I started my celcom xpax this Dec 2005! I have been all maxis, digi, celcom(tmtouch) all the while since 3 yrs ago because I am from South region studying in Central region, need to contact frequently my gf in North region (her home's mobile reception not so good). Trying to find the best package that suits me. Digi prepaid has the best call & sms plan for Friends & Family, but her house got no reception. Then Hotlink can only choose Talk or SMS plan, one at a time, trying to imitate Digi's F&F. So in order to maximize the $ spent, i was using 2 hp, one Maxis P75 for calling and one Hotlink SMS plan for sms. Yes, i admit Celcom's action is quite late in terms of launching this 8pax but it's a good news after all! Having 10cent/min (then after that 15cent/min) and 1cent/sms for 8pax numbers ( same as with Digi, better than Hotlink), but with widest mobile coverage (better than Digi and Hotlink). Celcom may be not so good last time, but trust me it's really improving much with TM's rebranding, new TM Group CEO, and new Celcom CEO!! Even though Celcom's careline service quality still has room for improvement, but they are far better than Hotlink's too-commercial Customer-service (user needs to call 1300 number and get charged like making local calls).
Most of the time when calls drop (whether when I am with maxis or celcom), they usually check and reply that no network problem, that's ok since 0% drop-calls is impossible to be achieved and for most areas, Celcom is accessible.
CELCOM GAMBATE!!! AND THOSE WHO HAVEN'T RIDE ON THE WAVE, JUMP INTO NOW AND INVITE YOUR GANG TOGETHER!!! happy.gif

Hope Celcom keeps on rocking~!!!!!
I am a satisfied Xpax user since celcom launched the Xpax plan. Even though sometimes I realised the line dropped a while for no reason in my condo in Cyberjaya, the generally the service is good and i'm not annoyed by that as the call rate is so so so much lower than other telco's prepaid!
I have actually just finished my industrial training with TM, the parent company of celcom. I think the soar in celcom subscriber base gotta thank for its parent company support! Cuz every of staff of the TM Group are promoting Xpax or Minutes Plan to their friends and family.
When celcom catches Maxis neck-to-neck, hope Celcom cares the customers more and do not lose out in this 3G coming wave!

Hi I am currently using Xpax and i'm thinking to change to Celcom Minutes Plan RM120 monthly.

My questions here:

(1) I called 1111 to ask whether possible to retain my current prepaid number like maxis and digi, the customer service said cannot, have to get another number for the registered line. Guys and girls, we can't have other ways to retain the number or u guys have any experience dealing with this??

(2) Besides 5% govt tax and RM3 for itemized billing, any other additional charges for the monthly bill ar?

Thanks you guys first!! happy.gif

for now Celcom didnt offer its prepaid customers who want to migrate to postpaid the option to retain the old numbers..
well at least u can retain only the last 4 digit of yur old number.. sigh  huh.gif

that's all additional charges involved..
and some more things to add..
the free minutes offered is just valid for calls made to fixed line numbers and mobile numbers,
but calls made to 1800 , 1300 and 600 numbers will be charged "outside" the minute plan..

the same goes to sms charges, any mesej sent to 5 digit numbers will be charged accordingly

rugi la the telco if postpaid change to prepaid laugh.gif if postpaid they can charge u for many things...bill, monthly n bla bla bla..add to profit

I not sure if Celcom got the feature design or not when they upgrade their migration system. But for ur info, I did downgrade from postpaid to prepaid for my maxis line when Xpax's promotion of 10cent/min was introduced, hahah!! Cuz celcom was too cheap! (Now i'm using Celcom @ Air ASia simpack, 5cent/min, even more cheaper!!)

I think the reason telco dun tell us because they are afraid that users simply downgrade. But anyhow, my migration back to prepaid at least still provide some profits to maxis, i think that's why maxis allows me do that (hokkien dialects says "prawn is not that bad if cannot get fish" happy.gif)

Btw, I have plan to register my xpax 019 to postpaid, but guess wat?? the xpax promotion keeps on give low-rate for callings, (I call my gf often) so that makes me hesitate argh~~ Hahahah.. Else I'm interested in the RM120 package tongue.gif

if u just want that 1010 number..
then u can register for minutes plan at any celcom center..

u can choose any last 4-digit number for new minutes plan registration, .. FOC !!

but for Xpax, u have to browse thru every shops in town!!  tongue.gif

josephtan83.. i'm surprised to hear that maxis postpaid can d/grade to hotlink...  that's good news too..

i've confirmed with celcom, currently they don't offer this service..

and btw for the xpax (019 only) users who want to migrate to minutes plan..
be prepare to pay RM60 fees (RM50 for changing plan + RM10 duty stamp)..
and u have to resubcribe any value-added features (such as Call-Me tone)

*
No problem kupang! Ermm...Celcom charge RM60 compared to maxis charge RM0?? aiksss, compared to revenue they can get from postpaid migration, RM60 is nothing la, or they can bond for 6mths or something to allow free plan migration. Haihh.. celcom's management not think about longer term enough. Actually they got several areas can be improved to overtake maxis sad.gif

i m acelcom user too...usin postpaid minutes plan...but whn i compare wit maxis...it seems that celcom's rate is mor xpensive..thus most of my frens oso use maxis don wan use celcom...isit true guyz?

That depends on the majority numbers u call, but to be frank, celcom's plan is the best for (business) people calling out to not only celcom, but as well as fixed lines and cross-operators like digi and others mixed.

If u r a medium/light user, different plans just give u a bill difference of a few ringgits, not worth to bother much.

Other things u may consider is coverage, of which celcom has the advantages of. One of the weak points of celcom's is if u want auto-roaming, u need to pay RM300 (refundable) for deposits (for local/domestic, if i am not mistaken, u need not pay deposit), whereas maxis requires RM100 for domestic and global roaming as well.
