine print) that it was just a promotion and for a limited time only. Which is quite true considering it is quite dirt cheap (if you are using RM80 and above) plan.

Now probably is their permanent plan that they will keep. So definitely it'll be more expensive since it's not like a promotion anymore.

IMHO, this is Celcom's tactic to get the customer base first for the postpaid, then later on charg 'higher'. >.<

but how can this tactic work? The CEO says there is a churn rate of 70,000 postpaid customers AFTER minutes plan is introduced. They still havent solved a core issue -----> people still ditched celcom to sign up for maxis/digi.

Can they address this decline? it's been so for that last 5 years. Remember last time when celcom subscribers base declines, the CEO says it because they are merging with TMtouch.. (great excuse).

Now what excuse have they got? more competition from maxis/digi? that's a bullshit excuse, they are just as incompetent as they were 5 years ago. Logo has changed, theme has changed, but nothing changes inside celcom.

website never updated, billing still has many problems, oblivious customer service. inconsistency. One day this, tomorrow that.

they customer base will continue to decline, i have no doubt about it. They need to fire their marketting officer, website designers, sales research team ( which i bet is being leased out to cut cost?) and ADMIT that celcom has an image problem and work culture problem.

as long as they do not address this issues, sorry celcom, looks like maxis/digi will eat into your market share.

DiGi now offers unlimited Free calls, with a catch
by Vijandren Ramadass
Friday, 19 May 2006 11:17 AM
Competition is always good among businesses, but when you're a service provider, the end-user always stands to benefit from stiff competition. The Malaysian mobile telecommunication industry is a very good example.

DiGi has usually been at the forefront of introducing radical rate plans as well as promotions to capture a bigger slice of the market pie. Their latest offering is targetted at postpaid users, offering them a first in Postpaid service - Free voice calls within their 016/014 network. There is always a catch however, in order to qualify for the free inter network calls, you need to first chalk up at least RM123 worth of calls for the month. This would definately be good news to heavy users who call within the network. SMS's fees within the network is also waived if you monthly usage exceeds RM123.

We'll just have to wait and see what the other players will do to counter this. Competition, always delighting the masses.

Celcom also introduced new data mobile packages with 3rd Generation (3G) and General Packet Radio Services (GRPS) technology.

You can now get unlimited usage of 3G and GPRS for RM99, with a discount of RM11 for Streamyx customers who show their bill.

i would say 3G can be a replacement for Streamyx somewhat. The good thing is... it's completely wireless.

however for those who have streamyx at home, might as well not get it. unless you are outside most of the time.

for those people who don't have streamyx (like those working professionals staying in areas w/o streamyx), 3G is the way to go.

Celcom's 3G is only RM99 per month. And their GPRS is RM99 too. Digi's GPRS is a whopping RM149 a month.

digi is RM99 per month , now with option to opt out voice package, that is to say you can soley get digi EDGE for 99 , without subsribing to their call packages.

Celcom is Rm99 ONLY IF you subscribe to their minutes/family/normal talk plan. if you choose for DATA only, you need to pay RM120.

Maxis 3G connect (data only) is also RM120.

Biasala Yitjuan,Celcom's website is the lousiest among 3 operators.
The normal postpaid also never mention Rm0.30/min is for local or nation wide, any off peak rate also didn't mention.
At least Maxis normal postpaid got off peak rates.

Gerrard, Owen sertai Celcom
Oleh A. JAILANI ABDULLAH

R u saying it's applicable to EVERYBODY (postpaid only) regardless they registered under a company or not...?

Eg. If my wife and I use Power38 + 8Pax Pro, we only need to pay RM38 + RM10? But both of us are not using CELCOM registered company.

Edited : If the above is true, then, might as well don't offer Minutes Plan....

yes it's opened for individual registration. I went to speak with the presiding officer of celcom at Miri Celcom cetnre. however, you need to provide 3 month salary slips to register and there is a 2 year contract.

however, to enjoy the power office (+ RM10 for unlimited calls to 8 013/019 numbers) you NEED to register under company.

may I suggest that you get power 38, then your wife registers under supplementary RM20 from you. calls between you and your wife will be FOC.

it sounds a bit too good to be true but that is what i understand from the officer.

oh yea, power 38 is entitled to a free BASIC phone ( no gprs, only sms and talk function).

hope this helps.

i also wonder why they open to individuals now. my guess is the response from the public to their minutes plan are very listless and they have no choice but to offer this better plan to the individuals. powertool 38 is a better plan than minutes.

soul2soul is true... I subscribed the line in Miri few days ago... But they only got 64k sim card, so i get it for the moment.

Today i wanted to upgrade it to 128k, so i went to Menara Celcom which is in Jalan Semarak. And what happens next is really silly... The person who helped me was dumb enough... She gave me the new sim card, and call me to keep the old one, so i kept it. Then until now, i still couldn't use the 128k so i called 1111, and they said the person didn't deactivate my old sim card, and activate my new sim card. The 1111's operatorcall me to go back to the service centre, but to travel there i need to spend more fare which i do not suppose to, as it is their fault... How?

that's the thing i dont like about celcom, once u have problem with their service, it is really a pain to get through their system of customer service to get the right things done. one person will pass the to the other. very similar to streamyx.

your problem actually can be settled outright. They just lazy to walk an extra mile for you. What that 1111 guy should have done is to requeest deactivation for your old simcard (why would they need to keep the old simcard in order to deactivate it??? rclxub.gif ), write in to their superior concerning your case to forgo the policy of you returning the old card (special circumstance requires special consideration).

but he is just plain lazy, or maybe there is no incentive for him to work harder, unless there is a monitoring customer care monitoring system like digi/maxis, they will never improve

for usage (call + SMS) above RM38, you just pay what ever you use ... if < RM38, you must pay RM38 as well.

Say your total usage charges = RM68, pay RM68.

Hey yes~! Same here.
I had the problem about 4-5 days ago.

Now the problem has resurfaced. Couldn't manage to send out just now, have to keep retrying then only can.

And once i sent, my friends receive it many times. sweat.gif
